The third one shows up tomorrow
-
My second copy from AmiAmi showed up. Now I know why they charged so much for EMS, they used a box that was about twice as large as it needed to be. It's really nice that I can pick either one up by a single leg and nothing moves. I'm really not sure which mode I like better, they all look so good.

I'm still waiting (hoping) for PF VF-0D and PF VF-1J with Armor... If only so I can buy one at retail cost, even if it's inflated.
-
I may have the funds, but not the space. Now I need to figure out which Frontier valks get sent to the closet...
-
All 3 modes, once my other two show up. Gerwalk is probably my favorite, the extra articulation in the legs and arms really shines there.
-
Yup, the chest fillers are what does it. They clip on front and back.
-
If it's together properly, and with the gap fillers, it seems fairly sturdy. Without the gap fillers, not so much. Make sure you have everything fully pegged into place and locked down.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Sanity is Optional replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I really hope they manage to snag Yoko Kanno again when they do another Macross show. -
Pretty easily, actually. The 31 master file has some pictures of how the pod looks with the dish folded up.

I only wanted the J C and E really. Now I have J, C, S, and movie F. Plus the superpacks for J and C, and the Drakkens on order for the F.

There's a few possibilities. For one thing, resin molds can be made cheaper than plastic injection molds. Injection molding has a huge up-front cost, and a tiny per-part cost. Resin has a lower up-front cost, but a higher per-part cost. Which ends up cheaper really depends on production volume.

So, I was flashing a blacklight over some of my model kits, and noticed that the pink and gold filigree fluoresces. Here's the best I can image it with my phone camera and crappy blacklight. It looks much more impressive in person.

So, I've got some hope the next version fits better. On my VF-1 only one of the intake covers is over-large (the right side sits in just fine, the left pops out a bit). Also I've got no problems with the canopy, and the swing-bar actually required me to use the tool to free the legs. The real question is did I get lucky and everything was better to tolerance, or was mine at the end of the run after they made some fixes? Or was it a the start before some mold wear accumulated?

Looking good. It really is a shame that there's no Kaname in any of these MBs, but at least there's a Tessa.

That's my experience as well: need to pry open the swing-bar connector to detach the legs, and the arms sag a bit in fighter mode. Also I kinda wish they'd added a mechanism to retract in the wings a bit in battroid mode, but I know why they didn't with how much people hate on the double-hinge on the YF-19's wings.
-
Put mine into battroid form, had to loosen my hip screws first as the hips were quite tight. The side-panels definitely help hold the battroid form together. Overall, the joints definitely could use some working in. I'm slightly disappointed by the wrist articulation, as it doesn't allow for many angles to hold the gun.
-
I'd wager very low, since these are injection molded parts. It's not economical to make molds below a certain production volume, likewise each batch needs to be a certain quantity.

I'll probably do my testing on the ones from the Gernsback, since I have 2 sets of them. At least FMP pilot suits are pretty much solid black.

Aren't the DYRL ones Strike rather than Super?

If I wasn't so bad at painting figures I'd give it a go myself. I was quite surprised to see so many of them included.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MK IV
Sanity is Optional replied to Urashiman's topic in The Workshop!
You can also try centering the drive axle, which ought to help (as the drag is equal on both sides). If the lift runs left-right, you can center the drive on the front or back side instead. -
Well, my pair of M9 Gernsbacks showed up, looks nice and hefty. Unexpected bonus is they come with 4x standing figures (Mao, Kurtz, Mardukas, Tessa), plus 2 different pilot figures (Mao, Kurtz: seated torso).

Considering the VF-0D and VF-31A (and for that matter the VF-11B and C), I' say there's at least some love for paint schemes that are closer to real-world.

Best part of the holidays is apparently coming home and picking up all the packages that arrived while I was away. The YF-29 and SV-292 are from @mog_kupo The M9 in the damaged box from Zen market (they just bubblewrapped the Tamashii shipper) The M9 in the undamaged box from From Japan (they stuck the Tamashii shipper inside another box) The VF-1 is from Amazon Japan, and was a steal for $173 and change shipped.
