Thanks Jenius, but Bandai's Macross kits are 1/72 scale. I'm interested in as to why kit companies that release Macross kits have not ventured into the 1/60 scale. Perhaps that might produce a conflict of interest to the companies that produce the 1/60 toys?

Hey everyone, here's something that I've asked myself ever since I started collecting Macross related toys and kits : Why on earth are there no 1/60 Macross Kits? I mean, is there a copyright thing related to this scale or something like that? I particularly purchase my figures and display them in fighter mode only, and if there were more Valk kits in this scale that would be incredible due to the possibilities of customization, having more valks, etc. I know there are the Yamato 1/60 VF-1 Kits released wich I have 2 and were a pleasure to build but was interested in the huge gap that could be filled by kits in this scale. Any thoughts? Cheers, Pulltoeject

Hey everyone, browsing ebay I found this treasure to display toys, models, etc. It's the Hakoniwagiken diorama sheets and the closest one to replicate an SDF-1 ish scene is the neo space ship one that caught my eye. Anyways, thought I'd share here maybe someone finds them useful. Ps: I already asked them if they could make one resembling the SDF-1 hangar. I'm waiting for their reply.........

Hey everyone, decided to post this since it's been about 25 years of trying to remember a certain game. It was a Sega Genesis space ship shooter game where the last boss was a black VF-1S ! It would appear in fighter mode and transform to battroid wielding a fireball chain that would make my life miserable because it would end up killing me the moment it went Balrog on me. If anyone who played this game remembers it's name, please tell me, it was loads of fun to play and you'll get a bottle of pisco sour shipped to your doorstep in appreciation. Take care and many thanks !!

Where are you from Valhary?

I don't want this to sound like a rant, just point out that it's not that time consuming, difficult or messy to customize this, or any other Valk.

You only need an airbrush/compressor kit for nail art for example wich cost about 40 dollars off ebay. Work area can be any room you choose, and the decals can be 1/72 of any modern jet for the no step markings or, printing them out can also be another ( VF-0 ones) option. But cutting those out are are more of a pain in tha *ss than cutting stickers. Even more, stickers always go yellow and acumulate dirt around the edges.

Hmmm, I've seen some tutorials on how to cast parts in metal. But, if youu are kind of handy with tools you could maybe make one out of a piece of metal. I like working with tough materials, so if You could send me a copy of your part I could probably replicate it.

I'm kinda new here, but I build models of jets and appying decals is not that difficult . There are tons of tutorials on how to apply them and seal them in with clear coats, etc, that have results as good as tampo printing. It all comes down to personal preference, but, saving lots of money making something you already have that much better looking is really satisfying. For completionists that may be a viable solution having the most amount of releases possible, but with what you have, you can always spruce it up to look more than awesome. Just my 2 cents.

No idea of the cost, but you could look up metal 3d printing. Would definitely solve that problem in the long run

That's a model builder's wet dream come true!! Leaves the Yamato 1/60 VF-1 kits in diapers. Beautiful work & bravissimo !!!

Hey Jenius, maybe you could try buying a used toy or radio like in a thrift shop or a similar place. They sometimes have those for dirt cheap that have a ton of different sized screws for what you need.

Oh, I mean general customs , as when you ship something to Chile. That's why I ship to US hotels, that way when I pick them up I conceal the box and contents in my luggage so when I go through customs on my way back in, they don't see what I'm carrying. Crew members aren't permitted to import goods but you get good after years of practice
-
Depends on the rosters I get. But about once every other month. Always have my figures sent to hotels in the US. Customs back home always opens everything to see how much they can charge you. Thats how another member ended up missing his VF-1S' gunpod....

I think it's a psychological thing, within the neighborhood of COD. as we say back in Chile, in tastes there is nothing written. Even though I only have 19 valks, all of them are unboxed, and I meticulously clean them every 2 weeks with a makeup brush and swoosh them around. Knowing that simply taking them from the cabinet to enjoy them is far more enjoyable (for me at least) than having them boxed up. I only keep them in fighter mode, never transformed, so chances of anything breaking are zero. Unless we get an atomic quake, of course.
