Going back to the Beta from the CMs Tread, definitely appreciate it's vastly bigger size and far sturdier feel, if I'm a bit disappointed in the chest/cockpit and lack of shoulder missiles. Paint app on my green appears perfect. Not quite satisfied with it's connection to the Alpha, either, but it's miles ahead of the CMs.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Eh? I have no problem networking my Win 7 or Win XP with my Macbook Pro. What problems are you having? I actually haven't tried to make the Win 7 talk with the XP machines yet, though. -
Do you have any pics? One thing I've noticed is Fighter/Arm stability is also much improved when you use the center piece missile launcher (Stick/Eta) and/or the Synchro-cannon (Dark). Fighter/Legs are still bad, though. All it needs is another connection point or two to the legs and it would be perfectly stable.

Yamato subcontracting with Bandai could make sense wrt the M7 valks coming... -
Picked up the CMS blue Eta Legioss/Tread combo with upgrade parts. That seller was pretty good... I just haven't been home to sign for the package and it's been sitting at the post office. Legioss: The hips are MUCH floppier than the Dark Legioss and one of the feet is really loose, as well. In partially dissecting the leg, to tighten the screw, I noticed an area that should have been included with more upgrade parts... they should have included a new leg Panel (with missile launchers) with a peg/detent to connect ot the arm and hold it together in fighter. I'm not seeing near as many screws on the arms, but the way this thing should be is to have a 2 connecting points on the forearms... one would connect the arm to the inner edge of the wing and the second would be right next to that one, slightly longer and connec the arm directly to the inner leg. Tread: Definitely much smaller (pilots alone show it' way out of scale) and generally cheaper feeling than the Masterpiece Beta but a decent Beta on it's own. I definitely like the shoulder missiles and like it's method for handling the cockpit. The upgrade parts are a bit puzzling... seeing how the connection is a big bag of fail anyway, I'll probably put the angular ones back. The Masterpiece/Aoshima doors open all the way In the perfect world, Masterpiece Beta v2 would do this for the cockpit/chest. The connection mechanism is a giant bag of fail, of course, as numerous other reviews have pointed out. Modifications I see in the near future... dremel/cut a small slot into the shoulder so that the tail fins can fully retract into the arm. Connecting bar attachment. It does bend up but is at the wrong angle to keep the Legioss close to the Tread when connected. I can see trying to rig something up so that it's at the raised spot... And maybe try to frankenstein some Masterpiece Alpha legs on there... maybe followed by a repaint.

I would probably order a couple things!
-
There would be room in the YF-19 sculpt if they turn the head around backwards, probably (so that the fins point into the body). It would be better if they came up with a better covering mechanism, though.

I actually didn't even know about English Fire and that it was real. Speaking of the music, is there anywhere to get it?

Yamato already has some sort of license... at least DYRL and M7, so I'm not getting why they'd be locked out, either... Or are you saying after Basara's 1/60 nothing else?

Got my first CMS (Dark Legioss from HLJ half off!, my Blue Legioss/Tread with upgrade parts is still at the Post Office). Fighter: I really like the way they handled the wingroots on the nose. I hate hate hate the way they did the legs, particularly not having any locks. The arms also desperately need pegs to connect the shoulders to the forearm. They should have done the vertical stabilizers different (more like the Yamato VF-11). Not sure that there's any salvaging the legs, though. Has anyone tried to put legs from a Masterpiece Alpha on one of these things? Soldier: Great articulation in the arms, like the waist articulation. Pretty solid competitor with the Masterpiece, which outside of the exploding arms is still pretty good.

Cool, thanks. Where do I find/start the Kahless Expanse Nebula missions? My game last night must have been glitched. It let me find the mission today and I found the Expanse and got to Level 6. Kinda STO'ed out, so I'll take at least tonight off and maybe start working on my Starfleet Lt Commander tomorrow. I'm kinda thinking I like the lines of the Exaclibur secondary hull better than the Constitution Refit... just wish the Excalibur had a rear shuttle bay... don't know what it's designer was thinking...

