Well, if you want to spend that much on a Roy 1S, there's going to be a Hachette VF-1S collection. Will probably end up costing more than the Nu even.

FYI, there's already a thread for this in another section of the forum, as this is technically a model kit.

Just got my Eva 02 from USA Gundam Store. Definitely like the 02 is the better looking figure, though the 01 has the better box.

Yup, got my 4 sets from FromJapan in the mail on Monday.

I got lucky. Requested shipping on mine last Thursday, got shipping confirmation on Saturday, and showed up this morning via EMS.

Since nobody's mentioned it yet, I am very surprised how far down the strike cannons will rotate. The first joint allows them to go a full 90-degrees, and there's a second joint as well that will point them another 45degrees or so down, well past what they can actually achieve when mounted to the figure.

I have so far bought 7 DX VF-1 at MSRP. 3x 1J (one gifted to a friend), 2x 1A, and 2x 1S (though one had to be proxy shipped via Tenso). In other news, just put the strike parts on one of my VF-1S figures, and I have to say these go on smooth and stay on pretty well. Much easier to put on than either my HMR or Arcadia versions.

I'll point out that if you're going to compare quality/innovation at the time of release, you should also compare costs at the time of release. The DX is actually quite inexpensive considering how prices have gone up overall since the Yamato releases.

She's also ¥25,080 Sheryl is probably my favorite of all the Macross idols, and that figure does look gorgeous, but it's a pass for me. I'll stick to ones I can actually display around other people.

3 for F/G/B clean 3 for F/G/B with strike packs 1 for GBP 1 for MISB 1 backup in case of defects

I'm more interested in the new design. The 31 is a marvel of engineering, and a great figure, but I didn't really like the design much compared to the 19 or the 25, or even the 262.

Wow, that's even more expensive than the shipping for the 1/20 gerwalk model kit. I'm really not regretting skipping this. Even if it was a Roy VF-1S at that size I'd have trouble justifying the cost.

I'll be honest, it has more articulation than I was expecting. The amount of internal and external detail is is absolutely detrimental to the articulation possibilities. Takes up space that can otherwise be used for clever articulation methods like sliding/collapsing panels and hidden double-joints. Not to mention how absolutely huge the inner structure of the limbs is.

They gave it two left feet. That's actually what the problem was.

The Third Party Gundam Thread

The Steel Legend Kshatriya is pretty awesome, I was blown away by the quality on the paint/tampo work. Hell, it had better nub removal than my Bandai figures.- 2156 replies

Those are just Ikea wardrobes, one fixed shelf in the middle and everything else adjustable. $40 flat delivery fee. Won't survive being moved, but cheap and it works.

You can't see the rest of the two full-width shelves in the back full of gunpla kits, or the HG Neo Zeong and 1/20 Gerwalk kits. Part of the reason I chose my condo was the walk-in closet in the second bedroom. This is said closet now. I need to get back to building gunpla kits, and clear some more space that way. I suppose I could put empty figure boxes in storage...but...I don't want to.

My detolfs are slated for Macross stuff, I only have 2. Most of my stuff is on bookshelves which aren't as deep. Also there's some space issues due to the number of figures, and about twice that number in completed model kits.

Do you have the Arcadia replacement parts? If so, they come with a little pamphlet of instructions. Overview: Not show in in instructions: rotate the leg 90-degrees so the screw cover is facing an accessible direction. Take a flat-head precision screwdriver and pry the screw cover off (the replacement kit comes with spares if it gets damaged.) Unscrew the head with a phillips (+) precision screwdriver Separate the two halves of the clamshell, the replacement kit comes with new ones in case you damage it Take the new leg (make sure it's the correct one!) and assemble half the clamshell onto it as shown by the pictures on the instructions. This will involve a pin with one end knurled (face it the same direction as the pin on the leg you removed), one of the two clamshell pieces, and a small plastic insert which is the ratchet for the gerwalk joint. Take the leg and half-clamshell, fit it to the remaining upper part of the leg on the kit, and stick the other half of the clamshell on. Squeeze it until there are no gaps. It requires a bit of force to get it closed fully. Make sure it's the right leg, and facing the right direction. Insert the screw, and tighten. Tighten more, it's very tight, had to take some pliers to my screwdriver handle to get it tightened down all the way. Put the new screw cover on. If it doesn't fully seat (mine didn't the first time), you need to tighten the screw more. Ta~Da~

Just got shipping notification from USAGundam Store on my Eva unit 02. Can't wait, though I have no idea where or how I'll display both units.

Bolt’s Blt comp entry#1 Neo Grade VF1 Armored Valkyrie
Sanity is Optional replied to Bolt's topic in The Workshop!
I think those are dry transfers, you tape the transfer sheet down at one end where the marking will be in position, and then rub it and the marking transfers to the model. Flip it up on the tape, and if you missed any bits fold it back down and transfer those.
