I actually had 3 different searches prepared, because Amazon's search engine can be.... uhh... not great sometimes. My searches were: "DX Chogokin Macross YF-21" (sorted by Featured) "DX Chogokin Macross Plus YF-21" (sorted by Featured) "DX Chogokin Macross" (sorted by Newest Arrivals) I only discovered that Amazon began listing the YF-21 because it showed up on just 1 of my searches, namely "DX Chogokin Macross Plus YF-21". It did show up on the other 2 searches later on, but I think that was about 5 - 10 minutes later.... then stopped showing up altogether when it was no longer available.

After the issue with my VF-25G Revival pre-order thru Amazon US (It is only now shipping, 4 months after release date, despite me pre-ordering), I no longer trust that Amazon can reliably acquire enough inventory to fulfill long-duration or open pre-order windows. Knowing that the YF-21 was going to be in high demand, I was religiously refreshing my Amazon search results page, so as to not miss the listing showing up.

The Amazon.com pre-order listing is up... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRK23S71/ So, Amazon's price pretty much matches the Crunchyroll Store and is about $14 cheaper than going thru BBTS. Nothing to write home about, but for those who missed out on pre-ordering elsewhere and are uncomfortable ordering from certain stores they are not familiar with (I am reminded of Nippon-Yasan stealing $200 from me), I guess Amazon is an option.

Rare, Very rare, though I have seen it happen before. I think usually it is due to someone cancelling their pre-order, thus re-opening a spot. The only reason I can see someone cancelling an already placed pre-order is because they manage to find a better price elsewhere. For example, when someone places an Amazon Japan pre-order (sold and shipped by Amazon JP) after already pre-ordering from AmiAmi/HLJ/etc since Amazon JP tends to open pre-orders like 20-40 minutes after the official pre-order time begins. I imagine people who still have their pre-orders open at AmiAmi/HLJ/etc probably won't be cancelling them at this point in time, unless when the YF-21 finally gets listed at Amazon US, the price is unexpectedly good. Though given the current state of the Japanese yen vs. the US dollar, I doubt that will happen.

Nevermind.... Found it at DailyMotion. Looks like the missiles fired by Max's VF-22 are internally-stored micro-missiles.

Thanks for this. I was hunting YouTube for Macross 7's episode 49 but could not find it anymore. I know it used to be on YT a few years back. I was hoping to see the final battle scene where Max flies in with the VF-22. Oh well....

Does the YF-21 have any missile hardpoints? (I guess in the Macross Plus show, the missiles were stored internally?) I noticed that the YF-21 is listed as including Fast Packs, but seems to completely lack all the missiles that had come with the original DX Chogokin YF-19 release.... though, admittedly, the YF-19 re-issue did not include missiles either.

Macross toys tend to be a little cheaper at Crunchyroll's store compared to BBTS, though I am not sure about how much Crunchyroll's shipping cost is. The YF-21 is not showing up yet at Crunchyroll, but will probably appear within the next few days. I would say keep checking there, as well as Amazon.com, for when the YF-21 eventually gets listed.

For those who missed out on AmiAmi's YF-21 pre-order, I would suggest to keep refreshing. I have occasionally seen and benefited from a closed pre-order listing allowing me to order. Not sure if it is due to a 2nd wave of pre-order inventory becoming available or a cancellation freeing up a spot. I would also suggest refreshing HLJ's listing. On rare occasion, I have seen a closed preorder at HLJ becoming open again because someone snagged a cheaper price elsewhere and thus cancelling their HLJ order, freeing up a spot. It's rare, but it has happened before. Good luck!!! ファイト!!! 파이팅!!!

I also thought I would not succeed. I was refreshing every second since 5 minutes before 11 AM Japan time. I noticed that as soon as TimeAndDate.com showed it was 11 AM in Japan, my refresh showed the pre-order was active. I added to cart, signed in, selecred EMS, and checked out as fast as my mouse would let me. I am so relieved. (P.S. Your avatar looks familiar.... 여자친구 / VIVIZ's 은하? )
