I'd hazard a guess that someone forgot to release the design mold for the engine detail under kite/before the missile pods section in time or it simply didn't fit or work with the strike part. That area is completely empty. Oops! Why show off engine detail if that entire piece is completely missing? In the interest of keeping up with production schedules they just decided to glue it all together.

The thing is bullet proof. Outside of using a dremel and cutting it open, I have no idea how to get in there.

Another pic. Most of the super glue was concentrated on the nubs that secure the cover in place. Fortunately it’s not on the rest of panel underneath. After scraping that glue off with an xacto knife it became much easier to install and remove. Now I’m curious about the missile section...

After taking the picture I snapped it back together and immediately regretted it. It's very hard to pull apart again despite breaking the glue off. Perhaps that's why they decided to just glue it together? Who knows.

@borgified @Chaos I decided to take one for the team and take mine apart. After a lot of twisting and turning to free the panels from the glue, I can see detailing along the sides that matches what's shown in the video. It does look like the intent was to have this cover open but for whatever reason they used to much glue and sealed it off. I'm still trying to pry it apart and confirm. I'll let you know if I succeed or not.

@Sandman You're better off returning it. I just checked my Zaku and confirmed that it is a twist point. I even tried to pull it out while twisting and mine was secure in place. The joint even feels a bit loose but it doesn't at all feel like the arm would fall out at the socket.

That's a great price! Thank you!

I’m not convinced. I think you need to take pics of the vf-1 in battroid mode standing next to the Patlabor. Front. Back. Side pics. Maybe just remove the VF-1 entirely and show more pics of the patlabor and I might change my mind.

Your builds are great as usual. I'm especially impressed with you painted pilot figures. Fantastic!

I missed out on a 1/12 scale RX-78 Gundam because I thought the price was too high. It was for me then but not now. I don't want to have that same regret on this. I do hope Bandai or Arcadia does make a proper TV style SDF-1 in the future but until then... this is it.
-
Only 800 will be made in the world too. FYI
-
Not Arcadia.. But I'll be getting one of these.. 1/1200 scale. After seeing it reviewed I couldn't pass it up.

I'll probably try this on my duplicates Max 1A. I wonder if he straight up used that tamiya panel wash which I have or that water based one which has been recommended here but I can't seem to find any stateside. (I forgot the name)
-
Agreed. I think Bandai has reached my price gouging limit. Other than the gun barrel there is nothing there to justify the price.

@carlsylarHey where do you get your information from? I missed out on Char's Zaku I Metal Fix Figuration that was released recently because I usually just look for info here since you and many other share so much information.

I LOVE seeing images like this! They're always so fun to look at and show off the pose-ability of a toy better than any hero or action stance could.
-
That makes it worse. Childhood ruined. RUINED!
-
Yeah.... I really needed that image burned into my brain... I don't think I'll ever be able to look at this meme the same way again. Thanks..

Interesting. So I guess the show ‘Shameless’ could be a modern interpretation?

You're a brave soul to put that much weight on a yeti stand. I might just be camera angle but I think that long yeti arm might be bending as the nosecone of that VF is pointing up at a higher angle than the kaki.

Premium Finishes have spoiled me. I want no less from Arcadia at this point. Everything else they release just seems bland by comparison now.

Nice work!... But I think the tread on the reworked bike is facing the wrong direction. Maybe the wheels need to be reversed?
