Pot(to Kettle): YOU'RE BLACK!!! Yes, we're on a webboard that highlights a 20 year-old cartoon. We're all nerds to a certain degree. So we need to be careful of how we make fun of other nerds. But Nerdum is kind of defined like the circles of Hell in Dante's Inferno. LARP is without a doubt on the lower levels, but even if we're near the top, we're still in it. That means it's okay to make fun of the lower-level guys(yeah, I don't think girls fall that low that often) so long as we know where we stand. I still kind of like the idea of A1 going at them in their own game - AgentOne, king (of the nerds) by his own hand.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Maybe if those nerds decided to try to do something possitive with their lives, like help those in need in their communites, or join the amed forces, this "hero" complex wouldn't come out so silly. Although on second thought, it would be hilarious for AgentOne to come out there looking like Conan, with a real broadsword (not sharpened, of course) and take them all out.

It's funny, but my friend recently told me a great story about Con Air He saw Con Air in theatres and never thought much of it. Years later, he received the DVD from a friend while he was still living in the UK and pretty much avoided watching the disc more than once because of his distaste. When he moved here to Canada two years ago, he sold all his region 2 stuff before he left, so he was rid of Con Air at last. Last month, he happened upon a Buy-3-For-$20 DVD sale and picked a couple favorites he'd been meaning to get, but was stumped to find a third disc among the marked items. He then came across Con Air on the shelf, recalling that he once owned it and figured that it was good enough to own again. When he watched the movie, he was appalled by how much he hated it and cursed his own stupidity, now realizing why he had despised it so. Rather than try to sell his DVD or garbage it, he has decided to keep it. He has placed it on the top of his shelf, seperate from all his other DVDs, but always within line of sight of his collection. He bestows upon the DVD the honor of a life lesson and says this one bad movie that he can't stand will remain in his collection as a constant reminder never to purchase crap films again. I swear I nearly ruptured my spleen with laughter 316639 Sadly I have a friend whose just like that - just wasting his money, at full retail prices, on DVDs he might watch once or twice then dump them or forget them.

Bah, I'm far more excited about this movie: Transporter 2

You're a little bit behind the times, my friend. Macross World Map Project

We were calling each other bitch, which was fun for a little while. Oh yeah, there's a new RT series coming out. When? Who knows.

Maroon? Bitch, I'm Black! 315449 Bitch he's quoting Buggs Bunny. Anyways, seeing as the appropriate time for tragic events to be considered funny is 22.3 years, you're going to have to let this go in about 2 Keith.

Sorry, I just got promoted to assistant store manager... just in time for the store manager to take his vacation. So, I've had a stressful day at work trying to self-teach myself the stuff that under other circumstances, they would have taken the time to train me to do. Fixed it. 315408 Hey, hey, no guilt trips. Making fun of typos is one of those simple joys only message boards can bring. The quick, easy guide to retail/minimum wage - type leadership positions: 1. Blame the subordinates. 2. Delegate work to the subordinates. 3. If something goes wrong, return to step 1. See? It doesn't have to be that difficult.

The side thing? No, it could mean they're about to pull a Nintendo...

Just went to EBGames to find out what they're going to sell it for. They got it set for $30 right now. Darn you inflation.

Tim Burton's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
Wes replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think this is out now. Anyone seen it? Is it any good? -
I can hardly wait for it. I hope the soundtrack lives up to the previous one's quality. And hopefully A LOT more stages.

I just don't need that mental image, so quiet you. If I were you, I'd follow like you have been; watch them in chronological order. DYRL is definately a treat. Then Macross Plus is the pinacle of awesomeness. Now Macross 7 is next, but I'd recommend maybe watching Macross Zero next, because it has a good blend of M+ & M7 aspects. M7 is its own beast, but if you like the rest of Macross you have a good 50% chance of at least enjoying it. You should be able to find electronic copies of them pretty easy. Look at Bittorrent sites to see if they have them, or try IMacross, one of those servers should have it. You should buy Macross Plus though, because it is licensed and has a suprisingly great dub job. Very much worth the price. If you want hard copies of the others, boots on Ebay should be cheap.

