  1. I almost want to get another one. Only on sale, though. Still miffed I got it full price from HLJ and 2 days later they had their paypal sale.
  2. Ugh. No reboot, please. Just give it a decade, at least, if you don't wanna keep going with Tobey, etc.
  3. The price I'll happily pay as a hobbyist to get something authentic, instead of something done wrong. Realistically, we could live with a mis-colored pilot, and probably won't make any difference to their bottom line, but us fans can have our cake and eat it, to.
  4. Should get him to post here (under an alias most likely).
  5. They haven't done the pilot for the VF-11C yet? Or Graham trying to tell them they did it wrong with visual evidence?
  6. I def light fighter the best, but also love the VF-22's Gerwalk. The Toy is one of Yamato's best renditions, as well. Most stable and what not, as well.
  7. Here's some I just snapped from M7 Remastered (patched), Ep 8, with Gamlin in the VF-11C flight suit. Any particular angles you're looking for?
  8. Damn, I was hoping for a mirrored canopy Low-Viz VF-22S. A shame the process isn't reliable. I was REALLY hoping for a green Q-rau. Seems like an easy repaint on an existing mold. Articulated pilot wasn't really realistic (unless they do a line of articulated Zents, which would tie into enemy mecha). Maybe I'll get a Max... What could they not like about the articulation? My biggest single desires are aforementioned LV VF-22S, a 1/60 low-viz VF-1A (just like the 1/48 v1), and LV VF-1J, Regult, Green Q-rau, Nos Ger, and a Metal Siren.
  9. You can say that again. Good evidence being gathered. Hopefully Yamato does it right and takes care of it.
  10. Can someone summarize or point me to a link with a Cliff's notes explanation of NUNS, SMS, etc and how they came about from "old" UN Spacy. I don't recall that being explained in Frontier... or do we just have conjecture it was based off VFX2, etc?
  11. Well we know things like external hardpoints for fighters/bombers have limits other than the available surface area. The same concept would hold for micro-missiles, as well. Their mass and volume must be accounted for, but also the position on the airframe, as well as balancing the firing (don't want them to predominantly fire from one side or the valk would lose it's balance/center of gravity, etc). Other issues that would be prime on designers minds are effects of damage (if a hit could/would detonate a carried weapon, etc), what the secondary explosions, could would do, etc. To that end, having them in the cramped shoulders of the VF-17 makes a certain amount of sense, for example. If the micro-missiles, explode while carried, it takes the arm off with it, but don't lose the whole valk. Legs of the VF-19 are a bit more critical (since that's where the engines are), but it may have that they designed that external panel of the leg to blow out and reinforced the interior of the leg where it faces the ammunition magazine. VF-22 doesn't seem as good of a spot, but since it's a spec ops valk piloted by elite pilots, it may be discounted (and/or VF-22 could have special, more dense armor, use of the pinpoint barrier, etc). I'm discounting more anime magic because Kawamori designs these to be relatively workable. Sure, it's still anime, but SK's designs are usually well engineered conceptually, if you can accept the premises of overtechnology and what not, which most of us do.
  12. I'm gonna see if I can get a count of Max's missiles fired on Varauta.
  13. I was just reading your review of the CMS Shadow Legioss and it looks better. What's wrong with it's fighter mode? Just read the review of your blue Legioss/Tread combo and particularly the comparo picture looks better wrt arched back in fighter but worse in the arms and color, as well as the complete lack of foresight in connection wrt Tread/Beta. Colors are brighter, mostly relevent for the non-Shadow/Dark... might the best solution be a Frankenstein of Masterpiece and CMS with a repaint? I really wish Toynami would revisit the Alpha. Seems like they're pretty close to getting it right if they can check the atrocious quality control. With lessons learned, it COULD be better, particularly if they designed it off the Beta.
  14. Been browsing the thread, but could someone recap that the Shadow Alpha was defective? I transformed mine a few times, but it mostly stands transformed. My favorite Alpha easily but annoyed at the arched back thing in fighter, which would ordinarily be the favorite mode. Is the CM one better in that regard? I see several on evilbay for attractive prices... was there ever a Dark Tread by CM? Or a Shadow Beta by Toynami?
  15. Got the Blu-ray back before Christmas and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Think the movie works alot better if you pretend Skynet did NOT figure out who Reese was (John would still know, of course, and still be motivated to go get him). "The Trap" angle still works if Connor is just some high profile target from their list based on the effectiveness in the field (as alluded by the leadership on the sub).
  16. Decided to evil bay some longer/replacement smokestacks for my US 20th Prime rather than buy a Takara (which just seemed wasteful). For the most part, very satisfied. The "transplant" was very easy. Looking at the closeup pics on seibertron, doesn't have that bevelled edge or the hole (i could def fix the latter with my dremel), but thinking I'm not going to bother since it's "good enough." Just as springy and my Prime looks complete standing next to Jetfire aka 1/48 Hikaru 1S.
  17. Season one on Blu-ray is incredible. Can't wait for season 2. Cartoon Network (even in HD) just doesn't compare.
  18. Ep 7 and 8 had some intermittent stuttering/freezing for some reason on my Sony 5 disc carousel... so I put disc 2 in my PS3 to see if I could replicate and guess what: no black subtitles. And no stuttering. The disc is clean with no smudges or anything like that... but that makes me think not every episode has these incorrect values...
  19. Problem with space and just how big it is: Fermi's Paradox. The bigger space is, the more likely space should be filled with noise from cultures running the gamut of the electromagnetic spectrum. We should be picking up cultures broadcasting primitive radio, tv, advanced TV. Doesn't mean we'd understand but the patterns and noise should be detectable, even by our instruments today. Like the light from the stars themselves, some of these would be "snapshots" to however long ago they were. Instead, it's nothing in every direction. None of the theories for answering it sound very plausible without getting into tinfoil hat territory ("they ARE there," controlling everything and/or everyone) or the completely supernatural idea that we really are alone/unique/created, etc. Which begs a whole set of mostly religious and/or philosophical questions. But that's science in general: the more you learn, the more you realize you don't know. Protodevlin as super Zentraedi obviously taps into the supernatural/other dimensional aka 'magical' to explain the Protodevlin's spirits, if not the concept of Spiritia itself. Just watched the episode. We're told that the Varauta force is much larger than previously, but apparently was no more effective than previous... or was it? We know the previous attacks were not intended to destroy M7, but to gather spiritia. We see several more poor VF-11C pilots get drained. Just as likely some of the "vampires" were retrieved with their collected spiritia, as well as new teams dropped off, using the attack as a diversion?
  20. Waiting for my VF-11B. Wife ordered it for my birthday.
  21. "Sir, if we don't tech the tech, the ship will explode!" "What if we tech at a polarity of tech instead. Won't that tech?" "I'm on it!" > Trek writers before getting advice from their technical consultants on what to substitute for "tech"
