Amazon Japan has really low international shipping prices. It's awesome. And now I have 4 on order...
-
That's cheap, ¥25,000+¥1,200 in shipping. ¥2,140 less than AmiAmi shipped.
-
Just got hit with AmiAmi payment request. ¥28,340 / $252.99 shipped with DHL. Small packet not available.
-
It helps having Chrome with built-in translation function to navigate their website, if you want to give it a shot going forwards.
-
Their shipping is both cheap and fast, I ordered the delta movie from, Amazon Japan and it showed up in like 3days for ~$12 of shipping. They used DHL.

From the Tamashii page on the YF-19:

Looking at the design, this is something that probably should have more diecast running down the leg. A larger interface area would reduce stress on the front of the intake from the (relatively small) metal insert twisting. If you do try and 3D print a replacement, I'd try for a left-right shell rather than top/bottom, it ought to hold up better to the forces involved in transformation and posing the legs. Definitely glue it together for some extra strength.
-
It looks like the intake section around the metal hip piece broke?

Looks like NY is out of stock already. Anyone who wants to get this post release better have a web-monitor set up, or be stalking this thread.
-
NY is getting their gouge on. ¥29,800 worth of gouge edit: I guess it's not that bad as far as NY goes, only ~20% markup over MSRP
-
I kinda want to get another Arcadia now, since it's got a bit more anime accurate look. Hopefully there's a few of them showing up soon cheap(er) on Mandarake or the like.
-
I decided to call it good with just 3 (plus the Yamato&Arcadia YF-19s, and the Bandai VF-19Adv I already have). Now the question is which I want to pose with the YF-21, and if I want to swap on one of the light-up fold boosters I have. None of mine are paid ahead, so in about 2days I'm getting dinged for all 3 at once.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Sanity is Optional replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
There's not many mecha franchises to begin with. Gundam's obviously most prolific. The only other one than Gundam and Macross I can think of is Full Metal Panic (unless you count super-robot shows like Mazinger and whatnot). If you're going by toys then there's a few franchises like hexagear and frame arms. -
This is going to sting some, I've got 3 pre-orders at different places. (Ami-Ami, CDJ, HLJ)

You know, someone put up models and shapeways links for a 3D printed missile pod that can replace the charger/gun pod...

So far, it's overpriced compared to Mandarake and Jungle for the most part. In some cases, considerably.
-
You're not the only one with that thought. The 31A may get an armored pack itself, however, as it was shown in the movie with one.

Top Gun: Maverick (Top Gun 2 is comin)
Sanity is Optional replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think the thing mounted under the centerline is the pod. -
So, I'm finally watching Macross 7, along with a friend of mine (first time for both of us). It really helps to have someone else there to make fun of the show to. Also, he keeps saying that flower girl should try and kill Basara at the end or something, what with how much she keeps showing up.

If you look at the Metal Build Eva unit 1, which is distinct both from the original Evangelion version as well as the rebuild version, Bandai essentially worked with the original designer to make an alternate that specifically was something new and different. They may have done something similar here to differentiate themselves from the Yamato and Arcadia versions. (Probably moreso the Arcadia version)

Either they tone it back later on, or I just built immunity. Not actually sure which.- 134 replies

It's still there, just it's detachable now so you can use the waist pivot. Which means that ab-crunch would just require it to detach also.

Top Gun: Maverick (Top Gun 2 is comin)

From the blurb about manned fighter planes in an era of drones, I'm half-expecting them to go Macross Plus on this and have him dogfight an AI controlled drone.
