Thanks! It was a TV VF-1 pilot. Altered the head, added the shoulder pads + paint. Basara can play his guitar somewhere else and let a real pilot fly the 19P

Because the 19P's Basara looks... weird (and it's taller than every other pilot), I made this:

I found controller Type A very useful too for quests where you have to destroy a specific type of enemies.

I'm not so fond of the itasha Valks. If anyone is interested in the codes, PM me.

Thank you very very much! I finished the game using the Type A controller (I know... I'm an old, casual gamer) and now I'm re-playing it using your guide to complete the quests. Regarding the controller, I found Type A easier because the lock on targets stays on, that way I could focus on evading attacks hehe. But completing the races is IMPOSSIBLE with Type A controller. Thank you very much again for the guide!

Thank you very much Chronicidal! One of the few times that I went into the Guild Quests, I am under the impression that I cleared a mission without doing anything. I was supposed to destroy or acquire something, but I selected something else in the menu and somehow I got the quest cleared so maybe that's an option with items you already have. I'll try to replicate this weekend what I did before, to see if it works again.

Thank you very much!! Side note: the critical hits also work with Control Type A, as long as you don't have a fixed lock to something else.

Thank you for the replies! I had absolutely forgotten about L1 + R1 ... I think I finished Triangle Frontier by cycling through targets I finally got the VF-1A, the difference in speed is definitely welcome

Guys, need your help. I'm used to the previous PS3 / PSP games so I chose controller Type A. I found out that it's not good for free roaming as the POV depends on the lock on targets. I switched to controller Type C as Tochiro recommended but I found out that the I have to keep pressing the lock on button, otherwise a lot of ammo will be wasted. Is there any way to "unlock" the target in controller Type A or to keep a fixed lock on Type C?

Actually the manual included with the kit is not bad at all, and if you download the one that is translated from that website, it's clearer. Not everything is assembled with screws, and the parts have a tight fit. There are also that need to be glued and, as Hikuro mentions, you need to be very careful with all the pieces that involve pins. The assembled kit ended up being almost the same as the toy. Some joints ended up tighter. And you can do some changes too. For example, knurled pins are included for the shoulders but there are other 2 that are the same size but "unknurled" so I swapped them. It does come with decals (water-slide) if you decide not to paint it. But if you want to build a color scheme that is already available, I suggest you buy the toy. This kit is best for customs. In spite of everything, it is fun to build IMO.

Hola a tod@s, Les dejo la liga del VF-1J de Macross The First que arme (y luego vendi) para quien no lo hay avisto: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37248

I built the VF-1J, then painted it to look as it appears in The First manga (or as close as I could). Later I sold it to jvmacross. As eggy99 mentions, not all runners are marked, and it's definitely better to remove the pieces from the runners as you build. The kit includes lots of pins and they're not easy to identify as the size difference is minimal. Oh, and other thing... once a part is assembled, there's no turning back. Having a VF-1 toy as reference definitely helps to see which parts go where, and it was very useful to me especially to plan the painting. In the same blog that eggy99 mentions, I found an assembly guide that someone kindly translated to English: http://www.mech9.com/blog/2012/07/yamato-160-vf-1-no-paint-kit-w-bonus-parts-construction-manual/ It took me around 3 weeks to finish.

Looks like many of us were waiting for the 19P to go on sale, hehe. What the hell, I ordered one too
