  1. Maybe... or maybe they know and don't care. Even Yamato put DYRL style FAST packs on the 1/60 Hikaru Super VF-1J. Just seems like they're milking their SP sculpts...
  2. IIRC, the gunpods go in the legs don't they? Or maybe in the armor pack... been awhile...

    Yamato 1/48 Question

Prepare to make your credit card/wallet groan with the likely price! Probably only if the 1/60 one does well...
  4. Wow this thread is flying... I already have DYRL on DVD. Good enough for what it is, I think... so doubt I'd be buying an HG Version. Don't see what an official R1 release could add... mabye slightly better quality...
  5. Individually it doesn't sound like these are gonna compare to the Ep 1 and Ep 2 releases. Commentary and a good digital master on the main disc with all the specials on the 4th disc (like the Indy set)... People CAN dispute his "artistic vision" but I don't think anyone can credibly say Lucas is milking the fans when it's the opposite. Licensing underoos for KIDS is perfectly in line with his statements that's who he's aiming the movies at to begin with. NOT you Blaine, regardless of whether you think he owes you for "making him" (along with about a billion other people). I had forgotten about that other thread. Thanks for reminding, Hurin.
  6. I think Bandai could give Yamato a run for their money on accuracy... if they wanted to. And they'd produce in volume enough to beat them on price. Looking at the Takara/Hasbro Optimus Prime, it's almost enough to wish they would at least try...

    The 1/60 Monster

Woudln't surprise me if this thing was dead. Wasn't it back to the drawing board or something like that. I mean the thing is just big... Yamato could be able to make it hollow and save money (and thus MSRP) but I don't see that happening, either...
  8. I woudln't mind hearing the guy who did Roy Fokker do Focker in Zero. But otherwise, no reason to have any other RT voice actors in Zero or DYRL (which can be a "fictional movie-in-a-movie" done in RT's universe).
  9. Or maybe that HG was actually able to track down who had the US rights and buy them out... I don't think that was mentioned but it might have been...
  10. I'd have to agree on the colors, but I'd still lean on the Max...
  11. Nothing a bit of paint and TLC won't solve... if one's into customizing chunky monkeys that is...
  12. Who wants to buy an LD player, especially at this point in time... DVD is where it's at... if one has an LD player and the LD's, the whole DVD-release thing is a non-issue as they should be ripping it to DVD for at least themselves... but one needs the appropriate hardware (starting with the LD player and DVD burner, etc As far as his pride... it comes down to his "vision" of his filmaking, whether one agrees with it or not.
  13. Not if it's not finalized or is still in the "olive branch" stage of things, if not beyond in the tangled maze of licensing specifics (specifically in the mula and derivatives area).
  14. Heh not that bad for 10 bucks... eh.
  15. Damn... I need to go to happy Japan-land.
  16. That's what I'm talking about. I hope this is the case and everyone can be happy. BW and HG need to deal... everything else is too murky for it to turn out good any other way in any reasonable amount of time (say the next decade! at least)...
  17. It hasn't yet happened on VHS after at least 2 releases past when they announced it would be the last time the movies were going to be available in that cut. I find that enormously refreshing that they're sticking to their word instead of milking it more. Lucas could clean up from some of the "fans" who have their panties in a wad over this issue, yet he refuses. This is ONE instance where it's NOT about money. Lucas could clean up on VHS and DVD and satisfy everyone... yet he doesn't despite the money to be gained. That says it's SOMETHING other than money that he's concerned about. It's not money and it's not for "fan" appeasement... The fact of it is, he doesn't care what anyone says or thinks. He releases what he wants for his reasons and if some people don't buy... then he's apparently not too concerned.
  18. Especially since we already have Megs in an "accurately" sized gun-mode (as the Prime holding him shows...) which brings another point. Megs MUST be bigger than normal sized if he's that comparative size with the MP Prime... Kinda means he woudn't be a Transformer, though... Or just make a transforming Megs that turns into a fixed artillery piece... like a more-primitive Galvatron (155mm Crusader or something...)
  19. Aside from the fact that George doesn't want to? Probably some score issues and such (for branching anyways) but I think that's pretty minor if the previous issue didn't apply. Doesn't bother me, either way.
  20. I think a spacy gun like Shockwave can still made, so they could alter Megs accordingly. Or maybe make him an RPG or AT-4 or bazooka or something... Be it gun, tank, or bazooka, Megatron's robot form needs to match Optimus Prime... which kinda goes against gun anyway... and I do find it funny that gun-mode megs is kinda puny compared to Prime's "ion cannon" (especially since he's cheating by adding all the crap to puff himself up). Starscream would be cool. I'd say keep him an F-15 rather than make him an F-22 or whatever. F-15's are still out there after all and they didn't make Prime a new type of truck. I would like to see Decepticons (and Autobots!) in their original forms before coming to Earth. No TF line has done that yet, have they? I should probably start another thread, but this isn't a TF board.
  21. I like what Garoquel did the most. Maybe MW could make a deal Animeigo and actually fill these boxes with Animeigo DVDs? I know there are those out there who haven't gotten the Animeigo's yet... I've been tossing around. I voted for the M+ set as I don't want a gigantor 12 disc box... I'm thinking 1 x 9-disc box, 1 x 3-disc box (DYRL, FB2012, 20th Anniversary), 1 x 3-disc box (M+ OVA and movie), a 5 (?) DVD box for M-Zero, etc... But now that I think bout it I might be willing to buy it as a "travel" box or something... and fill it with the 20th anniversary or FB2012 discs (which I don't have yet).
  22. The problem with Megatron is if he matches Prime's robot mode, he's going to be oversized something recockulous as a toy gun, unless they make him a desert eagle or .44 mag or something... I kinda would like them to make Megs a tank (T80 or T90, M1A1, Leclerc, Leopard II, whatever)...
  23. This was hardly unexpected. While I would have expected some more tact out of their PR people, SOME fans need to realize the original forms of the movies are gone and they're NOT going to get them on their own release. Ever. They're gonna be stuck with bootlegs or old VHS or LD if they want that form. Rip that crap to DVD. Most fans will complain about it, but ARE going to get the set for the extras disc anyways. If they just said they're releasing the OT on DVD, the undeniable follow-up questions are going to be if it's SE or both versions, and when the original versions might be released so that DID need to be clarified. I already have the SE on DVD (HK rips of the laser discs, complete with DD and THX "Laserdisc" intros). But I'm willing to bet either myself or my girlfriend get the set for the specials disc. And I'm certainly holding out for a platinum encrusted "Ueber Edition" that will undoubtedly be released after Ep3.
