I imagine Graham is specifically not commenting yet.

You said you have one coming right?

Annoying that there's not more info in the Chronicles. Appears I'm still not missing much except the pictures. Compendium also puts GV-17L on Guld's YF-21 and it's definitely not the same sound or visual effect as Gamlin's. Anyone want to conjecture on some of this info? I'm actually thinking VF-19 would use the same ammo as VF-11. Logistically that would make more sense, especially since VF-19 is supposed to be a mainline fighter and not special forces. That would lend itself to think that Guld would have to be a similar caliber, to be effective in competition. Still, prototypes frequently test out other equipment not intended for general production, so it's possible either use the special ops or general VF-11 caliber. Maybe go crawling through screenshots on Plus again to see if there's anything on the screens in New Eden.

Yeah they do. Each valk has a color diagram of it's transformation.

Fiyaaa! Bombaaa!

See the Valk Peripheral and "Detail Up" threads.

I still like 1/100 for a smaller, more affordable and easily displayed scale. I'm still reeling at the thought of 4 or 5 more $200+ VF19. Maybe 1/100 would suit me better.

Different missions call for specialization and different planes. The only part of M7 that deviated from real life military models is the "special forces" getting a unique planes and leader variants. Sound Force and their unique vehicles are obviously unique to the story, which is where most of ht evariants come from. I do think Max and Milia getting red or blue fighters is a bit silly (I could see them with unique tail / squadron assignments or what not), but can chalk that off to creative license. VF-11MAXL is obviously, like many Kawamori designs, derived from real life variants, in this case the F-16XL. Most likely it's development was Shinsei's answer to the General Galaxy VF-17 in competition for the special forces role (Much like F-16XL was General Dynamics competing against McDonnell Douglas F-15E to replace the F-111). I'd loooove a realistic 'boobless' version. Without Basara, the Protodevlin win, well kinda. Max and Milia still drop nukes in Geperenich and cause him to turn into a spiritia black hole and everyone loses. That was the point of M7. Thousands of VF-11C weren't going to be enough. Elite VF-17's weren't enough. Upgrading to VF-19 or VF-22 weren't enough. Reaction weapons weren't enough. Battle 7 wasn't enough. Conventional warfare with weapons and elite pilots were doomed to failure, even against the Protodevlin's conventional forces, much less the Evil series themselves, who were said to wipe out entire Zentraedi fleets by themselves. But yeah, hope to get a pre-whale blood VF-19P out of this. I like that one even more than the Sound Force Kai. Argh, my wife is gonna kill me cause I'll most likely want a complete Emerald Force (2x VF-19F and 1x VF-19S).

Think of it this way... if they do the Boobie Edition, they could do the 'regular' non-boobie VF-11MAXL, too.
-
And begs the question of if/when Mylene and Ray/Veffidas valks will be out.
-
I'm thinking they'll put the guitar and shoulder harness / sound device on the figure sculpt. Not really enough room to do it as a separate piece in the cockpit.
-
I kinda doubt it. Maybe a lock on the torso. Otherwise, I expect it to mostly be what the VF-19F/D/Kai did over the YF-19/A and that's make the FAST Packs integral (larger shoulders and legs). I know the rest is different... but so is the line art from the actual design we got (most noticeably in the gullet), but such is the way of anime magic. I'm stoked that we'll be getting them! No way do I imagine the Sound Boosters will be standard, though it's possible there will be a bundle, higher priced SKU (like the YF-19FP). I don't really like the Sound Boosters as much myself, so will pass on them. The Kai means that the Blazer Valk is certain to follow.

Booya.

Definitely inconsistent in scale. The Meltran in Fleet of the Strongest Women are a full head taller than Max and Milia's VF-22S...

