DX Chogokin YF-29 (Alto) Durandal Valkyrie - Reissue
TrickyCustomer replied to joppewo's topic in Toys
Do you think the other variants will get the upgrade treatment? I wouldn't mind a Ozma custom. -
I agree, I'd rather it not have those features. The fact that bandai are releasing a dx 21 is reason enough for me to buy it. They don't have to go crazy with features, just make it look good and durable.
-
I am sure Arcadia could manage a purge mode without it even being a intended feature. They have a good reputation for loss of limbs on their valks, especially the legs.
-
I would assume so.

According to the macross mecha manual yf-21 page Bombs & Missiles: 4 x internal Bifors BML-02S YF-21-exclusive all-environment rapid-fire micro-missile launchers featuring exit ports from forward dorsal section to the sides of the engine nacelles (mounted in central dorsal section). Optional Armament: 4 x hard point weapon stations for all-environment FAST Pack weapon packs with micro-missiles (mounted on arm/tail and hip/underside panels) each capable of equipping 4,000 kg.

I think articulation will be one major factor with the new design. They are going all out on markings too. Personally I don't mind either of these "improvements" over the yamato version. They gave the yf-19 plenty of extras like the arm cannon, fold booster, the "hadouken" fist effect and plenty of missiles. I'm curious to see what the stand out feature will be with the 21 in terms of accessories. Either way I have faith bandai will deliver like they did with the yf-19.

Ah yes, damn my eyes!
-
Curious to see how they attach the twin gunpods to it underneath. Personally, I don't think it would make sense for it to have hard points on the wings. Warping control surfaces and onboard micro missile launchers take care of that. If they could make an attachable launched missile streaming effect like this though, I'd be all for it. Think one of the vf-1 models/toys have something similar like it already.
-
Is this likely to be a general release like the yf-19? I really hope so. They have been rare for too long.
-
So in for this! Can't wait to own a couple.
-
At last! It's got some interesting panel lines though.

Mine is on its way back to Ami Ami. They told me a full refund would be given once recieved. They also said they would refund me the return shipping cost, as long as it was under 10,000 yen and had tracking.

Ami Ami got back to me again, they said at the moment they can only offer a full refund for returning the item. Roll on the premium finish I guess. Hopefully the ankles on that version will be correct.

Sending mine back. I'd rather the money than a defective expensive toy. Knew I should have held off until the premium finish version.

Mine arrived this morning, I just lifted the flap to see if there was a difference between the two feet. Both point away from each other. As you can see, the left side points away way more than the right side one does. I'm assuming the left side has the fault maybe?

Might be worth messaging them about the fault and check they know about it. Worth checking before they ship it out to you.

Just had a reply from ami ami. They said either way they would be willing to assist me with any issue. Suppose I should check it once it arrives just to be sure. Does anyone actually own one without the fault?

Mine is still on route, I have messaged ami ami to see what they say. Might be a case of having to send it straight back. What a nightmare though.

Love that camo paint scheme. I would happily buy another 51 in those colours.

Feeling very nostalgic, I remember waiting for the newly released Yamato Ivanov sv-51 way back in 2007. I thought that thing was the business back then. She is a big bird and even in battroid mode it would dwarf any of my 1/6 Gecco figures. I need to get a stand sorted out now.

There's a reason it's my all time favorite valk, looks perfect in all three modes. I really wish they didn't put that bar covering the sensors across the face though. In the series, it had a retractable visor. It's always permanent visor down.

Looks great @whitestar glad the wings are looking nice and straight. Hopefully they will stay that way after a couple of transformations.

I had the first version, but now that I own the VF-0S pf, Shin's 0A pf will be an easy pass for me. I'm hoping to see Nora's 51 sometime soon. Speaking of ghosts, I hope bandai or Arcadia concider the X-9 ghost to add to the Mac plus ranks.
