So, I did manage to get somewhere contacting Arcadia directly, though they do not currently have any parts available to send out as replacement parts. Hopefully at some point if they have spares they'll be willing to send a set to my Tenso forwarding address.

It really makes no sense when you consider that these are made on runners, and both sets are probably on the same runner. Maybe there was a molding error, and they tossed a bunch of mis-molded right ankles?

Guess I emailed CDJapan too early, they only gave me ¥1000. Though that was for needing to re-glue the foot rather than the two left ankles.

It's a metal part, can't really mold that in the proper color without making it plastic. I 100% prefer metal in these high-stress locations, even if it means paint rubbing. [edit] For clarity, the slightly glossier finish is because it's not paint, it's a "powder-coat", which is essentially a thin layer of plastic dust applied to the surface, and then backed on to form a thin solid layer of plastic.

You can prevent this paint rub, if you make sure to bend one side of the double-hinge first, and then the other. This is what I have two of, where the attachment is on the left-side. In other news, I contacted Arcadia directly (I have a Tenso Address and Arcadia store account). They actually replied back, and it sounds like it might be possible to get a replacement part from them via the Tenso address.

The real question is if the bit that slides into the leg needs to be swapped as well as the foot. If not, seems like it'd be a relatively easy thing to set up a foot-swap like we did for the leg supers on the HMR VF-1A.

With how well the Bandai YF-19 sold I think they'd be nuts to not make a YF-21 as well.

I need to check tonight if the feet can be swapped, might require cracking the leg open however.

So, I have two left-ankles going by the battroid "correct" configuration. Anyone have 2 rights and want to swap?

I send CDJapan an email with picture stating the issue and asking if they can get one of the replacement parts from Arcadia for me. No word back, but I'm somewhat hopeful.

There's some small parts entirely made of metal all over the place, mainly joints. It's not a lot of volume of metal, but it's a lot of individual parts.

No stand, just adapters. In their defense, it's an absolutely massive valkyrie, easily the largest 1/60 figure and dwarfs the 1/48 Yamato/Bandai VF-1 figures. Also includes a good amount of metal content and a very complex transformation that (at least in my case) seems to lock together pretty well.

FYI, if you turn off javascript, you may be able to get the images to load in the forum post, so you can grab them again.

Honestly the "support" clip on mine doesn't do a damn thing in battroid mode. It just falls right off if there's any weight put on it. The stand, and the clear support attached to the strike pod, work much better. Also, I find the thing looks best in battroid, and worst in Gerwalk. Fighter is passable, though looks better without the cannon pod.

No question Arcadia's contracted factory, and their QC, fell severely short in this case. I really hope they implement better QC for the Nora version. I'm not too worried about the VF-0D, since they already released the PF VF-0S without issues, and they'll have people going over it up close due to the weathering/panel lining. On the other hand, anyone who wants an Ivanov, looks like these will probably end up in the bargain bin.

I'm pretty sure this sort of thing is why Bandai has moved to more complicated fittings that can only be assembled one way. They better do something if they want to release a Nora version. That said, I'm not sure how much the incorrect ankles actually matter, I had no trouble getting the feet to slide in and out, and no gaps on the leg even with the incorrect ankle.

Checked, and my ankles are wrong as well, though it doesn't seem to be causing any real issue in my case. Then again, that might be part of why the back half of the foot popped off. I wonder how difficult it would be to replace that piece, possibly doing a swap with someone else on the forums.

That's a lot of Macross, but not much HMR. Personally I think it's just Bandai not wanting to compete too much with itself when it comes to fans of Macross.
