Excalibur is bad ass. I've got a good chunk of the lines from that movie memorized. I wish they coulda had a bigger budget and the last battle is kinda rushed. Today it would be a 3 hour movie, but it'd be very difficult for any remake to repeat how good the original captured the bulk of the myth. Heh. Lancelot gets stabbed in his pelvis though... not in his groin. Though it's close. Seeing the weird looking Merlin and feminist-appeal Guinevere as well as the name Bruckheimer made me skip King Arthur, though.

My 3.2 P4 HT, 1.0G DDR, and RAID-0 10,000 RPM RAPTOR Hard drives are waiting.

Yeah, i can't wait for this thing. But there is a thread up top for it.

Yeah you're pretty much stuck with Bandai if you want a transformable TOY. The thought of even a 1/72 Yamato is a very nice thought. 1/60 would be soooo much better, though.

I'm gonna go with a CF VF-1J, just because it hasn't been done. They should probably do a mass production VF-1A CF and a limited VF-1J CF... I dont' wanna see a CF if it's gonna be the putrid color they used on the mass production 1/60 CF, though... The darker of the TRU release at least... if not the Bandai CF color. Yummy. I think they'll eventually move on to the 2-seaters... Yeah it's an expense but they can still capitalize on a good chunk of the rest of their existing molds. But I'm far more interested in 1/60 scale M+/M7/VFX-2 Valks.

I like Battlecry for the multiplayer, if for nothing else... VO had great potential but gets monotonous. Maybe if there was a full english release and greater potential for multiplayer (I can just envision if we could create full servers for MW! I'd be fragging a whole bunch of ya! )... More Valkyries would be nice but I woudln't be disapointed if they were add-on's or other games.

MASTER REPLICAS - ALIENS MOTION TRACKER
Uxi replied to dr_vandermeer's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Heh a shooting model would be nice. You'd get more "WTF is that?" than people who recognize it, I think... Whatever happened to that old Marco ENT company? I used to get catalogs from them when I was a kid (found an ad in an old starlog, I think). I don't think they were charging mroe than a couple hundred bucks in the early 90s for replicas... -
Looks very nice, especially in the box. Don't think I'm gonna be able to resist. Hope a Tread is coming as well!
-
Pretty nice. If someone sold your stickers pre-cut I'd probably be buying a bunch of 'em. I'm way too short on time (and too lazy ) to be cutting them myself, though.
-
I really wish Yamato would release a Super CF with the TRU (or maybe even darker) paint scheme, since they're not gonna do upgrades. I'd buy at least 2 or 3!
-
I was feeling a bit... adventurous so I put 111 on the armor and 3 on the chest plate.
-
I WISH Yamato would just do a white VF-11C version (VF-X2 if not M7)... As well as a VF-22S.
-
Ate a Hummer... Um yeah I don't like that SUV looking thing. I think it'd have been a very cool homage to the existing franchise if it had been a skeletal form of the original (Burton) Batmobile. Course I like Batman Forever probably the best of the 4...
-
Heh, that would be pretty funny if M7 was just dubbed as Robotech 7 or something.
-
Good movie IMO. Not spectacular but worth seeing. I don't think Tobey or Dunst are irreplacable.

I have it on my pre-FP Roy VF-1S and is great except for the codpiece. The same codpiece fits far better (or rather pops off far less) on my Hikaru Super VF-1J than it does on the pre-FP Roy or Max... But for display on my shelf it's fine.
-
Yamato all the way. At least you can take the armor off and it won't be chunky. The 1/55 is gonna be a chunky monkey no matter what! And chunkiness SHOULD be a factor with the GBP IMO. It is something that turns a Valkyrie into a destroid after all... Now if Yamato would revise that codpiece they'd have a slam dunk.

Why were the Toynami Attack Mecha cancelled?
Uxi replied to MyClone's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, if Toynami did them relatively cheap, I'd probably buy a small horde... -
My Max 1A has a perfect paint job. My Roy 1S (pre-FP) has a horrible one. Chips off badly. I was hoping for the vaporware 1/60 FP-upgrade kits to help remedy this, but we now how THEY turned out.

I've been too busy to post as often as I used to... but wanted to toss my mini review... Overall I like it. Not as nice as the little mini fig, but it does go on a transformable valk. My main beef is that Yamato had no imagination with such a large version. If the tiny ass 3 inch version can have opening missile doors, etc I expect more out of a much larger (and 10 times more expensive version). For example, no reason why would we couldn't have removable missiles ala the 1/48 FP. But I guess none of them would fit right anyways without elmers glue or something... But moreso than removable missiles (which would be kinda useless except for those who want to show partially fired GBP) I would ratehr have seen something like spring opening doors (at least for the shoulders)... anything that they could have added but the easiest would have been removable missiles (or at least missile clusters). A more minor beef is how this loses one of the best assets of the 1/60... the posability. It gives the incredibly posable armorless version articulation of a Chunky Monkey, without the sturdiness inherent in that crudely simplistic design. The codpiece? It does seem to be an issue for the older (non FP) valkyries, but there should be a very small tab on the side or something, if not made the cod piece 4 pieces so it would have reinforcement ala the hip with the side missiles or the legs with the knee guard. The Hips should either have separate hip connectors for the GBP hip covers or a special mod of the 1/60 VF-1 hip that telescopes out slightly. Could maybe even be the same piece as would be hypothetically quite useful for the shoulders! I like the shoulder slip covers. They're nice and tight. 1/60 shoulder articulation has long been screwed up due to the design... but all it needs is a telescoping (just a little bit!) shoulder joint to let the shoulder clear the chest plate... What I don't like is the shoulder missle launchers. They need a indented depression on the front/back of the shoulder slip covers and a corresponding detent/knob on the inside of the launcher covers to make them not want to rotate when opening the doors. Overall, I like the armor, but won't be buying another set unless Yamato pulls their head out of their ass.
-
Just one armor set. Unless they release an improved version that fixes the crotch piece in partiuclar (if not adding longer pegs to the GBP hip joint cover itself), I probably won't be getting another...
-
I imagine the Ghost would try similar tactics in space. Attack runs at high speed... I could see Gerwalk especially being effective with Valkyries flying as fast as possible NOE in a particularly moutainous and/or jungle terrain...
-
Nice. Are they all to a common scale?
-
Yup. Better than that beastly looking Mad Max Armadillo thing.

Those little black diamonds on the sides. Those are missile launchers. I love the YF-21FP. My 2nd favorite valk (after my 1/48 Low Viz). I really wish Yamato would release a VF-22S version with the parts they sculpted. Maybe tighter hip joints or something, but no biggie. I'd prefer a redesign for FP panels that include functional landing gear (more space in thsee things than the normal fighter mode leg covers!).