Same here. Horay! Netflix has the first two discs.

GASP! THE SPIES DID IT! ... Why did I never catch that? 314588 I think it was Lynn Kyle. Just because he was that much of a jerk.

I don't see the point in picking a "best" pilot. All that really matters is getting the job done and living to tell about it. I mean, yes, at the time Max was better than most everyone, but if his plane was in the exact spot as Kakizaki's when the Macross's shield when haywire he would have been just as dead. And speakning of Kakizaki, he was probably the closest to "veteran" status than any other Brownie pilot ever was. That has to count for something, , but even he didn't come out alive. Sure, talking about the "best" is convient when on a 1-on-1 dogfight situation, but how often does that happen? Often the one who survives is the one at the right place at the right time with the right equipment and the right attitude. Skill is also a nice extra. It's like Solomon said, "The race doesn't always go to the fastest, the fight not always to the strongest."

I know that they bought out Namco, and they had a pretty cosy relationship with Nintendo as of late, so it may be more them. Yeah, I don't like Bandai games at all. Unless it's a Gundam game, they don't care about the quality. Only reason we got a good Macross game out of them was because Sega worked on it.

No offense but that's got to be the most retarded thing I've ever heard. I mean really, to take probably one of the most perfect examples of hand-drawn animation and attempting to outdo it PLUS crap it up with CG would just totally rape my childhood. 313726 What if we made it live-action WITH CG? 313733 Wasn't somebody going to try that at some point. I mean sweet zombie on a stick that sounds awful! 313763 Yeah, but we don't know what it was going to be about because it never got that far. Hey Renato, remember, this is the guy who's brain-child/bastard was Macross 7. I may like his mechs, but I wouldn't put much past the loon.

Isn't it that nasty metal-liquid-stuff that's used to check your digestive tract? If it is, it's the worst-tasting stuff in the world, I had it one time. But yeah, it was kind of funny when I torrented the episode, but not funny because I was eating lunch when I got around to watching it. That seems to be my luck.

You all have come up with a good point, maybe without noticing it. Price of the system will be important, and they're most often sold at a loss, but how much of a loss can the companies afford? Now, each company makes their profits from the licensing fees per copy for the games on their systems. Let's just say this is $10 bucks. I'm going to throw in another guess and say that the casual gamer will buy 10 games througout the life of the system. No, that may be too low, because I think they would own the system for about 5 years, they would want more than 2 games per year. Let's say 15 games, 3 per year. I'm also going to assume that there are not enough of the intensive type gamer like mikeszekely described himself eariler to be, who plays videogames during most of their free-time. That seems to be the opinion of everyone here, who say that casual gamers are driving the industry. So under this assumption, the companies would be able to easily price their systems at $100 dollars below cost and still make $50 in profit for each system. Given that the PS2 has sold close to 100 million systems, this could net them nearly a billion a year from the PS2. Assuming that the R&D cost get paid off and the manufacturing cost go down over the life of the system, I think the $50 profit thing could still remain for those who buy the system late into the generation. This is where Nintendo's setup really helps them out. Let's say that the game developers make twice the game's licensing costs in profits, in my example $20. Well, Nintendo is considered the best game maker out there (except by those loser Square-Enix fanboys... ). Everyone who buys their systems tend therefore buys alot of their games. They don't have to pay licensing fees, so that money can go right into their pockets, hence they make $30 bucks per game. They can therefore sell just 5 of their games to their customers (which I bet they do easily) and take the same systerm-price-hit as the rest of them. Due to this fact, there is no reason to believe they're going anywhere soon. I can't think of who does Sony's 1st-party work, if anyone does. I know Microsoft owns Rare now, do they own Bungie as well, or are they 2nd party? Any others? I haven't been able to find any specific profit info related to the systems for the companies, much less how much they charge in license costs and how many games they sell per year. If anyone could get this info, it might give a better picture as to good price ranges for the new systems.

Why is everyone sad? Death isn't pleasant, but he was 85, and he clearly lived a very fill life. And now he has release from that nasty Alzheimer's. If there was one disease I wish doctors would hurry up and cure it would be that.
