  1. It was a decent giant robot movie but wasn't a very good Transformers movie.
  2. This season has been dragging hard core. I couldn't wait to watch the next episode in Season 1... If it keeps up this way, I won't mind missing an episode entirely next week.
  3. Saw Wave 2 at Frank & Sons but never at retail. In fact I've never seen any single carded at retail. Just the Joe pack once (which I bought).
  4. Had no problems reading anything on my 60". What resolution?
  5. Hmm... I have the old demo and was rather bored with it....
  6. Ah yeah, forgot about that. Damn. Guess I'll pass at least until a markdown since the reviews aren't exactly glowing.
  7. The 2nd generation A2's are also available from Costco (as the A2C or D2), if you're so inclined, and includes an HDMI cable in the box. Last I was there, they were still $249 but remember Cotsco's unlimited warranty for such things, if that matters to you. The A2 is not capable of 1080p (only capable of doing 1080i), which is really a non issue if your HDTV does proper deinterlacing (in other words, does not bob to 540 lines and then double), as a number of them (even the 2008 models), do. For myself it's a total non-issue, as my HDTV deinterlaces correctly. It's also not capable of 24p if you're one of the elite with a 24p capable display (72 to 120hz). It's the lower end player while the flagship 2nd gen XA2 and (recently released) 3rd gen A30 and A35 take the upper levels (and pricepoints). Both are still going with the 5 free HDDVD deal (as well as the 360, which now also includes 300). It does not have multi channel analog out though does allow that out as PCM through HDMI. Good and solid player, though it loads slower than both the 360 and much slower than the PS3. If you already have a 360 and it's noise doesn't bother you, that's impossible to beat.
  8. Made a Japanese account for the GT5 demo. I am loving the GTR something fierce. My favorite car in ages and a blast to drive. The in-dash realism towards photos for the GTR and STi was great, too.
  9. So what's the story on this flightstick? Will my Saitek X35/36 work with the 360 (looks identical except for the goofy Xbox colors)... Obviously I expect my Thrustmaster Cougar to blow it away...
  10. 60 is discontinued and the 40 lacks PS2 backwards compatibility. I have a 160G in my (formerly) 60GB. You buy the 80 if want a game and PS2 compatibility.
  11. PoweredByFlo said he saw you. Maybe we'll get Trav on at the same time and we can try some coordination. I have some ideas... I'll PM you. Do you have your headset synched up?
  12. 1) Plug in the USB drive. 2) Go to System Settings 3) Go to Backup Utility 4) Backup
  13. ISupply way overestimated many components as well. It's hard to estimate but many of those component prices aren't so far off from retail, much less wholesale, much less if you own the factory that's producing those things (like Sony did with the blue laser diodes, for example). R&D always takes a long time, especially for a game console, to pay off so isn't applicable. Paying nvidia over a hundred bucks is almost as laughable as paying $40 for "manufacturing costs" (in China for most of them, mind you) and $50 for the hard drive and RAM. I've always been of a mind that component and assembly wise, the PS3 was more more affordable than has been commonly thought. The biggest expense has been in the R&D (which shared synergy with the electronics division) and with the development itself. Anyways, we need more clannies for Warhawk. Anyone interested and not otherwise obligated, come visit clan UXI. I have many ideas on really basic small unit tactics (used to great effect on BF2 and in real life paintball) and coordination.
  14. Heh, wonder if I did a dog & pony for you, warmaker? When would this have been? I did many a dog & pony at Miramar when i would get voluntold for such things. And it was pretty cool, especially helping hot chics. If you ever see an FSU tank in person, their small size will amaze. They're tiny compared to the Abrams. The 60 is nice and roomy on the inside but that thin armor and high profile make me very uncomfy. Some of the old schoolers (the Marines kept the M60s all the way through Desert Storm so many of the top staff NCO/officers are still biased) still swear by those things, amazingly enough. We met up with the Queen's Royal Lancers (with Challenger II's) outside Basra and they were pretty cool, but that multipiece ammo sounds like a major PITA, especially when things get chaotic in a fire fight....
  15. Never tried it PC to PC, but I suppose as long as you had a FAT32 partition available on the PC, it should be doable (currently PS3 can't see NTFS partitions at all).
  16. Never thought they would do a sequel. Sounds cool.
  17. Indeed. Thanks! Great ship. Wish it had been the Galactica all along as it's much closer to the original. Course I still wish they could have done a continuation instead of remake and if they HAD to do the remake, they'd have got Dirk Benedict to be Cain (and a former contemporary of Adama) ala the original series. And Ship of Lights, Count Iblis, etc. ah well.
  18. I'm going to have to go with: 1) 1/48 VF-1A Low Viz. Love mine. 2) 1/60 YF-19FP. Incredible. 3) 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru. Always wanted one. Got 'im strapped up with Strike Armor ready to rock next to my MP Prime.
  19. 1) Any chance of US/North America distribution/support (broken parts, etc)? 2) Can we get a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-1 using all the tricks learned from 1/48? I still want moving flaps and removable radome, please. Make BP-8 diecast. Removable heat shield is fine with me. Definitely have removable intake covers if they can't work out a latch. 3) Any chance of M7/VF-X2 designs (VF-19A/F/S, VF-22S, VF-17D/S, VF-11C)? 4) 1/60 Nos/Q-Rau from Macross Plus? 5) Ghost X-9? 6) Zendraedi 1/60 scale (Regult with accessories-pack most desired for me. Keep it under $70-80 and i'll buy many)? 7) 1/60 Destroids?!
  20. You can back up the games (and other data) to a USB drive. This is what I did before putting in my 160GB.
  21. I know the prototypes were done but Congress never funded them. We still use the M88 (on it's 4th or 5th variation, bigger power packs,e tc)... they just are too small to effectively tow an Abrams.. I've seen them lose controls, spin out, go sliding, etc. They're great at getting out a stuck Abrams and pulling the engine out, but for towing the best tool in the field is usually another Abrams.
  22. It's not the player where you need these tweaks, but a decent AVR. You want louder dialogue, raise the center channel, which is where 90% of dialogue comes from. You want to dampen the explosions and SFX, lower the FL and FR speakers... Cream of the crop allow bass management, channel adjust, DSP, etc over 7.1 PCM stream.
  23. We need an M1 based recovery vehicle far more than a flame tank (I was actually envisioning using M60 or tuna boat chassis myself. Application in Iraq would be limited but we could make many a jihadi-roasted-marshmellow in Afghanistan... The flechette-filled beehive round would be second to none for massed concentrations of troops, though. Git'r Done!
  24. You said you're using ethernet right? Have you checked for collisions at your switch/router (assuming it's managed) and your duplex settings? The gigabit ethernet on the PS3 blazes so sounds like you have a bottleneck somewhere... With tweaking, you can get good performance out of the wireless, but it wasn't like that out of the box for me. I had to adjust settings both on the PS3 and my WAP itself and carefully monitor the network connection screen until I could get as strong a strength possible.
