  1. Drip a small amount of Future floor polish into the joint, work it back and forth while floor polish dries. It's a wax, and it'll do a decent job of tightening up the joint.
  2. Yeah, more and more I think I'll just keep my copy and fix the foot issue with some epoxy and sandpaper. Since all the joints are nice and tight.
  3. Honestly, scalpers are not really hurting anyone with Arcadia toys. Now when it comes to Bandai figures, on the other hand...
  4. Odd, the detent on mine is doing the job fine. Then again I haven't folded the wing out and back much, since it's sitting on my desk in battroid with the bum foot. [Edit] Just bent the mid-wing hinges back and forth again, it's still very tight on mine, and I don't see it loosening up anytime soon. I actually need to hold both parts of the wing and apply force to get it to move. The wing-root double hinges are even tighter. The only one that's not is the inboard most hinge that runs left/right, and that one has supports to keep it from flopping down.
  5. It's not a tab, it's a soft-detent in the hinge itself, you can feel it kinda click into position when it's fully unfolded at the mid-wing joint.
  6. I do try and secure at least 2 of the DX VF-1, but for both Max and Hikaru 1S I only managed 1 each. The second is just in case I need to return one due to defects, and if both are good I was planning to sell at-cost to a forum member. Still might manage to get a second on release, but I’m not super hopeful on the Hikaru. Managed 3 of the Hikaru 1J, but 2 are mine and one was for a friend.
  7. Odd, mine had a detent in the wing joints to keep them in place.
  8. When it comes to things that are available at release, like Arcadia stuff and most HMR I have no issue with it. However, when it's stuff like the DX VF-1, which is between difficult and impossible to get a pre-order for, or at release, then you're actively competing with people who want one for their personal collections. So, it really depends on the figure and how easy it is to get one.
  9. I have filled an entire walk-in closet with boxes. Half of it is my gunpla backlog through, so there's that.
  10. I admire your restraint, in my closet all of that is packed tightly on a single shelf.
  11. Ought to be no problems, the only wing hinge that's not extra stiff is one that's locked down in fighter mode.
  12. Box pic looks like the same as my Renewal ver armor. Is there another version of the renewal?
  13. Just wondering, what's that tiny VF-11 fighter next to the 1/60?
  14. Now I'm thinking I might just want to fix&keep mine. All the joints are pretty-much fine, and the foot is fixable. If I return it and get one with bad joint that'd be much more of a pain.
  15. Honestly, the foot thing I could fix myself if I wanted to spend time on it. Sandpaper both surfaces and a bit of JB Weld or Scotchweld. I'd just rather have one where I didn't have to fix it. Since judging by the design if it's put together properly it ought to be stronger than what I can do with epoxy and sandpaper.
  16. So I think the glue is just to hold it in place while the rivets are expanded and do the lion's share of the work. Unfortunately it looks like the rivets on mine aren't expanded enough to hold. I've emailed the seller, and fortunately it was a company with decent customer service.
  17. Well, the foot fell off. Half the foot I suppose. Looks like the foot is glued and riveted together. The glue's pretty much useless as it's between two painted surfaces, and I guess the rivets weren't very strong.
  18. Checked mine (that I just picked up finally) and looks like I have the same hinge being a little loose. It still feels solid, but there's not much friction in the joint. Haven't actually transformed to see how much it affects posing. My feet are alright though, so there's that. Gotta say it's a big and impressive figure in-hand. [edit] Found one of the wing-root pieces was slightly mis-assembled. Had to undo a screw, shave a damaged peg slightly, and fit it back together before re-inserting the screw. Relatively quick and painless fix.
  19. Nothing wrong with sitting and waiting on thing that have been out a while. Recent releases will probably get more expensive over time (HMR VF-4), but older releases like the Roy VF-1S HMR has been relatively stable. No downside to waiting for one to pop up on Mandarake or for sale on this forum.
  20. Bandai rarely re-releases any of their figures, some might get a second slightly changed release (like VF-31F TV release vs 31F movie release), but actually releasing the same exact figure twice is rare enough to be newsworthy (see: metal-build evangelion unit 01).
  21. The Hi-Metal line has ended. The Hi-Metal R line is a reboot of the Hi-Metal line and is ongoing, and there are several releases each year. Check out anymoon.com for the various release dates. The most recent release was the VF-4, while the earliest releases were re-workings of the original Hi-Metal VF-1 designs.
  22. Very much so, I need at least one, and I know of a couple friends that want Warhammers.
  23. I don't even have mine yet, and now I can't wait for Nora and possibly CF so I can have it posed in multiple modes. I spose I might buy a second Ivanov even, but not for $400.
  24. I wish the local post would just hold my packages for pickup and text me, not like anyone's going to be home when try try to deliver at 10:30am on a weekday.
  25. Yeah, mine is max $1500 on firearms, but everything else falls under the general coverage. When I called to talk to them they requested anything really valuable be appraised. Macross stuff just isn't expensive enough that it seeds to be. When you file a claim later on, they might want supporting evidence (I keep pictures, and all my invoices are in my email) to justify an amount. Nothing I have is worth more than $1k though on the figure side, so not too worried about them balking when I can point to ebay listings.
