Judging by the extra gates, looks like they ran into some issues with the large parts having bubbles/gaps.

The only thing I fault NY for at this point is poor communication. Compared to every other grey market P-Bandai seller, they're ahead just by the fact they're still fulfilling orders, however slowly.

Still better than just getting your order cancelled, considering the $500+ market price right now.

It wasn't just NY, other "grey market" P-Bandai re-sellers also had reduced quantities. Some cancelled orders, and My Konbini cancelled orders and then re-listed at a markup. As far as I can remember, NY is unique in the fact that they're actually fulfilling all the non-cancelled orders.

I'm most worried about the arms, seeing the VF-31s spindly arms with those massive gattling guns attached to the end. Those arms are going to sag worse than the VF-27.

Yup, they dropped the price 2,000¥. Now it's only ¥2,000 above their pre-order price of ¥17,500. Guess it's not selling quickly, which doesn't surprise me too much.

We are getting another Delta movie, so maybe everyone will get armored packs in that one.

They're all well engineered, it's mainly which paint scheme/head you prefer. Personally I like Mirage's VF-31C the most.

Thanks for the heads up, decided to buy from CDJ and cancel he HLJ order they can't be sure will be filled. Besides, has 2540¥ of points, plus they've got a ¥500 off coupon right now, so it was only $170 shipped.

Depends on which valk. Few look good in all 3 modes, some only look good in 1 mode (VF-4)

At least it's an easy fix, and it's not broken on all of them. The 4 I received all luckily had intact head lasers, and the new design let me check them while leaving the tray sealed.

As @Boobytrap mentioned, the breakage is only in the older version of the kit that has an ABS frame. The OVA Sinanju MG uses a different frame material and won't have the issue. Also the original MG Sinanju can be built using the spare waist peg included in the Sinanju Stein (which is not ABS) to remedy the issue.

Aesthetically, the packaging is much better. It just lacks cushioning at the top. I do like that I can open the box and actually see the valk, rather than just a sheet of cardboard taped to a Styrofoam tray.

There's always the MG Sinanju, which I generally see touted as one of the best MG kits.

I'd only planned to get 1 VF-31a, I just happened to end up with 3 while making sure I got at least 1...

They specifically stated that they had gotten fewer units than they expected. Also since their email told me I could cancel, I doubt they'd hold it against me. In any case, I'm leaving it open in case they can fill the order.
