  1. Wow, yeah, that’s quite a bit thicker. Guess that’s the price we pay for beefy arms rather than noodles.
  2. ...I got mine from P-Bandai us website. Tried via a proxy, but they filled their orders.
  3. I like the new arms, significant improvement with the larger and bulkier profile there.
  4. I like the new arms, my biggest problem with the look of the VF-31 was always the tiny spindly arms.
  5. Also depends on the release. web exclusives are almost always pay up front, while normal releases are by retailer. The ones selling at msrp are almost always pay on release for those.
  6. Wow, even at almost double initial price, they're sold out. I knew it was going to be a high-demand kit, but dayum.
  7. No, I said that Bluefin is the distributor for web exclusives, and that for normal releases Bandai sells to a number of retailers. Which they do, even if it's through Bluefin in NA. The point is that as a consumer you buy web exclusives through Bluefin (who now manages P-Bandai.com US site) and you buy normal releases through normal retailers. BBTS are just be one of many retailers selling Bandai products.
  8. Distributor is not the same as retailer. They distribute to retailers in the US through Bluefin, which is why the Gunpla kits sold at Barnes and Noble or Tower Hobbies have bluefin stickers. There are also some retailers who buy directly from overseas distributors rather than Bluefin.
  9. Bluefin is a distributor for web/limited/P-Bandai releases. For normal releases, Bandai sells to a large number of retailers.
  10. So, a bit under 30 hours after I got shipping notice from DHL, I've got my pair. Slight damage (crumpling) to one corner of one of them, through the bubblewrap and shipping box (wish they'd have put the box on the outside and bubblewrap inside, they did it the other way...) Looks good, but it's too damn hot right now to pull it out and do poses. Maybe when it gets under 80F.
  11. The 4" is a very rough estimate, I don't feel like having to un-do and re-do the whole process of sticking her inside the tachikoma, it took a little while to get everything lined up.
  12. Once again, DHL is ridiculously fast shipping. Package shipped out of Japan on Monday (there). Scheduled to arrive this evening (Tuesday) in California. Accounting for time difference, that's a little over 2 days.
  13. Well, I'd put the figure at about 4" tall? Not sure how tall she's supposed to be. Comparing to the 1/12 KC figures, I'd put her somewhere around 1/20ish?
  14. So I bought 2, and looks like my all-in cost is ¥55,760, including proxy fees, extra packaging, and shipping with DHL. About $510 for both. Checked my card statements, looks like the exchange rate was worse on the first payment. $535 for both.
  15. Significantly cheaper than the Naked Major statue on page 1: My Variable Action Hi-Spec Tachikoma (w/ Motoko Kusanagi) showed up today. Comparison shots vs the old Bandai Chogokin Tachikoma. New one has a lot more articulation available. It also comes with a Motoko figure, who can fit inside the spider abdomen, with it closed back up. (She was inside in all the above images) Motoko figure is pretty well articulated. Thigh and bicep twist; double-jointed knees and elbows, ball jointed hips, head, and mid-torso; and figma-style shoulders. Ankles are simple hinge. Almost all the Tachikoma joints are figma style as well, plus the top of the body can pivot around vs the legs. Also comes with cannon for the main gun, and alternate "fingers" for the legs, as well as fixed wheels. The current ones are figma-jointed curved figures arranged in a wheel shape.
  16. Variable action Hi-Spec. Just managed to finish cramming the Motoko figure inside the tachikoma and posing it in driving mode. Impressive amount of (necessary) articulation on the Motoko, all double-joints plus thigh and bicep twist and lots of ball joints.
  17. Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with the Tachikoma & Major Kusanagi figures that showed up today.
  18. Looks like my proxy shipped my pair out via DHL, ought to be here in a couple days. Waiting is hard…
  19. Also available in tsundere redhead version: https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?scode=TOY-SCL3-33140&rank=
  20. The art is fine, except for the character models, which are severely dated and lacking in texture. The music doesn't fit. The plot feels much more like an Alita ripoff than Blade Runner, and the teaser points to it being somewhat combat-heavy. All in all, not a promising first look, but still room to turn it around.
  21. I'm just going to stick mine with the 1/60 display and call it a day.
  22. Mine hasn't even shipped out from the proxy yet, probably going out on Monday. I can wait... I NEED IT NOW!
