  1. Very nice progression, Ghostkiller. Looks great! Overall, I still prefer Dobber's scheme but it looks much more complicated (and thus time consuming and expensive). I definitely see Ghostkiller's as more likely for Yamato to give us and Dobber's to remain the customizer's choice.

    SV-51 CF!!!

Yeah not too fond of this. I like the Ivanov and have been meaning to get a v2 if/when that happens. The Nora scheme I didn't like at first, but it's grown on me. I would prefer the "Dobber" scheme to be my CF... How/when do the Ruskies decide what scheme they're going to use, anyway?
  3. But yeah, that's articulate, I think. :ph3ar:
  4. Looks like I'll be a tie breaker in favor of Rock Band. Not interested in either of these really but I could see the potential of some fun with two other friends...
  5. Picked up a Cobra Legion pack. Wish this one didn't come with CC or Storm Shadow with the outlandish paint scheme.. Nice to get a new outfits (especially for CC), but this would have been best as a troop builder pack. Put these variant costume figs in variants of the original Cobra 5-pack...
  6. Hmm... the cardback for "Sgt Flash" makes me hope they have a greater attention to detail. He's listed as a sergeant but is ranked E-4? Iron Grenadier Destro will be mine, though. Hopefully we get some IG troops, most definitely, as well as the Sergeant Major character. They can keep that goofy Voltaire guy, though.
  7. I'll add Warhawk, Motorstorm, and Resistance to Mike's list.
  8. I like the movie 1701/A design the best myself with the TOS design a runner up. No complaints about Excelsior design, though. I agree, Ent D TNG is pretty homely. Sovereign is a good design, too. I do like the evolution you can see as they go towards the Sovereign and Intepids... NX01 "Akiraprise" definitely is an anachronism... amongst the rest of Enterprise's issues...
  9. I was smelling conspiracy, too. :adjusts tin foil hat:
  10. How can you tell the fixed versions from the old? I was looking at Frank & Sons yesterday at Beachhead, the Red Ninja, and Firefly...
  11. That plot actually sounds pretty goood. TOS and the war episodes of DS9 are the only Trek I can really stomach. Quinto looks surprisingly in character, too.
  12. The difference is between playing AI, even the best of which is predictable. THe most challenging single player games are either click on everything until you get it right types (Myst, etc) or those where the computer has inhumanly superior speed or multi-tasking, etc. From Command & Conquer and Warcraft to Unreal Tournament and Janes ATF Gold, were the first games where I got to see this. I could thrash them all on the hardest settings... but play against people and you can't predict what they're going to do. Sometimes they do dumb things... but they're far more cunning than the computer could ever hope to be. That's why I was playing BF: Vietnam long after BF2 first came out. The game was still entertaining. Now I'm still playing BF2 even though 2142 has been out awhile. My console gaming is all Warhawk at this point since the game has a great mix of different skills you need (mastering dogfighting in a Warhawk/Nemesis is entirely different from doing infantry which is different still from vehicle combat). Getting on a good team with good coordination on objectives (Capture the Flag: Offense versus Defense) and Zones is great. Effective small unit tactics also greatly help in Team Death Match, as well, which have the simpler objective of "kill the bad guys more than they kill you).
  13. It wasn't for a lack of trying. They did some test cases with select units at Edson Range and the proportion of Unqs was much much higher. IIRC, the main problem was from 500, but there was also a much higher proportion of miss from 300. Just not enough barrel length and no way is the USMC ever dropping the 500 yard range. The M16A4 is the current iteration, mostly with the same acoutrements of the M4 (MWS and RIS). We were already seeing units with the M16A4 in Iraq in 2003 and it has now almost entirely superceded the older M16A2. That's because of your myopia as a Marine. It would be similar to asking where the Marine Armored Divisions are. Just not our thang. Mostly, though, the dedicated infantry division, mechanized of course, is a victim of Combined Arms. Even when we have complete 3rd Marine Division was effectively disbanded outside of the headquarters group and a few key units in the same period. US Army went from 55 down to 36 active combat brigades and the national guard went from 55 to 39 combat brigades. We're supposed to be to 43 active combat brigades by the end of 2007 IIRC and they were considering going to 48 for 2008, so that end has already been on the uptick...
  14. Picked me up a new BFG 8800GT OC for my new build (E6750, 4GB of DDR2 1066) Haven't really fired it up with any games yet, but will most likely for Crysis.
  15. It would have been better if Sylar, Nathan, and Peter had died in teh explosion at the end of season 1. Their stories would have ended on a high as their character arcs were completed.
  16. Yeah just watched Countdown yesterday from my new Animeigo set and I remembered Hikaru using them in his 1J from my Robotech set. Who could forget the DYRL Hikaru. Nice summary, though VA!
  17. Isamu had greater raw talent while Guld was more disciplined. Isamu was egotistical individual while Guld was a team player. Easily lopsided in favor of Guld. Then we learn that while Isamu was reckless, Guld has been fighting his Zentraedi instincts and the drugs may or may not be further affecting it. Even so, its easy to prefer Guld all the way through Plus until it's flipped on us at the very end with the flashback, though Guld nicely redeems himself with his sacrifice. If I was going into a fight, I'd much rather have Guld on my wing, but Isamu is the ace you want in my Macross story. Voted Isamu, by a hair.
  18. Neither could I. Saw this thread and ordered on the weekend. Got it today. Outside of getting the shipped notice this morning (and nothing before), had me scratching my head, though. Glad to see it. Liner notes are a nice treat. My first Standard Def DVD purchase in well over a year, if not close to two... but just too good to pass up. Probably go through the whole series again this week.
  19. Seriously. I've never been an early adopter at anything before... When Win 95 came out I was using 3.11. Hell when Win 98 came out I was using 3.11. I was using Me when XP came out (adopted right after SP1). I ended up getting sucked into both HDDVD and Blu-ray. I prefer Blu-ray since it looks like it has longer "legs" and room to stretch the format and the predominant support of the CE and movie industries, but it wouldn't be a bad world if HDDVD survives either. Being a gamer, I already had a 360 and a PS3 was a foregone conclusion. The fact that the PS3 is such a great Blu-ray player is just gravy. The 360 is more mediocre and has it's own negatives (mostly the 360's own noise) but is much faster than the cheaper Toshiba players.
  20. I don't even hunt anymore. Just about anything and everything will be at Frank & Sons for a not necessarily unreasonable markup. I got Snake Eyes v2 and Stormshadow v2 for $7.50 each what 2 months ago? Haven't been by for at least a month but will probably get Firefly and Zartan next. Maybe Stalker depending if I like the way he looks or not.
  21. I liked being an Air Marshal. Now I'm a stinkin' Wingman again. heh, think I skipped that rank the first time.
  22. Warhawk patch is out and they fixed the ranks.
