    Heh. Beautiful airplane, and I LOVE that splinter camo. Nightmare to mask on a model though. I believe the Oerlikon 30mm cannon fitted to the JA variant is the third most powerful gun fitted to a modern aircraft, behind the GAU-8 and the Spectre's 105. Was the Viggen effective? It was never exported, never fired a shot in anger, so how can one measure its worth?

    Simply writing TL;DR might have been a bit brusque. Noyhauser wrote some thoughtful stuff I didn't know, which I appreciate. I do sometimes wonder which is the "best" European canarded-delta aircraft in terms of capability, cost per flight hour, and performance. Typhoon, Rafale, or Gripen? And as for damage capacity and loiter time, how does the Frogfoot compare to the A-10, or other designs before it? Anyone know?

    Drones. Possibly the B-2 if the target is truly worthy. Also possibly, a B-1B used as a stand-off weapons platform. Cruise missiles can carry conventional warheads. Program the GPS coordinates and off it goes. Or something none of us know about.

    I still have all mine. Always regretted not getting the evil black triangle bomber and two of the small fighters that fit into it. Loved the spring-motorized features and the magnetics.

    What happens when China has enough ​of Taiwan/Vietnam/Japan and starts shooting? They have some very capable aircraft like the J-10, possibly J-20, the various SU-27/30 copies, and a reasonable ADF setup. They're also on the other side of the world. Let's assume they attack, roll over the ROC, make an amphib landing from Manchuria to the west coast of Japan, or at least launch many missiles and drop many bombs on Nippon. Let's also assume no one's nuked anyone yet. Ten hours have elapsed. What do we do, with what, and would the 35, in all its incarnations, make any of that easier?

    On the 1X++, looks like the wings are wider (greater chord) than standard too. Also, look at the exhausts/feet. Different shape.

    Um... why is he eating a dead leaf? CF-30? If it has the fold quartz built in, that'd make it the most expensive CF yet. Consider the uprated engines, beam cannon, missile bank, fold quartz and so on. That would be a very large Emigration Fleet or wealthy planet to afford that. It wouldn't surprise me to see the CF Valkyrie be a tweaked 25.

    I think I actually saw one CW05,in Herzogenaurauch Germany. Small white guy, thought he was a 1LT until I saw the open boxes on his bars. He just walked past me. And a rainbow followed him.

    So at the risk of derailing the thread: what keeps you there? You came for the anime/culture/something, presumably, and now that you've had your fill of it, why are you still there, putting up with everything?

    Well obviously, that's what the pilot needed the ATM for. His FAST packs were dry!
