The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
Kuma Style replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The following question is going to show how out of the loop I am but.... is that the new or old BB? If it's the new maybe it's kind of a win? Regardless, I've had to get replacements and missing stuff from them before and they're good about doing it but they take forever. Like, legitimately 2-3 months later randomly showing up with no tracking ever having been given. I hope you have better luck in that regard but they'll get you sorted. That sucks.- 9240 replies

@sumyumgoy I'm glad you mentioned the Steel Legend because that's definitely one I need to pull down and photograph. Stupid underrated but really wish it had the gattling guns.

Thank you @sumyumgoy. I may honestly track this downat some point. YET another gorgeous picture. @Archer Your question isn't ignorant in the slightest particularly since a lot of these companies pack the products before letting paints properly cure and as soon as you unbox them the room fills with the smell of said paint. I don't have the answer but it's a very valid concern and something I wish I would've thought about some time ago.

The full review article and gallery for the AlphaMax D.H. Gokin Jeeg is up on KumaStyle.com: https://kumastyledesigns.com/dh-gokin-jeeg-review/ Article gives a full breakdown but overall it's an absolutely beautiful piece outright plagued with quality issues throughout both the figure and its accessories which makes for a lot of disappointment, particularly at the higher cost of it. you have to give a lot of credit to the company for them really going the distance in terms of covering so many aspects of the mecha in a single release. The end score was a 5.5 as it's just not one I can recommend in good faith. Here are some pics from the gallery portion:

@sumyumgoy How does the paint seem to hold up with play? Any signs of chipping and the like?

Thank you very much. There's a lot of personal bias towards this company having worked with them and their designs being such a favorite that MT/FPJ were legitimately the only reason I kept collecting for a few years after official classics went to hell and it's really unfortunate to see. I understand "changing times" but I really wish that they would have stuck to the classics scaled lines that gave them the popularity they had in the first place on top of not having fallen so much in terms of quality control. Per report Utopia may have been there first real oops but it feels like nothing they did in terms of Masterpiece-scaled stuff really broke through as hot items. In fact, you can still get most of them at discount today.- 9240 replies

Not being able to understand the videos really takes away a lot of value for me as a viewer and it sucks because it's such an insanely interesting topic of discussion.- 9240 replies

Now I need to refind the fixed ver. Origin Leonidas. Sad that the PerfectEffect is still available but the NeoArt isn't. Says a lot about their quality.- 9240 replies

You know...if it weren't for the scale I would've searched it ina heartbeat seeing that pic if I hadn't before. That's just a lot of real estate for a one off... With the dragon guy though I figured if it doesn't look right as a mobile suit on display I've got a freaking huge mecha dragon to display instead, lmao.

Jesus....I think that this pic is the best I've seen yet at very least in terms of capturing the color. Bit the bullet and ordered my first 1/72 with that barbatos dragon looking thing. Fingers crossed the quality is up there.

I don't really know how to read this response. Nothing personal was meant by my statement or anything; it's literally stating that Exia is a popular piece that continues to sell and that's all. My bad if it came off some kind of way. ------------------------------------------------------------ Was talking to a friend yesterday and the GN arms got brought up.... I'm really hoping they circle back and knock that out.

The showz store eventually gets to usps but it takes weeks. They ship to shipping companies here in the states that use services like fedex whatever mail that goes through them and then to usps. Usually for me it takes around 3-4 weeks to receive things.
