Yeah, it only gets difficult when you start getting to the limits of the materials, but these are mostly plastic rather than metal so there's a lot of room to strengthen. Of course the converse is that nothing is ever 100% durable or foolproof, some idiot somewhere will always be able to break it or misuse it regardless of what you do.

Just got an email from Arcadia: Roughly translated, says they'll be shipping sets of L+R legs to people in Japan who requested repairs. Full (Google) translation below.

If you don't use the supports to keep the arms stable, I have no doubt the elbow joints will eventually give out. Those rotating cannons are big and heavy. The legs ought to be fine if it's on a stand, there's not that much additional weight there, and those joints are made to hold the entire figure. I wouldn't leave it free-standing in battroid though, no way it'll hold up over time.

I'm really not regretting waiting for the books, rather than watching the show at this point.- 178 replies

Not going to be any time soon unfortunately, resin is completely new to me and I have a gunpla backlog approaching 150 kits that's taking up more space. Plus I haven't even set up my airbrush or spray booth (portable) at my new condo yet.

One of the holes in my 1/60 VF lineup, that needs to be filled. Next need the VF-9 (well, to build the resin kit I have thanks to @Xigfrid and @valhary) and a VF-17.

I bought the original GFFMC from the US P-Bandai site, cost $277 iirc, so this one is roughly the same cost.- 6020 replies

Also I think some people are waiting on the fix parts to do a really in-depth review.

A 1/60 Ghost would be amazing, but I doubt it'll be an accessory, it's pretty big.

The YF-19 wasn't so bad, I managed to PO 4 of them. Hopefully the YF-21 won't be that much worse. Sure, we haven't had a -21 since the Yamato (whereas Arcadia made a YF-19 and Bandai made the VF-19 Advance). However the 21 is less popular than the 19.

The Regult did, but the Glaug and the desdroids did not. The missile regults didn't sell-out the P-Bandai release either, IIRC.
-
Well, if you ask me: keep both? Really, the Bandai YF-19 is nicer to transform and poses better in battroid than the Arcadia does (damn weak ankles!). Plus all the extra stuff like the arm weapons, pinpoint barrier punch, fold booster, etc... The Arcadia is king of fighter mode anime-accurate look though, thing's just beautiful.
-
3.5: enough missiles to blot out the stars.
-
Even if they did have the mold, re-issuing the YF-21 at (conservative estimation) 50%-100% higher cost than Bandai, depending on tampo, seems like a poor business decision.
-
It may not match the aesthetic, or the Yamato, but I'm honestly happy to have the shorter hip armor. That's one area on the Yamato that got in the way a lot when posing. Honestly they were a bit overly long as well, shouldn't be hitting the ground with a straight leg.

Good, that means I might actually be able to order one! (Kidding, slightly, managed to get the original GFFMC Wing Zero via US P-Bandai site)- 6020 replies

Gift set: VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1A Kakizaki? That's one way to get people to buy Kakizaki.

Looks like.
-
That's kinda the point, supposed to be reminiscent of the zentradi pods. Also the pilot is a zentradi.
-
Man, those thrusters are a wee bit chunky, feel like they could do with a 10-15% shrink and being spaced a tiny bit wider.
-
Well, if you look at the lineart, they're actually not lined up. Still looks like Bandai made the engines a bit too close together.
-
They might re-issue super/strike parts in the future with more inserts, or just include the inserts themselves with the VF-1, if it's one that needs a new insert.
-
Interesting, looks like the legs on the Bandai are slightly bigger, but the larger change is that the legs are much closer together. I'll have to dig up some screenshots to see which is more accurate, but the YF-21 has even more anime magic than the YF-19. They might both be accurate.
