  1. If the Macross 29 fleet's name is spoken as Two-Nine「ツーナイン」/ (Tsū Nain), then does the same pattern apply to Macross 17 and Macross 23? (the fleets who sent two of the quarter Macrosses in Sayonara no Tsubasa) And for that matter, Battle 13 in VF-X2? (which as I recall, is not attached to a New Macross fleet but rather is a specially-assigned defense ship for Earth)
  2. Well a lot of good empathic telepathy did. No one tried to stop a regime, that took no responsibility for its own poor economic decisions, from declaring war against the galaxy. Or sensed that their chancellor was blatantly lying to everyone.
  3. Why is Rion Sakaki piloting a YF-25 at the start of Macross 30 as opposed to a production-model VF-25? It's 2060. Is he just really attached to that individual machine?
  4. Oh right, I forgot about that part. Come to think of it, though, "Mihoshi Gakuen" is the school's name, isn't it? One would think that they would come up with a more grandiose name given their elite offerings.
  5. As much as I love Frontier, I find it complete rubbish that high school students can be frontline SMS troopers. How the hell does anyone have the time to balance schoolwork and military-style training? And do these guys just get to leave school without consequence to sortie any time an enemy attacks? (Yes, I'm aware that unrealistically superhuman time management is par for the course in shōnen anime and the like, but still.) Now meanwhile in Delta, Mirage is only 18 and yet she's supposedly a veteran of the New U.N. Spacy, wherein she saw combat action against humanoid enemies. Do I smell military washout here?
  6. Is the VF-19EF the same or a different sub-model from Isamu's VF-19 in Sayonara no Tsubasa?
  7. Hey Seto Kaiba, is this Macross the Ride page your source of information on Macross Frontier's New U.N. Spacy garrison having the VF-19 in 2058?
  8. Official materials for Delta spell Mirage "Farina" Jenius's middle name as such, but many places on the Internet list Milia's maiden name (later middle name) as "Fallyna". What is the official source(s) for the "Fallyna" romanization of「ファリーナ」/ "Farīna"?
  9. Do Milia Farina Jenius and Howard Glass have the same, or different, titles in their fleet governments? (Sorry if this is a lazy question, but I have yet to have the time to get through Macross 7.)
  10. Vár syndrome began appearing with no apparent cause across the galaxy in the years following the end of the Vajra War. The Windermerean government merely exploited it to their advantage for their war of aggression. In Δ episode 6, it is mentioned that according to Chaos HQ, only outbreaks with high fold wave levels can be attributed to the Windermereans.
  11. Braccas meas vescimini.
  12. The creators have confirmed that the Marduk are Protoculture survivors?
  13. Oh wow; I'm so happy that the Greek-style "Elysion" is used. I loathe Latinized spellings compared to Greek-style spellings. But wait, a vessel named Elysion has a critical section named Aether? What gives?
  14. When you say "bio-android", do you mean an organic individual who has limited mental independence and essentially performs an automated function? I'm not aware of this term as standard sci-fi lexicon. Is it a Dragon Ball reference?
  15. Well unless Gekijō no Walküre somehow delivers a resolution to the Vár syndrome problem, it should be interesting to see how the next TV anime tries to deal with it. I wonder. It seems fitting enough to me that when the 50th anniversary rolls around, the story could be the return of the Protoculture. Kawamori-sensei is know for developing things in the long run. Perhaps if this is where he is taking the franchise's story, then maybe Vár syndrome is in fact an intentional biological experiment by surviving hidden Protohumanoids who are preparing the galaxy for conquest.
  16. Do the VF-27 and YF-29 have better battroid mode maneuverability (assuming no attachments) than other fighter models given their four nacelles? Or not really? Heh. Oddly enough I came up with this question from rewatching the climax of Sayonara no Tsubasa—which is the only time Brera's VF-27 has a Super Pack on. Oh well, you can't win everything.
  17. When Sheryl says that she's "all-natural", are we to assume that includes a perfect set of teeth? From a realistic perspective, spending time homeless as a young child surely can't have been good for her dental health.
  18. What about Chelsea Scarlett herself? Are we to assume that she was one of the many unseen VF-25A pilots fighting alongside Skull Platoon and Pixie Platoon?
  19. Y'know funny enough, Delta tried a half-assed late-stage explanation that Vár syndrome was the result of the events of Frontier, wherein the Vajra departed normal spacetime in the wake of the Vajra War. (Now, the in-universe characters could be wrong about their theory. But the show doesn't explore this.) But as Seto Kaiba here points out, Vár syndrome being caused by the Vajra's fold bacteria doesn't make any damn sense given what Frontier established about Vajra and fold bacteria. So that just blows, and a compilation movie probably won't shake that up.
  20. Am I correct in assuming that no name has been given to the Vajra homeworld? I like to think of it as "Vajra Prime", but I doubt the Macross staff name things like that.
  21. Has any canon publication detailed what the inhabitants of Macross Frontier have been up to after landing on the Vajra homeworld? (Besides what is shown in the Sheryl~Kiss in the Galaxy manga and the Macross 30 game.) I like to imagine that Island 1 would have been repurposed into a planetside "Glass City". Seems natural to honor the late Howard Glass.
