I just hope that they don't use those Max/Miria schemes. I much prefer the ones from the master file that are white underneath rather than red/blue all over.

Could be due to box size, if it doesn't fit into one of HLJs normal box sizes well, the calculator is probably using a hilariously oversized box.

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
Sanity is Optional replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
I think they're trying different types of "premium", trying to find the sweet spot in features vs price. Obviously the PF of the SDF-1 and VF-0D is going to add more of a premium to the price than the VF-1 PFs. But will people want the appearance enough to pay it? The VF-4 might be their attempt to find a middle ground, as it adds the panel lining that wasn't on the VF-1, but doesn't go all the way with paint apps or weathering like the SDF-1 or VF-0D. It ought to be less damaged by being transformed as well. -
Got mine from CD Japan, who was unable to get me replacement legs.

Probably helps that the movies are actually accessible to the general public. Trying to find one of the Marvel comic book runs that isn't dependent on knowledge of prior works isn't straightforward to someone who's not already into the comic book scene. Comic books are not the easiest form of media to get into what with the decades of baggage.

This is the same thing I did as well, was able to get legs.

Arcadia 1/60 VF-4A ‘Flashback 2012’ Premium Finish & Regular Release
Sanity is Optional replied to no3Ljm's topic in Toys
The panel lines look just about perfect to me, as far as basic panel lining (which is not weathering) goes. It's a matter of personal taste, but grey on white is meant to simulate shadows, not grime or dirt. It's just to highlight the lines and provide the illusion of multiple pieces. As far as needing to worry about smudging, that really depends what type of ink or paint was used, and if it's been sealed in with a topcoat. I'm guessing that it's not representative of the final version, as they're using stickers rather than tampo.- 1112 replies

Unlikely, I think that the 1S had a much higher production volume than the 1J, and that the 1S and 1A have both diluted the market for the 1J. It'll take them quite a while at this point to creep back up, probably years. Also just due to production volumes, and the special flight stand, the 1J will forever be a higher price than the 1S.
-
Before the 1S came out, the 1J was going for $450+shipping. Seems like the prices have dropped on the 1J as well.

Good to see the price isn't spiking as bad as the 1J did. Hopefully this means less scalping on the next one to be released.

Arcadia 1/60 VF-4A ‘Flashback 2012’ Premium Finish & Regular Release
Sanity is Optional replied to no3Ljm's topic in Toys
The VF-0D is both panel lined and weathered. It seems like Arcadia is trying to figure out exactly how premium their premium finish should be. Between just extra tampo like the VF-1 figures, or matte coating+paint like the SDF-1, or full-on weathering like the VF-0D.- 1112 replies

I think that'll be a kit, rather than a finished figure.
-
One thing to keep in mind is that the name is in English, which means that the average Japanese person (including the people who decided on the name, most likely) at best have a general idea of the meaning of the words. Definitely not anything going into connotations or whatnot.

Finally they're using a Macross girl rather than a generic girl. Also nice to see that for the VF-25 they're going to have a Super variant available. Next I want a Tornado Sheryl, or Armored Ranka. edit; Yeah, I'm down for one of these.

That's a resin garage kit, not an assembled painted figure. Just a FYI.
-
I have only one issue with the RG Tallgeese, the lower legs are too thick. Otherwise it's a great kit, though the posability is a bit limited for the legs and gun.

All my stuff gets opened and inspected; if I ever want it opened, better to do it up front when I can still do a return.

The Anycubic Photon's on sale right now for under $250. Just a FYI if you want a cheap entry-level resin printer. Really tempted myself.- 16 replies

Well, that seems to come mainly down to where the battles took place. Delta used a lot of in-atmostphere scenes, plus some ground-level fights. Frontier was almost entirely space, excepting a couple small ones inside island 1, and the stuff on that planet mid-way through the season.
