  1. Fortunately not much need for a quick sale. The list of what I'm selling off is over 150 entries long. I'll put up a few for sale threads once I'm done pricing everything out.
  2. Thanks! That's at least a baseline, $50 or so before international shipping and proxy fees for a used one. So like $80ish might be reasonable for one That's in good condition then?
  3. Does anyone have an idea what the current going price is for a Doyusha 1:144 diecast VF-19a? I am putting together a list of things to sell after moving, and can't find any recent listings, aside from $150 out of stock on ebay.
  4. I see you skipped the Bandai 1:72 transforming VF-1. That was a good call, it’s awful.
  5. Well, I'll give it a shot through my proxy, given the amount they're going to charge on the US P-bandai store will probably be well over $300
  6. I have a set if you want to borrow for a comparison. Since we're in the same area.
  7. I built up transforming VF-27, VF-31, and SV-262 kits (and the craptacular VF-1), and would definitely take a 1/100 parts-former over 2 of the 3. The SV-262 is just great, however.
  8. VF-0S PF for $1000, or 0D? Wondering since I have a 0D PF I need to sell off (and a non PF). Need to reduce my collection for space reasons.
  9. Going to try my luck with a proxy order, which was $300 (pre-shipping) vs the $470 US P-Bandai would have cost after tax+shipping. [Edit] Proxy wasn't able to get an order, so looks like I pay the Bandai USA tax.
  10. Lots of us around here, maybe we should do a norcal Macross Convention one of these days?
  11. I'll be honest, I'd love one, but it really depends on how much it costs. The fact that you are planning to produce via 3d printing, rather than casting makes me worry a bit about the price. It looks great, and I do hope I can get a set.
  12. Matte/gloss, I think it depends on the paint scheme. For the more "racecar" paintjobs, like Delta squadron, and maybe the "hero" VF-27s I can see them with a gloss to go with the hot rod paintjobs. For the grunt paintjob like the VF-171 and VF-31A a matte definitely looks better.
  13. Just wondering. Does anyone remember which 31/accessory set came with the missiles in a bag, rather than the tray? Boxing up my figures and putting some up for sale, and for the life of me I can't remember where this pair of missiles from one of my 31s came from.
  14. With how poorly the sv-262 was received and sold nobody should be surprised it never got released again. Bandai is risk-averse. I'm just glad that the poor DX reception didn't torpedo the 1/72 model kits (which were much nicer to transform).
  15. I have one of the original Threezero Patlabor figures, and it gets an A grade from me. Even has fabric joint covers that look good. Hefty, solid, poseable, gimmicks, hits all the right notes. Only company I've been more impressed with is CCS (specifically their Gurren Lagann, which is amazing)
  16. Only though a proxy, but yes. Mercari is just fine, but IIRC they won't ship internationally.
  17. Mandarake had one last night for ¥50,000. Looks like it's already been sold though.
  18. Mine shipped out as well. Alongside the ocean diorama base.
  19. Based on Arcadia's statements, it actually is what they cost, plus what is likely a larger percentage share for the vendor to justify them carrying something that sells slower/ is a higher risk to stock. The curse of being a smaller business: Smaller volume means higher per-unit production costs Smaller company means less bargaining power with stores, less marketing. Lower consumer demand, no "premium" branding due to less well known company All of the above means that vendors want higher profit margins. As a (rectally extracted) example, say a figure sells from Bandai to HLJ at ¥10,000 and HLJ charges ¥12,000, HLJ has a profit margin on the sale of 20%. Being a Bandai toy, it will likely sell well, and HLJ anticipates it won't cost them much in time/storage to make that 20%. A similar toy might cost Arcadia ¥12,000 to make. To get the same profit margin the MSRP would have to be ¥14,400. However, if HLJ expects that it will take 2x as long to sell, and is more of a risk for them to stock, they'll likely want a higher profit margin, say 40% which puts the MSRP at ¥16,800. So the Arcadia one ends up being way more expensive.
  20. I don't think it's the cost of the tampo as much as the added cost on the figures makes them real shelf-warmers. Moreso for some valks than others, but who here remembers how long the Max+Milia premiums and the VF-4 premium sat around at HLJ with constant discounts?
