  1. I'm going to try for a 2nd as insurance, if they're both good I can pass you one since we're close by.
  2. Finally got through and placed order at HLJ, hopefully it's not cancelled later.
  3. Check your emails for the CDJ link.
  4. There's special plastics, but I'd say printing with a resin printer in a transparent resin ought to get what you want.
  5. Well, these are HMR rather than models, but it gives you an idea of the relative heights.
  6. After how well the YF-19 sold, I think they'd be crazy to not be at least looking into making a DX YF-21. Not to mention the VF-22 (Macross 7 and Macross Delta) derivatives they could make from the same mold.
  7. Honestly, I have the DX Chogokin Gipsy Danger and it's pretty hefty and solid. There are some issues, like relatively low articulation, and the forearm armors don't attach securely however.
  8. Amazon says 5.25lbs item weight. https://www.amazon.com/NECA-Pacific-Jaeger-Danger-Action/dp/B00E3QXA5E
  9. That's what I did for the DX YF-19...
  10. I typically go for SAL from Mandarake, and then tell them 'if it doesn't fit SAL, go for cheaper of EMS or DHL. I also tro to throw some other things in the box as well, just since shipping only 1 item is hugely expensive, relative to the item price.
  11. I guess he exploded.
  12. Pretty much this. Mandarake's standards for "heavily damaged" are fairly low. I've gotten ones where the box was beat to hell but pictures of the damage were always on the listing. So long as the item inside isn't listed as "used" the contents ought to be just fine.
  13. I'll be completely honest, I'd pass on a 1/60 VF-4 entirely. The only reason I really went for the HMR was due to size and price compared to the 1/60.
  14. Facebook is the devil! Get off my lawn! Bah, humbug! Seriously though, good luck all, looking forward to seeing the submissions.
  15. Eh, really depends on what you order. For the PF VE-1 and HMR VF-1D it comes out very close due to the Amazon retroactive price drops (even vs Ferry service from NY). 2x Arcadia Stands: Item(s) Subtotal: ¥ 9,124 Shipping & Handling: ¥ 1,800 Total: ¥ 10,924 1x VE-1 Item(s) Subtotal: ¥ 22,744 Shipping & Handling: ¥ 1,200 Total: ¥ 23,944 2x VF-1D Item(s) Subtotal: ¥ 11,412 Shipping & Handling: ¥ 1,800 Total: ¥ 13,212
  16. Amazon Japan is cheaper though
  17. At this point, NY is my retailer of last resort. Not saying they're the worst, but those worse than them I'll just skip using entirely.
  18. I've got a blue H8 on order, but I actually prefer the green. Unfortunately those went up on the secondary market, so oh well.
  19. Where's the J7W from? I've been looking for a good diecast of that.
  20. That's pretty much where I'm at. Despite the shoddy assembly/worksmanship at times, shrinking a design 40% while still getting everything to fit properly is actually a lot of work. Re-evaluating the tolerances isn't straightforward.
  21. So, got my non-defective one in (from Amazon Japan) and I have to say that Bandai's factory is really slipping. Lots of little things like threads, dirt, smears, and one terrible nub I had to trim off before the arm and leg would slot together (stuck out a good 2mm). Also, anyone else have an issue with the front of the torso not wanting to stay tabbed down? The bit right above and behind the heat shield. All of that aside, it certainly is impressively engineered.
  22. Friday at 11:30: find a single HMR VF-4 in stock with Amazon Japan (sold+shipped by Amazon) and order it to replace the defective one HLJ sent. Friday at 8pm shipped Today at 6:40pm get home and it's waiting for me (in California) Amazon Japan really does have the best international shipping.
  23. I figure it's mostly just scalpers trying to cash in on the uptick in demand.
  24. Well, NY has decently low prices to begin with, and IIRC he has his bulk orders shipped via ferry, which is incredibly cheap and takes 3 months. My 2 via Amazon Japan are ¥13,212 shipped, or about $119.
