There's actually a few non-transforming valkyries, though they tend to be cheaper and smaller items. Doyusha made several 1/144 scale diecast fighter mode valkyries. Yamato made a line of Battroid figures (GnU Dou) There's various gatcha toys, like the Bandai 1/250 fighter collection. The one larger scale I'm aware of is the 1/72 Calibre Wings diecast VF-1S fighter that was just released (still waiting on my copy).

Jeez, I wonder why so many of the stores had such a slow time getting things out the door, was it just the holiday?

Funny enough, the pictures worked fine for me, browsing on my tablet with javascript off. So apparently broken photobucket embeds will still work with javascript turned off.

I have one huge problem with the V1 Tornado in jet mode. The weight is so far back that the front part of the stand (that latches on under the cockpit) will disconnect from the support arm at the drop of a hat, and then the whole thing slides off the back of the stand. The V2 does not have this issue.

To keep the aesthetics consistent with the plot?

Well, I just put the armored pack on my Arad. It's big, holds together fairly well, and goes on pretty easy. The only part I had issues with falling off was the left vent-cover. The new stand is beefed up all across the board. Seriously, every part except the hexagonal base is beefier. My only nit-pick is that one of my chainguns is sagging slightly, so they're not even on both sides. I'm unsure if this is an issue with the VF or the armor pack. I'll see if swapping them out from my other armor set yields the same. From the design side, it looks like it was very much designed to work and display in battroid, but it doesn't look too bad in fighter. By default it says to point the back cannons backwards, but you can flip them over so they point forwards. Pretty [potato] pictures

I think they just haven't announced it yet. Some people suspect that we'll get an armored pack for the 31A instead of supers. I would totally be down with that.

No supers for the 31A either announced or released. Getting Messer supers will probably require paying a bit and/or waiting for some to show on Mandarake or Jungle.

I don't know where they're getting these designs from, but that looks like someone sat on a melted Excelsior.

Yeah, you need to sign up with a new account. There's an option for English Language, look for the globe near the right side of the header. I also suggest setting up a Japanese shipping address with Tenso, on the off-chance there's something up that won't ship to the US on pre-order night. This is the only way I managed to snag a DX VF-1S Hikaru pre-order.

No problem, after a while you learn the various vendors (and lines, and manufacturers) and what they're good for. Amazon Japan is the king if you want something that comes in a box too big for SAL. Their international shipping (if it's offered) is rock-bottom pricing and fast. I've had stuff show up 2 days later in California. They generally don't discount much, but price+shipping can save you a bundle if you want speed.

$600 is ridiculous for them, Just a couple weeks ago you could buy from Hobby Link Japan at MSRP. Edit: still available at HLJ, though Amazon Japan is cheaper. You can buy from Amazon Japan (https://www.amazon.co.jp/マクãƒã‚¹ã‚¼ãƒ-完全変形VF-0S-フェニックス-Premium-Finish/dp/B0794Y1G4S) Below is the cost with DHL (<1week) shipping to the US, fulfilled through Amazon. The price on the Amazon page includes Japanese tax, which gets removed with international shipping. Order Summary Items: ï¿¥46,111 Shipping & handling: ï¿¥1,200 Order total: ï¿¥47,311

FYI there's a Premium Finish VF-0S Roy as well, which to my knowledge has no breakage issues at all. There's also an upcoming Premium Finish VF-0D which should also include those same fixes. Pre-orders not open yet.

After just putting a V1 and a V2 on display, and sticking on the tornado packs to both: the V2 is vastly improved, both in how everything attaches and how well it holds together. Plus getting the legs settled properly is way easier.

One of the US manufacturers sells really crappy valkyries. Think HMR, except without any sort of quality or engineering. Worse than the Kitz Concept. They are currently selling one of theirs which is packaged in a 100% ripoff of old Takatoku boxing, anc charging $100 for it. Some people are buying it purely for the nostalgia packaging.

For reference (following for US): SAL (Small Packet) ships Japan Post, and then hands off to USPS once it gets through customs. It usually takes ~2-3 weeks. Mandarake ships Registered SAL which has tracking and requires a signature. EMS is like SAL, except it costs more and is faster, usually within a week, sometimes within 3 days (for me). DHL/FedEx are roughly the same cost/time profile as EMS. Usually EMS ends up cheapest for me, but YMMV. For ordering from Mandarake, if I see something I want to get I'll generally search whatever else is available at that store to add into the shipment. Select SAL for shipping, and put "if SAL unavailable use cheapest of EMS/DHL" in the comment field. Also note there is also SAL (not small packet) shipment. Usually costs a bit less than EMS, but has SAL delivery times. Generally I don't bother as EMS is only slightly more expensive.

Mandarake has HMR VF-1S Roy, unopened, for what'll be around $220-$230 with shipping. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1045029621

I was one of the first to order it, and haven't received anything, or any word on shipping.

If you want your stuff fast: NY is not the place to go. You'll get it eventually, but don't expect is to ship quickly. Honestly, I don't think there's any point to buying from them unless you get stuff shipped SAL or Ferry. Or you were able to secure a pre-order at initial price.
