I'm definitely ambivalent about it. I'm cautiously optimistic to see Episode VII. I figured Lucas would do it anyway in another 10 years or so...

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome

Yeah the reasoning for starting Adama in a Raptor was perfectly explained and perfectly reasonable: to chill out. Would definitely be a great start for a series but is it already too late?- 696 replies

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
Uxi replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
What scale is that thing in and how big is it? I still like the classic TOS Battlestar design the best and the remake Pegasus comes closest but find that ass end to be... odd and ill-fitted. I like Blood and Chrome. I was thinking the betrayal sounded way too contrived... the pseudo love story thing certainly seemed it... but I like they way they turned it around with the hint from the star pilot from the beginning: it's all BS. I did love this far better compared by my gripes about the remake in general and the seeming lack of perspective they have in dealing with the biological Cylons (and I still hate the concept compared to what could have been modern renditions on the Lucifers and Imperious Leaders).... it's about survival and there's no time for hand wringing. Win the war and deal with their petty angst after.- 696 replies

I almost universally prefer sandbox games. Funny but I have the opposite issue with the GTA and RDR type games. I tend to get hooked into the story and start ignoring the side missions and have to do them on the second or subsequent playthroughs. Facing that the most in the Yakuza PS3 games (Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza of the Dead) but also in RDR and the GTAIV.

lol sorry It was a nice idea but just with leg telescoping and face switching is not nearly enough. He should significantly increase no less than 1/4-1/3 in bulk as well as height. Best to leave it to two separate toys or at the very least have the Rodimus Prime use it's Space Winnebago Trailer to form the bulk as an exoskeleton (and/or use it as a the "attack platform" with regular Hot Rod). I would like to base part half as thick maybe (and thus the "foot" would telescope out twice as much), but overall I like it. Part of the original design homage and provides support. I'm thinking the stands at the front not only need to open rearward but should telescope, as well. Almost looks like they thought of that and cheaped out. Or just went that extra mile on the sculpt. Should we be optimists or pessimists?- 16945 replies

Is anyone else bugged about the trailer stands for MP10? They should pull toward the rear so the cab could connect with the legs down and have enough clearance to rise and lower with the cab attached.- 16945 replies

Wife got my kid the DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime Chinese New Year version from Amazon on their special (want to say $50). I actually like the transformation and think it could be the baseline for the trailer for an MP PowerMaster Optimus Prime and/or Ultra Magnus/City Commander armor. The flared up "omega armor" really makes it look big but outside of the legs lacking articulation, pretty cool I think it could be useful to have the panels fold-up instead of flare out. My only real complaint is getting the arms back in the trailer mode and the lack of knee articulation for the omega armor." Obviously for MP, I would expect better paint application, more articulation, and some gimmicks in exchange for ditching the electronic BFG and a higher price tag. On the whole I was expecting to think it stunk and came away with a much better impression on the low expectations.- 16945 replies

That price seems way too low, though. Wonder if the description is wrong and it's not truck/cab only with no trailer? Otherwise that's half the price of the TRU release.- 16945 replies

Yeah, wish they had come with two Ion Cannons like the original did. One folding to store in the backpack and one fixed to store in the trailer. I don't really mind teh size as much as the sculpt deviation. I also prefer the paint scheme and green tip from the MP1, but it's too big for MP10.- 16945 replies

The Battle of Five Armies did much to alleviate the threat on the eastern theater, as it were: it severely weakened the Orcs of the Misty Mountains as well as removing the threat of Smaug and additionally put up a fortress at Erebor that the Easterlings besieged, diverting them from what would otherwise have been an attack on Rivendell.

Went out and saw it tonight. Regular 2D presentation. Lke the 'larger' tie in to LOTR (since it's stuff Gandalf doing "off camera" anyway and most of it seems pretty plausible, if not taken word for word from the apendices). Can definitely live with Radaghast, etc but scratching my head at rather... odd deviations from the book that just didn't seem necessary, especially Azog. I can live with Thrain disappearing at the battle (did they even show Thrain in the flashback?) but find Thorin's angst over the 'betrayal' of Thranduil another "WTF they did need to do that?", to say nothing of tying that in to Elrond, as well as making Erebor something all the Wise would have been interested in, instead of just Gandalf.

That's fairly easy to answer with the restrictions the eagle mentions to Gandalf: they won't go near populated areas because they'll be shot at with bows (since they usually WOULD be going after their sheep). Fairly obvious they would be even less inclined to go to the dragon. Besides which Gandalf can't really summon them whenever he wants.

Just the Batman look I mean. I was expecting the story skin/outfit to look more like the comic. Bane, Catwoman, etc are nothing like the Nolan obviously

Just spent a couple hours with Batman Arkham City. Pretty cool. Still learning the controls but for a decent price ($39.99 at Target), feel it was very worth it. Armored for Wii U. Makes pretty good use of the gamepad, sometimes almost distracting but still trying to learn all the controls. Very much in the mode of the Nolan Batmans it seems.

It's not just the materials, it's also the shape of the airframe, the intakes and exhausts, canopies. The saw-tooth edges around the canopy, landing gear and weapon bay doors, covers for external stores (if any). Etc etc.

I keep hoping CMs will revisit their design with improvement to their Legioss (locking arms with slots for the fins) and Tread molds with a better connecting arm that locks to the Legioss as well as it does to the Tread (I think it just needs modification to the front with an upgrade part cradle analogy).

Again, it should be noted that the Yen prices haven't gone up THAT much. It's the exchange rate that took most of the valks from $200'ish to $300'ish. They still have a nice markup as these clearances show, but just sayin'

Funny I pulled my FP off the shelf the other day and was pleasantly surprised with it. Never was that fond of the gullet or the lack of locks but still a great Yammie
