  1. Not exactly a purchase, but this showed up today. Apparently I won it during one of the 2018 gunpla campaigns. Which is honestly weird, since I the prizes I signed up for were different ones. But I'm not complaining, this is still a free shiny kit.
  2. Flying Mule has put it up for PO with a release date of April. https://www.flyingmule.com/products/CL-CA72RB06 Still nothing on the actual website, so grain of salt and all that I expect. edit: Flying Mule also has a 20% off pre-orders coupon right now: code is P2ZW
  3. The Crossbone looks good and all, but I am not ready to jump down the gundam metal build rabbit hole. I'll stick to just the Aile Strike and a few non-gundam ones.
  4. The foam under the cockpit is to prevent the removable cockpit pod from rubbing, IIRC.
  5. Eh, completing the squad would be nice, mainly I want it to augment my collection of radome valks. Yamato VE-1 RVF-25 RVF-171 Still need a VE-11 as well.
  6. I've got the J, the anniversary, and the A. For the Anniversary and J I'll be bashing together a Mirage, and her VF-31 (but with a J head, because I don't want to scratchbuild a C). The other fighter's getting a low-vis paintjob, and not sure how to paint the girl. The A, the only change I'll make is painting some pants on the girl, not a fan of every mechagirl ever wearing a swimsuit.
  7. Not a big fan of gundam parachute pants, but this version looks good.
  8. Gave in and bought the Max/Miria set from KC... Oh well, another box for the pile.
  9. Btw, you can buy a YF-21 1/60 for a decent price if you keep an eye on Yahoo Japan Auctions through a proxy buying site like FromJapan or Buyee. Expect to tack on around $60-$100 in fees and shipping costs, but if you keep an eye out you can grab one for ~$200-$250 (before fees+shipping). One just sold a couple days back for ¥24,840. Alternatively, keep an eye on the for-sale/trade forum here. Also if you get a chance, check out the HMR Regult and/or Glaug. They're both very good figures.
  10. Just getting the hair, body shape, and eyes right would be plenty. We can re-color the hair to match, and they can say it's not actually Sheryl or Ranka. That's more or less what I'm going to do with the VF-31 version, mashing up the anniversary version with the normal 31J girl and repainting to try and make Mirage.
  11. I'm tempted myself, but I know they'd probably just end up sitting in the box for years.
  12. And it was awesome. More please!
  13. As an Engineer, even if you can fit some sort of mechanism into the available space, it's always going to be too weak and fragile to handle the weight of the legs. Plus as weight increases by the cubic, and strength increases by the square, larger scales will just make the problem worse. I'm glad they didn't try to do it, and any toy they do try it on will be one I expect to spectacularly self-destruct unless handled with absolute care (and with legs made of Styrofoam, no heft allowed).
  14. The VF-1 DYRL transformation involves two swing-bars, one inside each intake, that then detach once the legs are attached to the nosecone. Jut FYI. The only real perfect transformation implementation I know of is the more recent Bandai 1/72 VF-1 model kit, and it is freaking HORRIBLE.
  15. So, IIRC one theory was that Bandai had a QC issue and their production volume was lower than expected. Might be that Bandai themselves are still shipping those out as they get fixed up to meet spec, or that there's another company taking the QA rejects and fixing them up.
  16. Look at it on the bright side, between when you paid, and when they refunded you, the Yen went up in value?
  17. I always figured that they're getting QA refurbs, extended production from Bandai, or they have a source for near-MSRP VF-31As from another country somehow. Possibly they're getting them through a different country's P-Bandai store?
  18. This time around I'd better see the girl be at least something that can be repainted as Sheryl or Ranka. Klan would also be acceptable.
  19. Depends where you're looking.
  20. It probably helps that she's one of the more well fleshed out characters of the series, her paintscheme actually looks pretty good, and she looks good in a flightsuit. Also the 31C head is my favorite of the 31 heads.
  21. Eventual plans: Hikaru 1J Hikaru 1J with GBP Roy 1S Roy 1S with Strike 1A Super (if available) whatever else looks good
  22. It's probably there so you can re-angle the attachment points and use the FEXT boosters?
  23. I'll give NY credit for actually delivering, even if their communication is hideous and the wait terrible.
  24. With Itasha please, like the model kit version.
