  1. Well, I just picked up a PF Roy VF-1S Strike from Jungle in essentially new condition, a bit under $400 shipped. A DX Roy would be ~$270, plus whatever market is for the strike packs. Arcadia is slightly cheaper, not by that much though.
  2. Personally I found that once I bought a condo, my scale of money just went out the window. Sure I might care about an extra $100, but at this point $20 difference is more about the principle than anything else. I still do the pre-order madness, but it's more because I can.
  3. It doesn't help that some people conflate the (voice) actor with their character so much.
  4. Well, from my personal perspective, the Bayverse aesthetic, horrible underside kibble, panel-origami, and complete screen-innaccuracy in the transformation kills any value to the transformation. May as well just have 2 separate figures that are each more accurate (and more poseable). So that's at least one person who avoids the product line because of the mechanical stupidity of the Bay designs. Of course, could be that Macross designs have spoiled me, or could be because I'm a mechanical engineer. Either way, one less person buying TF schlock.
  5. I designed one of the alternate pods. It's still a lot of work to do the painting and detailing, not to mention sanding+filling on some of the 3D printed parts. It's nice to just have something in a box that's already assembled, painted, detailed, and probably has a better fit as well. I think I ended up spending over $100 on high quality resin prints of the pod I designed, and it still needs to be painted and glued together...
  6. I was mainly referring to representations of the film transformers, in their film forms. The Bay aesthetic is flat out impossible to make a screen-accurate transforming toy from, and frankly I do consider that to have hurt the mass-market appeal. It meant that the conversion rate between movie watchers and people who bought movie toys/figures was likely lower than if the two had matched up more closely.
  7. I blame the bayformers designs, most of the toys of which aren't even transforming. And the ones that do are screen inaccurate panel-origami.
  8. No chance in hell it’s that low. Just because the design is old, doesn’t mean it’s super cheap to produce.
  9. I would absolutely be down for that.
  10. I’ll probably be skipping this release, wake me up when we get the new 31 models and super packs from the upcoming movie.
  11. Oh, they do now, but they didn't last April when I ordered it.
  12. Yeah, Jungle wouldn't ship FedEx/DHL/UPS and it took until Feb of this year before they gave in and let it ship Surface. Now I need to replace the cracked shoulder hinges with the shapeways replacements.
  13. Finally got this Weathered DYRL Roy 1S I ordered from Jungle In April 2020
  14. According to google translate: "The fold projection unit can be deployed. A normal container is also included."
  15. Well, Berserk has finally ended, but not the way anyone hoped. Thanks for the years decades of amazing art and stories.
  16. Well, could always post in the Wanted section, people here might be willing to let one go. Heck, I've got 4, and only one's come out of the plastic trays. Doubt I'm alone in having spares either.
  17. Odd, might be unlucky, or maybe it was a bad batch of plastic. Could try gluing it back together if it's just a snap. If it's full-on disintegration, you could try getting a replacement gold runner.
  18. Well, not everyone's, since my original release VF-31J is fine. The horn did break when I moved though, need to glue that back together. Did you use any paint or panel liner (Tamiya, for instance) on the gold plastic? Tamiya panel liner especially does not play nice with Bandai plastic.
  19. Was it the gold piece? Gold plastic is notoriously brittle. I've only snapped one part building macross kits (VFG, VF-1, VF-25, VF-27, VF-31, SV-262), the neck part of the VF-27. Glued it back together, reinforced with a rod and kept building. So, you may have just been unlucky with that particular kit/runner being more brittle than usual.
  20. I'll be stacking mine underneath the Star Destroyer box. Not bald yet, but give me a few years!
  21. Soooooooo...... 3 Strikes and you're out?
  22. Big box, and the finished thing is almost 2ft x 3ft.
  23. So, I just found out there's a LEGO store like 5miles from my condo, and went over. And now I have a UCS Millenium Falcon and no idea where I can put it.
  24. Higher price point, Arcadia releases aren't scalper-bait like Bandai are, and let's face is the Bandai are just nicer figures for a lower price typically (VF-1 vs VF-1 MSRP).
