Nah, there's a third type: properly assembled, but with a giant piece of flash or a nub on one of the parts that keeps it from working properly. -

Retail was 23k (before tax), so the prices honestly aren't bad. -

Well, shipping request is in with HLJ for one via DHL. Still waiting for notification from nin-nin on the other. -
Odd, she seems to peg in fairly securely, at least for mine.

If they don't auto-bill you, or it doesn't work, you'll get an email. -

Can't wait for it. Been too long since my last hit of Macross merch. -
Asking about nippon yasan cancel order after waiting for more than 1 year

Oh yeah, they're off my list as well, aside from some items I know they won't have issues getting stock for (like Arcadia PF web releases). Heck, I'd go with nin-nin over them, since nin-nin at least refunds people. -

They were actually pretty good, up until the 31A situation. Even then, they actually did eventually deliver all remaining outstanding orders somehow. However, that particular incident called into question some of their business practices, including pre-sales for unsourced figures they had to find after release. Nowadays they're practically not even hiding that they over-sell their stock, and then leave people in the lurch. -
Ah, that would explain why I'm not noticing it. Just checked, one item went from ¥11,380 to ¥10,345 (¥1035 reduction, 10%). This is a 3rd party sold item. Another went from ¥7978 to ¥7924, or going from 10% to 9.25% tax. This is a pre-order sold by AJ. So it seems that they are including sales tax directly in the item price, but only for items sold by AJ directly. The above are not existing orders, they're prices of things in my cart after setting a Cali shipping address. Well, I guess at least Mandarake/Jungle/HLJ/CDJ/AmiAmi/HS still don't charge tax.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

Going to be a bit, the next arc after the movie one is still ongoing currently in the manga, unless I forgot one. -
Just checked making a new pre-order via AJ (item sold by AJ). No state tax (California address). Seems to be inconsistent at best, and likely extremely rare or a mistake. Or the particular person ordered over $800 in items together.
-
Unlikely, haven't ever paid state sales tax on Amazon Japan before, and Amazon Japan is separate from US Amazon. Companies are only obligated to collect state sales tax when they have a physical presence in the state. My invoice shows no sales tax, only item and shipping charges.

Watched the Made In Abyss Movie. Most cutesy nightmare fuel ever. I hope the author is seeing a therapist. I also hope their therapist has a therapist. -
Mine might have gotten sent early, since they stuck in some parts for my VF-1S, it arrived without wing hardpoints and I said they could ship them with the Misa I had on order.
-
Yup, bought it direct.

Kitz Concept Toy Thread 2.0
Sanity is Optional replied to Stampeed Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Figured I'd update this now that my "Lisa Hayes" arrived. On the whole, I am quite impressed. Comes with 5 sets of hands, 6 faces, and 2 options for hair (with and without headset). Also comes with a laptop which has a hinge and folds open/closed. Articulation is much better than I expected, the skirt and blouse are both a rubbery plastic that can bend and flex. This means she can actually bend her legs 90degrees forward, with the skirt bending to accommodate. Without any seam lines, other than the gaps on the sides of the skirt between the front and back sections. The shoulders can go a bit above horizontal, and the elbows bend roughly 150 degrees. She can stand on her own high-heels, even without a supporting stand.- 2130 replies

My Kitz Concepts "Lisa" came in today. On the whole, it's much better than I expected. Looks good, and both the skirt and blouse are flexible plastic so even in a skirt you get pretty much full articulation. Even manages to stand without support on a pair of high-heels, so decent stability/balance also.

I think Bandai severely undersized their pilots. Though Hikaru is pretty short, and Spike is pretty tall canonically. Of course, part of it is these are hand-drawn, and they tend to try and make the pilot appear the right size for the vehicle, while sticking to the vehicle size scaling more than the pilot scaling.
