Frys has just about been able to meet or improve on just about any Amazon price out there, even before you consider shipping & handline, most of the time. Not everyone has one local, however. Other times I've used Target and Best Buy when I have a Target ad handy for them to price match. That said, I have purchased a couple titles off amazon (Buy 1 Get 1 ) and got Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence on Blu-ray (7.1ch lossless audio goodness!) on the web. Most of my buying has been limited to new releases, though, since I have been rebuying very few catalog titles I already own on DVD (Pearl Harbor, Spidey 1, and BlackHawk Down as some of the few that come to mind). -

I'm more than happy to spend $25-30 for a new HD release that brings out the glory of my 60" SXRD and 7.1 high def audio out of my Denon. $30+ I have to really want it... if the value is there, I'm willing to pay it. For most Fox Blu-ray and HDDVD combos, that's not the case but I have no probably at all spending $20-30. -

I'll change out the cable tomorrow probably. I have reset the BIOS and deleted from device manager (followed by the requisite reboot). Thanks everyone. -
BBI 1/32 F-4J Phantom II released!

I would have been all over this at 1/18. -
Have I mentione that I would have been sooooo much happier if Peter, Nathan, and Sylar had died at the end of Chapter 1? Instead both Peter and Sylar will be even MORE super duper powerful. They're going to suffer from Fantastic Four syndrome and eventually we'll run out of disbelief to suspend. If we haven't already.

Nope, can't view anything in any format. There are no drivers on the Sony site, so I'm thinking it's a default driver. It was working fine though. Maybe one of the Windows updates in the last month or so fragged it? -

All of the Harmony's are effectively the same remote. The only thing you pay more for is size of the screen and whether it's color not, and how many soft buttons you want. I have a Harmony 720 and love it. Good sized color screen and not nearly as bulky as the awkward peanut shape of the 880/890. Backlighting is perfect and it has a cradle/charger. -
It's already on Youtube isn't it? I still would like to see a frame by frame, particularly when the legs are coming down from Fighter to Gerwalk, if not the whole transformation that we see. Removable limbs don't bother me as long as 1) it's secure when attached and 2) it's not required for transformation Sure looks beautiful. Definitely getting one.

Love the YF-19FP. I was eyeballing the Nora SV-51 this weekend. Looks like a beauty, but I'd say that ultimately you need both. Given the relative pricing (YF-19FP is cheaper at ~200-220$ while the Nora was $240) I'd say that should make it easier.

Learned about Yamato Valkyries coming out somehow or the other... found valkyrie-exchange.com and from there found here.

One of my DVD burners has basically stopped working. Device Manager says it's operating normally and troubleshooting doesn't reveal jack. It shows up as a CD-ROM and nothing will autoplay except a blank DVD-R (which prompts me to burn a disc, etc - but it won't burn). If I put anything in there (audio CD, CD-ROM, DVD, etc) it doesn't see anything. No new drivers available and I updated my firmware. It's a Sony DRU-810A. It was working great probably 2 or 3 weeks ago (last time I burned a DVD) and is only a year old maybe. Maybe two.... -

The web app is even easier than the Windows ap with slightly less flashy graphics but the same net effect. -

Heh. It's like crack... first hit is free (or at least cheap). What's the saying? Buy cheap, buy twice? There are some decent HTiB's that will probably fulfill a bedroom setup. -
Indeed. The main story, the Protodelvin attacks on M7 was certainly dealt with. Geperenich (and Glavil) seems to get off a bit easy (with not even a "sorry about the millions we've killed and wounded")....
-
Definitely a much better scheme for the CF, too...
-
Is this going to be a Takara version of the US Masterpiece? Or just an import of the US version?
-
Heh, is THIS one going to renamed, too?
-
I'll still watch season 1 on HDDVD and pretend that Peter, Nathan, and Sylar died. And given where he went, Parkman too.

DVD's the world over are going down in sales. What the content producers need to realize is that the 20th century mechanisms for distribution are an anachronism. We had music and arts before we had the recording and publishing industries... and we'll have them after, if they fail to adapt. These big companies aren't needed to produce such things (things like private funding and sponsorship predominated historically) and they're increasingly not needed to distribute them (the Internet works quite nicely for this)... I would be happy to pay someone for a decent quality copy of Macross 7. I was happy to pay an HK bootlegger for relatively great picture quality, even if the subs were ok at best, decent most of the time, and horrendous at others. I would have much more gladly paid Bandai Visual, ADV, or even HG, but I'll stick with the Psycho Korps fansubs until Big West (and the rest of the collective industry) pulls their heads out.

Think I got mine for 120 or so from HLJ preorder. Also got the 1/48 FAST/STRIKE pack set (currently on my Hikaru 1S). I have one out and stickered and the other lingering in its box. Always meant to get some Takatoys decals to put on 182 instead of the Yamato stickers on 181.

I was expecting a mod on the Taraka MP1...
-
How much does MP SS go for at Wal Mart? THey had several at Frank & Sons today ranging from 70 to 90. Takara Skywarp is 80-90 at the same Vendors. I buy frequently from these guys so would realistically be looking at 70 for Hasbro Starscrem and 75 or so for Skywarp... Also if someone could compare the QC and materials... I'm expecting the Hasbro to be cheaper and less (if any) die cast similar to the Prime/MP1... I definitely prefer the G1 colors (which I didn't get the Takara SS and I hate being a guinea pig for a first release) but Skywarp was my very first transformer back in the day....
-
They should have made that damned part in die cast. As is, it's a potentially fatal flaw. Hopefully if/when we get a new 1/60 VF-1, it will use that same design but in metal... at the very least some metal o-rings on each side of each loop.

I can't wait for the YF-21. Definitely my favorite Valk. Looks incredible! Hopefully they hide those screws on the shoulders with some covers or something... Can't wait to see the FP and gun pods. The thrust vectoring panels looks quite different from the 1/72 flatter and with no curve. More line art accurate, and probably more realistic, but I think I like the 1/72's better aesthetically... Everything else, there's no comparison (and the 1/72 FP remains one of my favorite Valks to this day). Is the eye gonna light up like in the commercial?
