Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread

No... if you're referring to the red-haired person standing up in that Kingdom of Wind poster... pretty sure that's a dude.- 2715 replies

Is there a reason why the arms and arm armor parts look so low on that VF-1 on the launch arm? They should be tucked further in to the fuselage. The landing gear will never reach the ground, as low as the gun pod is slung. Bad transformation, or bad mechanism?

My apologies. The 5000 has been the only one for so long, my brain didn't catch up. I've honestly never considered the 17 or 171 as deltas. Not that they're not, but they seem to be a blended wing/body more than anything else. Even a lifting body. Or I'm insane.

Honestly, it's the design. Lovely and streamlined and lithe, it's the only delta wing Kawamori did until the just-revealed SV-262. It transforms into a sturdy looking Battroid, and that transformation combines the best parts of the VF-1 and VF-19 (no uniboob). I just like it a bit more than the 11. It looks more advanced, even if it's not.

Having the benefit of looking at better-res versions, I think they're dragon/bat wings. Dunno about the center of it. The Knights of Wind each have their own trim color and personal symbol painted all over their Draken IIIs.- 2715 replies

Why not? Have mold, will milk.

Yep. Although with this being, probably, the main Valkyrie in the series, there's an excellent chance we'll finally see the other weapon pods. One of those might be to your liking, DWC.

So that's what happens when a YF-19 and a YF-30 love each other very much. Silhouette shows promise. Not long now.

Is it fair to say that the bigger the weapon, physically, the higher its destructive potential? The end result is the same, but a bigger weapon would generate a bigger beam, yes?

It has a longer and boxier "stinger" though. Only the VF-1 seems to be able the beat the 16's airframe in terms of flexibility.

That's not a delta, it's a cranked arrow! 😉 Great, great airplane there. I just wanna take it and throw it in a darkened hangar with an F-22 for a few days with some romantic music and see what results. It'd be epic.

Pre-ordered from NY. Now I await...

Sabine as a figure? That'd be nice. Hera too. A grown Ahsoka and old Rex wouldn't go wrong either.
-
Waiting for NY myself.

As Doug Drexler would say, you're letting your ape brain rule you. You're looking at futuristic designs with an expectation of contemporary materials and engineering being used to construct it, instead of the super-strong materials they're undoubtedly using. Heck, look at what we have today-graphene, carbon nanotubes, and other materials we've barely scratched the surface of. Heck, just a month or so ago, the Navy announced a material that's as close as makes no difference to transparent aluminum! Open mind, in other words. I also like the JJ Enterprise. Not as much as the originals, but I can see where they were going and I like it.

It'll hold a small hangar, thereby letting you put a Valkyrie in your Valkyrie so you can variable fight while you variable fight. It'll be called the X-Z1bT type pod.

The 26th.

The Chinese government is also not nearly as factory-friendly as they used to be. They're moving China towards a service and finance based country but quick. For example, an environmental quality license that cost a few thousand a couple years ago now costs $100,000. Apparently, half the factories in Guangdong, their big manufacturing city, are idle. It's a changing China.

Much cheaper than I thought it would be. I'm in for one. Oh, I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but pre-orders start Monday, the 26th.

69 on Metacritic now, 0 negative reviews. It matters not, I'm seeing it. If for no other reason than Monica Bellucci.
