  1. I’m just wondering what I’m doing right over here, since all 4 of my DX figs seem to hold together quite solidly without sagging or disconnecting swing bars.
  2. Yup, the green shield means you did get the buyer protection plan.
  3. If you don't mind handling the ordering and such yourself you can use Tenso, flat ¥300 fee. Of course, they also won't talk to the seller on your behalf. But on the upside you pay for the items directly, rather than thru Tenso, so you can charge-back without Tenso giving a crap. [disclaimer: Tenso addresses are not accepted for shipping from P-Bandai/Tamashii Web Exclusive Store] Personally I keep using FromJapan, because even at ¥700 flat fee they're still cheaper than the other proxies. ZenMarket for instance doesn't charge any fee, they just charge you a percentage every time you pay for anything through them. Ends up much higher.
  4. I don't bother with it for most of my P-Bandai proxy orders, though for some stuff (like my order of 3x Sylpheed armors, or 4x DX Strike packs) I'll put it on anyway as the order is expensive enough to warrant it. Things like a $20 HG Leo kit, it's not really worth it.
  5. My rule, when it comes to FromJapan is I only use basic forwarding when it's something from Bandai or another reliable retailer. Anything that's questionable, like a Yahoo Japan Auction seller that's worth paying proxy and international shipping for is worth paying the extra $4 for.
  6. I've spent thousands with Mandarake, shipped to California. Keep in mind that they will not accept credit cards from some regions (including California). However, after I'd bought a few things from them they let me start using my CC. Also their address input has issues registering my home address (rejects it), so that might also be your issue. Try a different address, such as a family member or a work address if you can receive mail at work.
  7. They had the DX 1/48 Max VF-1A on "sale" for a bit at the MSRP of ¥18,000. It's back up to ¥24,000 now. There's also the usual Arcadia Milia discount.
  8. After looking at the images, it might be a top-coat shifting the color rather than actual paint. A matte top-coat will change the way plastic looks quite a lot. Also, has anyone seen confirmation that it is the same shade of blue underneath everything?
  9. To be completely honest, it actually looks worse than a modern Bandai HG. Closer to the stuff coming out in the 90s/early 00s.
  10. Rule #1 of collecting: let people like things. If you don't want to buy it, don't buy it.
  11. Oh, they're panel lining it? I wonder if it'll be top-coated as well?
  12. Lucky for me I have an old version to transform, and the PF can stay in one form. Man, that looks awesome, and they've finally spruced up their PF box as well.
  13. If you signed up for the buyer protection plan it's supposed to cover them never receiving the item, even if you don't pay for it until they ship to you.
  14. Impressive, I've just got the 8x. Plus 2 light-up fold boosters, another that's sun-damaged and non-functional that's disassembled for repairs, and a pair of YF21 w/ supers.
  15. I figure we’ll get a scout regult P-Bandai release.
  16. Wow, they only offered me half, which I didn't take.
  17. The Arcadia one looks more anime accurate, and better in fighter mode. The Bandai looks more realistic, and better in Battroid (plus it doesn't have weak ankles). ...Which is why I have 2 Arcadias, 4 Bandais... Plus a Bandai VF-19 Advance, and Yamato anniversary YF-19. My plus collection may be a bit out of hand.
  18. I'm in the same boat, I'm actually out of space to store my boxes unless I start keeping them in the unattached garage. My plan is to build model backlog to free space, but that's only a temporary measure. I suppose I'll probably have to let some things go, like one or two of my four bandai DX YF-19 figures.
  19. I checked Amazon Japan, and they are not offering flat-rate shipping (as of last I looked).
  20. From experience, NY eventually delivers. Their customer service sucks, but unless it's a perfect storm like the 31A you'll get your order. Even then, you'll probably get your order.
  21. Well, looking at my collection, it's obviously the YF-19. I think I have 8x 1/60 transforming ones, plus 3x VF-19s, plus various non-transforming figures, diecasts, and model kits (still need to build my Hasegawa 1/48 w/ etched parts).
  22. The problem on the Monster isn't the price, it's the shipping. MSRP was 18000Yen, and it was available after release at MSRP for a loooooooong time. As to must-haves: Glaug Regult Spartan Defender Monster VF-1J Armored (though the aftermarket on this one's a bit ridiculous, looking at $200)
  23. If you haven't already paid, just "forget" to pay for the order on time and they'll cancel it for you.
  24. One warning, the Detolf's shelves are rated to 13lbs, so careful about how much you stick on the same level as that monster.
  25. You forgot a pilot that doesn't rattle around in the seat... Or a TV release with more than 2 TV fixed-pose hands...
