Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Sanity is Optional replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Ah, but if Bandai makes it, it'll have 20 hidden hinges and extensions and be able to breakdance and do splits. Also roughly 20% of the surface will be covered in tampo. -

Gotta be the TV one. How can you Daedalus punch without a Daedalus? -
There was another for 25,000 unopened, but someone already got it.

Hachette Collection 1/24 VF-1S (subscription collectable)

Hell with it, I signed up on their website directly, to have it shipped to my Tenso address. -
Pretty much, buy what you want, Bandai will make whatever sells. There's no requirement to buy a release if you don't like it.

Eh, I have zero interest in the Exia, but they still keep making it anyway.

Mainly I just remember the opening music.

I just want a VF-1S Roy, either TV or Movie version. After that, whatever they decide to make is good, no special requests.
-
I assume it was mostly due to being able to re-use the a good portion of the Arbalest/Laevatein's molds.

I've done that a few times with my carrier. It's part of why I sign up for text alerts. I've had delivery exception notifications a good half an hour before he even comes by. On some level I understand because Christmas season and large condo complex, but still annoying sometimes. At least I'm able to reliably catch him at the next set of mailboxes down since he follows the same route through the complex every time.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015

To be fair, the leg issue on the SV-51 was not immediately apparent visually, so I can see it sneaking through QC. Especially if the factory they hired was actually ignoring the assembly instructions, or trying to cover up an error in the molds (both the L and R sides ought to be molded together, so having a bunch of one side and none of the other speaks of a systematic production issue). In other words, I'm not blaming Arcadia for that one so much as their chosen manufacturing company. Especially as they did make repair kits (which I'm sure cost quite a lot if they weren't able to strongarm the factory into doing it gratis). -
Wow, makes me appreciate my local post office (which is 1 star on google, because it's not a retail location). Went in because they scanned my package as delivery attempted, but I never got a door tag. Talked with them a bit, told them the rough size of the box, turns out the label had fallen off entirely and it was sitting in a bin unmarked. Managed to pick it up anyway, as the worker wasn't busy and was willing to help me out. Definitely grateful, as that was a $200 model kit off of Mandarake.

Eh, the specialty UV LEDs (we use some where I work) are some pretty severe UV. Very high amounts, to the point they require UV filtering eyewear and at least one needed a heatsink due to the wattage it was using.
-
That would be nice, though I'd rather get a Codarl first. Unfortunately the Laevatein and Arbalest seem to have sold poorly, and their aftermarket is at or below MSRP, so unlikely we'll see any more FMP stuff. At least I've got my 2 Gernsbacks.

Well, now I'm looking into UV films to stick over my bulbs, because no way in hell I'm going back to "soft white" from "sunlight" LEDs.
-
There's pretty much always isolated incidents of breakage, it's when there's trend (like the DX YF-19 hip joints) that you need to worry. We just see more of the isolated incidents now, what with the internet.
-
I'm keeping quite restrained at 2 of each DX VF-1 release. Unlike the 10 1/60 scale VF and YF-19 figures.
-
I'm looking forward to some metal builds that aren't 00 or SEED. So, pretty much the Evas at this point.

But with 2 you can display in 2 modes at the same time! Seems pretty clear to me that the DX and the strike pack were optimized and intended primarily for Battroid mode. The articulation, the proportions, etc... I don't have anything else that comes close, even the other DX valkyries have posing issues. Wingpack on the 31 and weak arms, torso and hips on the 25/27 for instance. Heck, the instructions for putting on the strike pack even tell you to do it in battroid, rather than fighter.
-
Looks like mine got sent to my old address, but I ought to be able to get it sometime this week anyhow.
-
I think it's not just production quantities, it's also because the 31A is both a "low-vis" paint scheme and also a different wing design which mimics the popular YF-30.

One the one hand, I wouldn't pay even $400 for a 31A. On the other, I wouldn't sell any of my 3 for $500. So take from that what you will.
