I remember being puzzled why Max didn't track/pursue the retreating Protodevlin forces? After the first couple attacks, it shoulda been priority one to find out where these guys are coming from. I also had the distinct impression that the Protodevlin had massive forces since their losses never to seem to concern them.

He could have just sat there like a zombie or shot himself or cried like a baby, but his 'redemption' is in taking the bomb as far from them as he could to save his friends. The script writers had time to think about it, but In Universe, it would have been an instinctive split second decision without time for alot of contemplation or playing the angles at vengeance. But then the idea that the MiB could give him his girl back is kinda absurdly naive on the face of it, so Sayid is lost from that point (no pun intended).

It's definitely fun for at least a month or two. Whether you get longevity beyond that depends how heavily you play and what your goals are. I'm at about 2 months and still having fun, though not doing hard core 12 hour sessions or anything (you'll more quickly exhaust the content if you do)

Yeah everyone knows the shark would eat the eagle. Haven't you seen that movie where LL Cool J's parrot gets eaten by a shark Anyone see that Japanese site that had the various insects fighting each other? A modern Arena would be bad ass. Put convinced murderers, enemy combatants, etc against Hippos and Rhinos and Elephants and what not.

Crusaders (Wallace's closest contemporaries) did tend to die of heat stroke more than battle, but they also won quite a few battles against armies of Turcoman, Arabs, Kurds, and Persians, who would have been far better equipped than Zulus with technology, economy, and more advanced in concepts such as hygiene and scientific warfare.

I was inviting people that I was PvP'ing with and/or going on missions with and seemed pretty cool. I thought the contest idea would be pretty cool, even if I didn't think I had a chance of winning.

WTF is going on with the Fleet? Sub expired and didn't get around to renewing for a couple days. Came back and it's a ghost town and rumors about drama and kicking people out and mass kicks, etc. Fleet bank is wiped out. What did I miss?

If you're on a fat PS3 and out of warranty, I'd start planning on opening it up, since IMO that's the first sign of approaching YLOD. While it's got a great giant beefy heat sink, there are places where dust accumulates and there's simply no way to clear it out w/o opening it. The only flaw in an otherwise marvelous design...

I guess what I'm really asking is what evidence is there for anything other than a finned head VF-27? Brera, Grace, and the "CF" all have the same head in the animation. Is it from Chronicles or or anything other than just the model kit?

Just made Captain, finally. Initially went with a straight Galaxy... but never was real fond of that design. Spruced it up a bit with some Envoy parts (I like that neck... The other two saucers are monstrosities. This thing doesn't turn TOO bad, even... the Mark VI RCS Accelerator probably isn't hurting. Still a couple consoles short, too. And have more than enough energy credits to get either an Intrepid or Defiant if I'm not liking it.... This is just a placeholder until I can do most likely an almost pure Sovereign design...

Where was the 'truly generic' green one ever seen? Even in the first Ep, at the end, you still see the head fins on the two Green VF's with Breara in fold space IIRC. And the one that was gonna splash Alto (before Brera takes it out) also had the same head IIRC. IRL, maybe they didn't want to animate another head.... but the on-screen would need to be retconned with new animation, no? The Super Folda Boosta was only needed for speed and to circumvent the fold faults, right? IIRC, they have (standard) internal fold drives?

I went to a 160 and then 320GB on my original 60 with no issues at all. You gain nothing by going to 7200rpm or faster, and hear anecdotes that larger caches help (but no concrete proof). The whole YLOD thing and how much it increases the backup/restore time (with my 320GB it was something like 11 hours to get a full backup IIRC), I now believe using an external USB drive is the better way to go. Too bad Sony didn't put a USB port on the rear (like they had planned originally).

Star Control 3. It's definitely not as good as SC2... or even SC1 and I'm disappointed in more than a couple aspects of it. But still enjoy the game.

There's a DNS workaround. You set it to a third party that is poisoning/spoofing, or do it yourself. That's what I'm doing right now and get on PSN fine. The intital HTTP query to fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/us/ps3-updatelist.txt is plaintext. I am using my own DNS server to point anything *.update.playstation.net to my local web server, which is telling it that the next version is 0.0000. Not authenticating through anyone else and no need to update. Just went onto the Store and Home. I just wish I had done this before they changed the logos and login chime and XBL style advertising (except without all the convenience of XBL). That (2.9 IIRC) was another worthless update I could have done without.