Is there any info on the ammo/magazine capacities on the VF-11 gunpod (and it's designation)? For VF-1, we know the GU-11 is 55mm with 3 barrels and has 200 rounds (though IIRC this is being retconned to 180?) VF-11 (not sure of the gunpod designation), it's 30mm with 6 barrels, but no info I'm finding on ammo capacity other than 2 spare magazines under the ballistic shield VF-17 uses 40mm/8 barrel design with one spare magazine stored in the leg (or replaced by the energy beam adapter). No info on ammo capacity. I am a bit surprised at the change in caliber as I would have expected it to use the same ammo as VF-11. YF-19/VF-19 use the GU-15, but not seeing the caliber, number of barrels or ammo capacity per removable magazine (with at 2 spares under the shield). I'd be inlined to think it's the same 40mm as VF-17, but the gundpod is noticeably puny compared to the VF-11 gunpod (in addition to missing the most manly bayonet) YF-21/VF-22 went back to non-field reloadable internal magazines like GU-11. Not sure about capacity (other than the Chow-Yun Fat double grip). I do find it interesting that Guld's (and Max's) gunpod appears to be KE weapons but that Gamlin's VF-22 in MD7 appeared to be an energy beam cannon (similar to the one he attached in the latter portions of M7), but that they visually look the same. IOW, looking to compile info on 1) designation 2) caliber 3) number of barrels 4) magazine capacity (removable or no) 5) number of spare magazines (if applicable). Is any of this info expanded in the Chronicle from what's available in the Compendium?

I want a VF-0S but don't want to risk getting one with a bum shoulder. I love the weathering job, but am not as fond of the design, mostly because it's too anachronistic. I could buy it being a proto type somewhere after VF-11 but it's just too... curvy for anything before YF-21. Looking at it in the VF-1 Master Variable fighter, it especially jumps out in contrast to both F-14 and VF-1. There are also the 'gem' styled nose sensors like YF-19, and a few other small detail. I could see it and love it in a heretical reboot, perhaps, but just doesn't jive with the last 10 years of real life valk development as an intermediary/precursor design. Speaking of 1/60 being an odd scale, I was kinda hoping Yamato would do a 1/60 F-14X and from there branch out into other aircraft in the scale (probably JASDF, but I'd kill for them to do a YF-23 and F-22A). Non-transforming means simpler, though nice details like removable missiles, opening weapons hatches, airbrakes, radomes, flaps, etc could be nice.

Britai is the larger sized Zent than the standard troopers. I would expect Miria to be sized off of the standard trooper, if not a bit smaller for being female.

Given accurate physics, bigger space ships should be capable of more acceleration and turning than smaller ones. No air, and they can put proportionally larger engines, verniers, etc.

Doesn't have to be Yamato. Bandai could do a new 1/3000 SDF-1 just as well as rehashing the old. Imagine what we could see.... opening hangar door on the Daedalus with miniature destroids inside. Optional TV ARMD accessories. Opening panels to show the town inside? Lights and sound.
-
Hell yeah. I want the MII Phalanx more than just about any other destroid.

1/60 accessory packs: NATO/JASDF weapons, Foldo Boosta, VF-11 Chaser Rocket Booster, VF-11 Protect Armor, Ground Crews 1/60 VF-11B Ravens repaint 1/60 VF-19A Ravens repaint 1/60 VF-22 non-canon repaint (low-viz?) 1/60 VF-11B Milia repaint 1/60 VF-11B Max repaint (non-canon but always do M&M) One new sculpt: I have to admit the VF-4 is growing on me (despite never really being that fond of the design). My hope is that we'll see the Diamond Force VF-17D around summer with the Diamond Force VF-17S later on in the year

My only real complaint on the 11B is the ballistic/arm shield and how it falls off too easy. Why couldn't they have stuck with the method they used on YF-19? That one seems very sturdy and secure yet still lets you transform without it falling off. I'd probably add about the landing gear. Haven't tried real hard with a toothpick or anything but getting them landing gear out with just my fingers is impossible. Clearance with the gunpod also reminds me of 1/60 VF-1 v1. Line art be damned, give it a couple extra mm of length and locks so it can roll free and taxi and what not.

Yeah that's pretty bad. Don't mean to make light of your misfortune, but I couldn't help but laugh at the crooked head pic.

Of course, I REALLY like the idea of Toynami doing Invid mecha (5 packs of scouts, etc) and will almost certainly get at least one of their vinyl Regults to go with my Revos.