Decided to try out a Klingon.... after the first duel in the ring, can't find any single player missions. Can't enter PVP queue or any House Battles cause I'm LT5 as a Klingon... I killed two Feds in Ker'ralt after they got damaged by Borg, but didn't get any energy credits for it... how am I supposed to get XP?

My CMS Legioss/Tread set with the upgrade parts has been waiting at the Post Office.

What info is there on Fire Bomber American or whatever it's called on Macross 11? I'd be interested in those Sound Force valks... particularly if they're not just M7 Sound Force rips.

Call it a running refinement, or whatever, but a telescoping and/or folding connecting bar with detents should be more than doable. Integrated landing gear should be trivially easy to engineer in there, too.

Yeah, I've read that. Fortunately, never been a big fan of the Galaxy design. Now the Nebula OTOH... I really don't find many ships appealing until the Sovereign. None of the Commander level ships really appeal to me, so I'll probably stay with a cruiser until Captain, at which point I see myself either being a Defiant or Intepid variant, and then back to cruiser with a Sovereign at Admiral. Off-duty uniforms are a start, but symptomatic of a larger concept that is needed: away teams are currently either in "armed to the teeth" mode or you can tediously pull everything off, which is no good, either. They have a hint of it on the bridge, where the bridge crew are in their regular uniforms under the gear... just when the Captain shows up, he's still wearing his kit and armor. I'd like to get a choice on which 'profile' you want when you beam down (standard duty - uniform only maybe with a hand phaser, probably one of the small concealable ones, but also a sidearm possible; assault - armor, kit, rifles; off duty - queue images of Picard wearing his nutbag and grabbing his saddle ). Further, they could have missions and/or situations where coming down armed to the teeth isn't diplomatically sound (diplomatic missions, etc) or otherwise inappropriate (beaming down to Vulcan, Risa, Earth, etc), if not provoke a hostile situation that could otherwise be defused (different conversation tree for <insert alien species> ). I also hope they open up more of a ship for exploration / nerd-gasm (shades of that old Starship creator).

Ah, was on a load this weekend trying to get to Lt Commander. I'll probably take tomorrow the next couple days off, or if I do play, only do a mission or two, instead of the multi-hour sittings I've been doing all weekend. Finally retire my Centaur/Miranda and in with the Constitution Refit (originally I used Excalibur secondary hull, as well as nacelles, but will be permanently running with the Constitution Refit secodary hull, as well. The Battle 7 Fleet has been most helpful (well only ran into 1 in the actual game, but hoping that will change now that I can actually do decently difficult missions without getting roasted. Looking at the other Tier 2-4, ships, don't really think I'm gonna want anything until Captain, and then it'll most likely be a Sovereign variant, though I could see one of the other Tier 5 escorts. So no Excelsiors or Grissom type ships, huh? Balance wise, I think they should have probably limited the science ships to fewer slots that their comparable tier cruisers. Cruisers should be turning slower but should pack more weaponry than even the escorts (the Defiant was a freak outlier and should remain that way, even in the game). Tier 2 science ships should have 2 forward, 1 rear, for example (compared to 2/2 for cruisers and 3/1 for escorts IIRC).

All comes back to what Toynami should do and that's a v2 Alpha. Get rid of the die-cast, get tolerances right to get rid of the arch and incorporate the new tricks they picked up from their Aoshima partnership (ratcheted joints, etc). As good as it is, it could a v2 Beta could follow with a retracting connecting bar/cradle, folding landing gear, as well as the missiles in the shoulders. That's more of a refinement, though.

Agh, forgot the post office closed at 1 today. Now my CMs Legioss/Tread is still there... open 8-5... means I gotta take a day off or go in late or leave way early... most likely I wanna take a day off anyway.

What's something that I should want? I was browsing the Fleet bank and still making sense out of it all. Think I got a good handle... I need xp more than anything, though glancing at the ship prices in the shipyard, I could see where some of those bajillion energy credits could come in handy.
