  1. The stickers definitely need to be trimmed more. A shame the kites at least tampo on. Anyone still doing custom stickers or decals? That thing is a beauty, though.
  2. Wow. Was not expecting a new mold. Guess it doesn't cost them as much if they never get tooling going and it's HDP? Wonder if that's a viable model for them to do a bunch of less popular designs? Mylene's VF-11 and the Protect Armor, for example.
  3. I'm sad to see the VF-11C listed as discontinued on HLJ. Sure it's old news by now. Gotta get one or two on Evilbay before they're all gone.
  4. Mixed feelings about the VF-17S. Fighter is absolutely awesome. 17D has always been my favorite. I am thinking VF-19P is probably going to be a kit only web exclusive. It's probably considered too niche to be a really widespread popular seller, they mostly reuse existing tooling and molds except for a few specialty parts and they avoid any question over whether to release the pollen/blood version or the much briefer white version. It would be a major waste of new tooling and the VF-17 is too waste for that, too, though I suppose it could be something like a Milia VF-17D Nice site, though. I am stoked to see that Art Storm Gatchaman G5. Was always kicking myself for not getting the old Unifive set with the fiery shroud (even with the complaints about the nose falling off, etc) when it wasn't insanely overpriced on evilbay and the like and this will make those regrets go away since it looks nice and affordable and dark blue/purple.
  5. I still would have preferred red, but I am even starting to like the Mongo head of the 17S. Can't wait!
  6. Yeah, I think the VF-22 could afford to be a tiny bit less sleek to get the gunpod in there, yet still be sleeker than the YF-21 with the Fast Pack plates on.
  7. Uh, 1/72 was brought up as preferable to 1/100. How much do you think the engineering is sacrificed on those? The Hi-Metal 19 Kai and S hold up pretty well against the Yamato, though obviously have some compromises (but they arguably wouldn't have to be made at 1/72).
  8. I imagine barring sales collapse, they'll come out with Sound Force version if just to further amortize the R&D costs. This is one design, I'm not set on for a non-canon low-viz version (not that my high desire for one helped with either YF/VF-19 or VF-22).
  9. 1/60 is the perfect scale for valks but really I'm kinda hoping for Yamato to revisit 1/72 to split the difference with 1/100 and as a popular modeling scale with plenty of possibilities for dioramas and the like.
  10. Really, I only want to see a 1.5-1.75 for the VF-19A. Just add the chest locks and reduce the gullet a bit and re-use the rest of the existing parts.
  11. Definitely looks bad ass. I wish Yamato would use nothing but ratcheted joints. Don't mind if there's a ball in between the ratchets/detents, though.
  12. lol double etendre. You know, I prefer the 1/60 v1 VF-1 to the 1/48. I always HATED that seem down the middle of the 1/48 head more than the squished of 1/60 v1.
  13. Battroid turns into a floppy mess especially when trying to pose the gunpod. Then there was the paint chipping thing. Otherwise, it's still one of my favorite valks, though I expect it to get knocked down the list by VF-17S
  14. 12/25 is a Sunday anyway.
  15. Yeah, I'm happy enough with my YF-19FP, I won't rebuy. I will buy a VF-19A Ravens, though.
  16. The role? Emerald Force's role is to replace Diamond Force, which is reassigned to City 7 in light of the continued attacks of the Varauta. The scene with the prototype VF-19S after he recovers shows he's clearly more skilled than the average VF-11 pilot, and as a previous member of Diamond Force, he's the natural choice. Of course, no matter how advanced the Valkyrie, it won't be enough to face the Varauta, much less the Protodelvin.
  17. I've decided to get the VF-17S over the VF-19S this year. Hopefully early next year, I'll get the other, though VF-17D could edge out Emerald Force again, though I eventually want to display a Gamlin vs Docker face off at the ruins of Macross 5.
  18. Wow, I was going to try to wait for the D, but that might not be possible.
  19. I'd love a copy of that printout. Looks like an itemized part list?
  20. Is that Graham's table?
  21. Gamlin is the only character who really grows. Mylene seems to mature a bit but Basara is completely the same at the end as he is at the beginning.
  22. I think we have a different definition of gimmicks. Something like the VF-25 stand IS more of a marketing/accessory thing while the 'gimmicks' I'm referring to are really fine detail that you only see limited use of in the anime, but really show a sense of... refinement and attention to detail.
  23. What gimmicks are possible and wonder how likely? In no particular order: 1) Opening hatch in Battroid. Would be pretty interesting to see, that's for sure. I think it SHOULD be possible, at least as well as the VF-19. 2) Gun storage in leg. Appears likely though quite to lineart, in the back of the leg 3) Beam weapon adapter 4) Foldo Boosta attachments (similar to YF-19 and YF-21/VF-22) 5) FAST Packs (probably a separate add-on) 6) Spiritia weapon (likewise) ?
  24. I'd get it. Ideally, we could get the QF-2001 (Zero0), QF-3000E (SDF), and X-9 (Plus) Ghosts in some sort of evolution pack? Along with 2 or 3-packs of former? Maybe throw in a couple 1/60 pilot and standing figs? Ground crews? Weapons packs? (I'd love AMRAAM's and AIM-9X that could mount on a VF-1 pylon).
