  3. i also want post nuclear fish over fire🔥
  4. thanks for the lowdown. i tried using my OLED C1 as a monitor but the text isn't as clear so i just use it to play games and movies. how many nits is your IPS monitor and what do you think is the bare minimum for a bright lit room or outdoor usage? My IPS screen is about 500 nits at max, i'm comfortable with it but wondering if i should go brighter.
  5. i'm rocking a LG C1 OLED for my main TV and for ps5 which i don't play much as i'd like. love it. i worried about burn-in for pc monitor use and decided to go IPS. I guess your braver than me. i leave up alot of static images for about 6-8 hours, my for uses: I disable sleep, screen saver, dimmer. Do you have any fears of static images on the Samsung or don't think about it?
  6. @mikeszekely some more window shopping while waiting for the march release of the 5070ti Zephyrus G14 there's a 14" edit: i don't see the 14" anymore just 16" with a 4080 for 1389 in there that may be of interest. (not oled though) I'd prob wait till March myself to see how the 50 series turn out and have more options if i'm not in a hurry. https://computers.woot.com/plus/msi-laptops-22?cjdata=MXxOfDB8WXww
  7. no problem! you've helped me in the past. (I still have your psp go and use it often.) yeah agree with you. it's at least there's decent bump for the 5090. since the 4090's been sold out it's been selling for about 2k. Those wanting to grab a 4090 at current market price may see the value of getting a 5090 for about the same price depending if they can get their hands on one.
  8. But Lucus was color change edit guy, seems to be in line: Even the Disney + release has more color changes/corrects/edits: I just hope we can get something like a project 4k77 for DYRL so we have choices. I'm still going to get this DYRL in 4K and it's going to feel like an exciting new picture with more energy but i hope one day we can get something close to the original without DNR and colors close to the original.
  9. Kawamori seems no different from Lucas or Jim Cameron with their choices for their remasters. I'm still getting this and the 4k will probably give the film fresh a new look as A New Hope did when the SW special editions came out. The 4k Aliens release really changed the color and atmosphere of the film so there's a huge backlash from fans. Hope one day a fan team can get an original 35mm roll of DYRL and do as the team behind Project 4k77 did for the original trilogy restoration and give us a restoration without the loss of detail.
  10. https://bsky.app/profile/gkids.com/post/3lfxlkunytk2w GKIDS has acquired North American rights to Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- The first-ever collaboration between studio khara, the studio behind the EVANGELION Series, and SUNRISE, the home of Mobile Suit Gundam. #GQuuuuuuX IN THEATRES FEBRUARY 28
  11. The graphs and the article linked are more of a sobering reality at Nvidia's Editor's Day, more realistic comparisons that weren't shown in their 5070 = 4090 power presentation. Each card is roughly 15% more power than last gen and the comparison charts pitting the 5070-4070 that weren't shown prior are more realistic gains that will be in more likely in line with 3rd party findings. Definitely not taking nvidia's words over 3rd party benchmarks though. @mikeszekely not sure if you want to bump up your budget 2100k and don't care about MFG framegen but this might be a decent deal. Legions are built like a tank and with a 4090 card. https://slickdeals.net/f/18057069-certified-refurb-laptop-lenovo-legion-pro-7-16-ips-ryzen-9-7945hx-32gb-2tb-rtx-4090-2149-99?v=1&src=frontpage (not saying you should buy it but doesn't hurt to window shop, great thermals and good for both work and gaming. profile is decently slim for it's size, i carrry around a usb charger since it has that option with my legion instead of lugging a power brick to work)
  12. Nvidia finally revealing realistic actual performance 5070 vs. 4070 rest of charts here: Nvidia says the RTX 5080 is ‘about’ 15% faster than the RTX 4080 without DLSS
  13. double post: hopefully solves the scalper problems the PS5 had.
  14. April 2nd here we go!!! i love 2018 tech! (but i heard it uses the Hall Effect analogue sticks to resolve joy con drift.)
  15. Thanks for checking: See my original post example and try episode 2 where i marked it as the first episode doesn't seem to be noticeable.
  16. FYI, I'm in the U.S. and have both Hulu and Disney and tested both day one. Duke Togo and others already confirmed it's happening on both platforms for U.S. because Hulu shows integrated on Disney plus seems to be a different experience vs. where Graham resides where there is no Hulu. Macross streaming directly on D+ in HK or Japan doesn't seem to have the fade out pauses or subtitle lag issues.
  17. Most likely because in the U.S. all Macross is under Hulu and D+ is carrying Hulu shows. These fade pause breaks on are Hulu.
  18. I have a conclusion on why the subtitles are playing out of sync for of the Macross series including Plus and Frontier. The artificially added fade to black between some scenes for supposedly commercials creates a split second delay. That gap in time that is not suppose to be there creates a lag in timing and the subtitle will be earlier than the dialogue. The lag in time between the subtitles and dialogue get progressively worse with each additional fade to black commercial break, towards the latter half of an episode after 2 or more fade to black pauses, the gaps in timing are very noticeable which is why people are noticing them towards the middle or end of an episode not at the beginning. If the episode had only one or no breaks, it's barely noticeable. but more than one fade out will most likely create a jarring experience which is why some may notice it more on certain episodes. Examples: Frontier ep.2 at the 4:29 sec mark to see the lag in subtitles. Macross plus OVA has several fade to black pauses each episode. I believe those fade to black pauses were edited in artificially after the subtitles were already timed with the dialogue without the breaks.
