    No I think you probably misunderstood me. I meant as in we fans being able to get our hands on all the classic Zentraedi stuff in the form of merchandise (figs, models, new comics, new anime featuring the classic Zentraedi designs) with the same ease that Star Wars fans are able to get their hands on all the classic Imperial stuff. Can you think of any Star Wars Imperial vehicle or trooper that you cant get in some form or another? Is the same true for the Macross Zentraedi? As to the book that gave the Imperial forces respect, I think that would have been the West End Imperial Sourcebook. (No need to respond with a "That's no longer cannon" because my hobby attitude to "cannon" is whatever I like goes and whatever I don't doesn't.)

    I just wish Macross had the same respect for its bad guys that Star Wars has. Even though Imperial Stormtroopers only appeared in the original trilogy, we can still expect to see them in their iconic armour in upcoming films, comics, games, artwork etc. Imagine if all you could get for Star Wars was variants of X-wings and dolls of Sy Snootles.

    Thanks for the feedback. I think there is The Glaug pic but one or two pics aren't enough to justify purchase. Wish they would do a Zentraedi first sortie or something.

    Thinking of getting this book but not sure if it is worthwhile. What quality Zentraedi pics does it have? Any such clean pics from the covers from Macross Chronicle, like say issue 42?

    I'm rather baffled how you can not like the beautiful Hellcat, which to me is as pleasing to the eye as the Gister Dohl, the Regult or the Gurab. I'd certainly rather have figs or models of those than of Min Mei, to whom I have the same attitude as that held by Fulliautomatix towards Cacophonix in the Asterix comics. Where do you get the comment about the attitude to inorganic tech from, BTW? I don't remember reading that in the novels (then again it was a while ago that I read them).

    I still have the complete set. Didn't the Zentraedi - Invid battle on the ice world of Tawkhan (or something) happen in that novel? That was at least cool in concept if not in actual description.

    Well I enjoyed the alien back story in RT. By this I mean the whole Invid-Tirolian/Zentraedi war and history. No redeeming qualities? Surely you have not forgotten the Invid Hellcat?

    Amazing, there are people who are actually capable of caring about Min Mei? When I read the RT novels I just read the alien segments and the battles. Whenever I tried to read the human parts I kept falling asleep. (Same thing is happening now that I'm reading the Anglo-Martian War of 1895 and The Great Martian War. Nice info on the HG Wells Martians in these tomes BTW.)

    Why do they assume that the target audience will identify with them simply because they are similar ages? Being the same age doesn't automatically mean that you have common ground. It seems odd logic to me. I had always thought that the young ages were merely an advancement of the usual conscript age of 18- 19. A non-augmented human only has a very small window, when they are in their physical peak, to exploit (fast reflexes etc included) after all.

    Looking forward to seeing that Queen Crab build. As for that agility I guess hth with one of these pilots might be a bad idea for a mere human.

    I hope 2018 sees the release of the Regult Scout, the TV and DYRL Power armours. But I wonder if Bandai would do an HMR Boquomouxy Quel-Quallie Theatre Scout Pod? And what about a Gnerl and Glaug Eldar? And how about that blocky Liewneautz Shuttle used to transport Britai and Exesodol? Was that ever made by anyone ever?

    Its a good thing I don't care about the human characters. I'm scared to look at what they did to the Zentraedi. I started getting a really bad feeling when I read that they were "modernising it for the younger generation" or some such annoyance (would be ok if it only meant upgraded art). Hey waitaminnit... this better not be the scene where we first see a Zentraedi warrior, cos he appears to be missing.

    Solugi figures to go with the Gosu is a great idea. It does have the cockpit after all. Maybe EXO could do some at some point, like he did for the Glaug?

    Well colour me distracted because what hooked me in Macross was the concept of the Zentraedi in SDFM. In terms of my personal aesthetics their military machine was on par with that of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars. That being said, I have wondered whether the Zentraedi in SDFM are not an allegory of the US military forces in WW2.

    Maybe I'm just paranoid. I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the sex scene in Batman the Killing joke animated movie.
