1. Like I said JKeats, I really enjoyed the Star Wars novels in my youth alot(I mean, where do you think my screen name "Wes" came from ), so I know what it's like to really get into a story. I'll ocassionally pause a game or movie, or maybe pause in reading further, just to take in the awesomeness of a particular event in really good stories. It just seems oxymoronic to me to get so reved(?) up about a reading, seeing as reading by nature is regarded as a slow, leisurely pleasure, unless of course it's the English section of the SATs. Yet even without trying I notice the furry of demand to get this book. It comes off to me like the military's old fashioned "Hurry Up and Wait" philosophy. When thinking about it, I picture a mob of people rushing into my neighborhood Books-A-Million, snagging copies as soon as the can just to calmly sit in their cars reading it slowly with their radios and A/C. What I'm trying to say is the energy is the demand is bizarre in relation to the activity, IMHO.
2. Lebhead, posting again?!? Who'd of thunk it? Nice to see you back. Well, when they write "MOSPEADA" in the title, and that's how they pronounce it in the show, I guess you got to think the word is actually MOSPEADA.
3. Yes, I seriously want to know what's the big deal with this? A book? W...T...F? The way it sounds, all Nintendo needs to do to win back its console-market-share is release the next Harry Potter book, maybe with pictures, on its new system a month before print and it would be back to the old NES-monopoly. 312276 I'm fairly certain no one is holding you at gunpoint to read the thread. If you don't care for the subject matter, just stay out. Is it so hard to do? 312283 I'm saying I curious as to the obsession. I mean, it's a paper book, which can be manufactured easily, and viewed at leasure in its best form, without any worries of showing graphical age. These luxuries don't apply to games and movies, and even few of those are really this in-demand. When I was still interested in the Star Wars novels I enjoyed them, but I would never bother to preorder and wait in line for even the X-Wing Saga. So why do so many people just have to have it? Like you said, if you don't want to answer the question, don't.

5. ...Again, another reason why I majored in AE. Maybe Shawn should of thrown in a spell-check with the upgrades.
6. You know what? I say we release DYRL? to the states. Yes, for profit. Seriously, nobody knows who exactly owns the rights, right? So who can prove that we don't? If someone could, though, then they would be motivated to actually giving it a solid release. If someone decides to sue, you say? Well, that's what a fall-guy is there for, silly! I nominate MGREXX for the role. His [hand jester " ]Master's Degree[/hand jester " ] should help him get thru it.
7. Does anyone really have a problem with Animeigo's translations? I thought everyone believed it was a good one.
8. My sentiments echoes Duke's. But I will say one thing. One part of me is glad to own the original set. Another part of me feels jipped to pay $250 for it. 310888 I payed $290, quit your whining. But I also got 3 more years of enjoyment out of them. So I consider it a good deal.
9. Ok, I see now, we're both right. Thank you Internet Archive I only remembered the first part.
10. I think you're wrong. It was more due to monetary concerns. They spent so much on the restoration, and most of us purists who were planned to buy it didn't want a dub anyway, so...
11. Well, Animeigo's contract was up after 3 years, and they decided not to renew. We all suspected this, but now it's offered at RT.com's store for about $130.
12. It's been edited, but it still flickers a bit. Like I said, it's more watchable than the original.
13. Apparently a new trailer was thrown together for this recent RT convention. It's a poor copy, but was cleaned up by someone at RDF-HQ and it's watchable now. Hamony Gold Presents Presents
14. What you forget is that Hollywood does not work for logical reasons, just for money. And if it can make more money, that's the point.
15. I remember someone releasing a SNES game 2 years after it had died, but this, wow. Make more sense to port it, guess it'll only be sold online.
16. Well, Night would have been pretty hard to do - the running zombies would have torn that house a new one in about 30 min. But yeah, Hollywood, creativity.
17. I think they're old, becuase Sony was just talking about selling their 90 millionth PS2.
18. Yeah, Penny-Arcade put up a website on this. They even have other system emulators for it. Makes the PSP a little more appealing now. http://www.psphacker.com/
19. You know what? I got this AWESOME idea! Why doesn't Carl Marcek thak Yukikaze and adapt it as a new RT mini-series?!?!? OH, wait, wait, then, because they look so similar, they can edit Stealth as a live-action sequel!!! That would be teh roxor!!! (additional-too-much-smiley) (additional-too-much-smiley) (additional-too-much-smiley) (additional-too-much-smiley)
20. Hmmm, yes? Marines are marines first, and whatever their job is 2nd. With Marine aviation officers, I believe they go to TBS(The Basic School) to learn how to fight on the ground, and then they go into the pilot line. I may have the order wrong. But then how are they supposed to have desposable Brownie-like extras who die off by the dozen? It's the TIE Fighter philosophy.
21. Dude, is it me or does that sound almost exactly like the plot for Starship Troopers, the film version? It was a space war, against aliens. Those were about the only simularites. Maybe more Wing Commander in the since that most of the fights were starfighter battles. Why is it that if it's a good show not called the Simpsons, FOX has to kill it?
22. How is backward-compatablity even a real selling point? I mean honestly, the whole reason people buy the new systems is to play the new games, with the shinier graphics and everything. How many of the general PS2-owning comunity, for example, kept getting more PS1 games and playing them on the PS2? Probably only the more hardcore gamers, and only for the best games of the system. The average Joe Consumer probably hasn't done it once, although I'm sure they thought to themselves, "Hey, I can even play old PS games with this!!" when picking it up, then said to themselves, "Why do I wanna play sh!tty old PS games, I can play sh!tty PS2 games!!" I mean, even I've been wanting to play Crono Cross thru a couple more times with mine, but has it happened yet? Nope. Fact of the matter is, if you really want to play old-gen games, you just pay the 50 bucks it cost to get the system, and whatever low price it takes to buy the 2 games you'll play. Yet the alternative seems to work so well. I just don't seen it rationally as a major selling point.
23. Wow, I never heard anything about Alpha Gaiden being translated. Is Alpha translated by anyone?
24. Wes

Seraphim

What the heck does a robot need to play the harp for? It's a good design, kind of reminds me of ZOE, but maybe that's because I've been playing ZOE 2 alot more than I should have been last week.
25. Nifty, hopefully they don't Neo him up or anything. The Highlander website has got to be even cornier than the RT one.
