    Also the super-O is from DYRL, whereas the VF-1D is from SDFM, and we all know which of these is wildly more popular in Japan.

    Looks like I'm safe, just a bit of errant orange paint on the tail of one of them. Plus the usual horrendous nubs. Maybe Bandai got their QA back in gear after the VE-1/VF-4/VF-1A issues.

    DHL finally delivered my 2 from Amazon Japan. At just past 8pm. Now to open and check for defects.

    My fingers are cramping just imagining the funnels. I need one. Hopefully they're using the RG frame for the hinges on the funnels, as that would be worlds above the MG's mechanism (that gets floppy).

    @valhary was nice enough to send a sample my way, and I can confirm it ought to go together fairly well (once flash is trimmed, and the usual resin-related stuff). Depending how careful you are with a drill, ought to be able to get the door hinges working using 0.5mm pins. Here's some images of the sample he sent, fitted together after some basic trimming.

    At this point I open everything to check for manufacturing defects, and for HMRs I transform them as well. Bandai's QC seems to be slipping.

    Finally got shipping confirmation for my paid of 1Ds from Amazon Japan. Estimated arrival is Tuesday.

    Neither has mine, guessing ours will go out after the weekend. I certainly hope we don’t have to wait until after golden week.

    Yeah, I emailed them with a picture. I hope they can talk to the manufacturer and send one out. Apart from the missing head, it all looks good and with nice details.

    Just got in my Steel Legends Kshatriya. Everything looks good, except the head isn't anywhere to be found in either box. So I have a headless Kshatriya.

    If you can't find it anywhere else, you could always sign up for a Tenso address, and have it forwarded to you. I've done that in the past. It's free to sign up for the forwarding address.

    Of course, to get the full squad you need all 3 PBandai sets (possibly 2ea of the smaller kits, depending if it's 1 or 2 units per).

    Sometimes Amazon Japan will ship to the US, sometimes not. It's a bit odd that the VF-1D during pre-order would, but wouldn't after release.

    I'll be honest, I'd probably bite a second one at these prices, if I hadn't just wiped myself out with a down payment on a condo.

    Looks decent, has pretty much everything there except for the 0.2mm tall detailing in a few spots. I'll be interested to see the finished version.
