The book says the 'wings and armor' are supposed to be a new technology that allows them to warp their shape and specifically would allow the legs to get smaller to fit stowed in fighter mode. We saw the wings flexing in place of control surfaces in Guld's preflight as well as the BDS accident that took action on his stray thought of smashing Isamu's VF-11 to the ground. The idea of that being used in the shoulders and fighter nose definitely help account for the changes in shape and proportions from Fighter to Battroid, though raises other issues... like real fighters, variable fighters don't have much space that isn't used to store mechanisms or fuel and ammunition, etc. Toys don't have to account for that, so can fold, panel, telescope and collapse, etc.

Was interested to read in the book that Kawamori thought the YF-21 would use the same flexible material in the legs to make them fit in fighter mode. Maybe other people knew that already but first time I heard that. Perhaps Arcadia just needs to include some rubbery sleeves that slide over the Yamato design legs (and/ or include a chunkier set to swap out). Perfect Transformation sticklers can live with skinny legs. The anime magic was deliberate, though.

The neck cover should be able to work like the VF-1 v2 or VF-11 heat shield or in that space. Could be thin and maybe even a bit softer, if not rubbery in that, if not carve out a small notch for it.

Just needs larger tails and non magnetic leg FAST Packs. And a VF-11C as well.

Watching the Blu-ray makes me want to add either an Arcadia PF or Bandai. I really wish Arcadia would revise for ratcheted ankles and wings (3 positions: battroid, standard fighter and high speed) as well as integrate the neck cover into the chest plate. Collapsing leg fillers and integrated intake covers would be nice, too.

Do hope they'll do one of the Macross 30 schemes as well as Brera and Grace.

Really wish Arcadia would release the CF in both VF-1A and VF-1J so I could get a matching team. None of my 1/60 VF-1 look like they have yellowed. The CF is the only v1 I keep in Gerwalk. Max 1A is standing next to my VF-11B on my desk (a bit dusty). Hikaru Super 1J looks ok in fighter with the FAST pack. Roy VF-1S is in the v1 GBP armor next to the 1/72 Ravens VF-19A that has yellowed thighs intakes and forearms. The codpiece would fall off if you looked at it sideways if I didn't have a piece of scotch tape on it. Kinda curious to take off the armor and see if it's yellowed under, but the head and shoulder lights look ok. The gullet YF-19 looks like it partially yellowed on the side facing the room but only really noticeable when you close the landing gear doors etc (as one's a different shade).

Who's got good artwork for the custom cases?

Sound on the movie is a much more robust 5.1 DTS-HD MA compared to 2.0 LCPM on the OVA (except for the bonus Manga dubbed Ep4 which is was 5.1 and noticeably louder). I thought the scene of the YF-19 arm cannon blowing up the monster was only in the OVA and not Movie but just saw it in both. Movie has some grain that I didn't notice on the OVA. Looks more film like than video of the OVA. Think I cracked the tab releasing the Movie version from the book cover. Think I'll do some blu-ray cases and keep the book with my other Macross books (Design Works, Master Files, etc) while the discs stay with my DVD and Blu- ray collections.

Got my set today. Fortunately I'm off today. Box is huge and won't go with the rest of my collection right now. Thought there would be a regular Blu-ray case with it instead of using the book cover, but it's very sturdy. Was almost afraid of getting a disc out until I pushed n the center harder. Looks incredible. I just watched my old DVD last month. On episode 2 of the OVA on my 85 inch UHD setup. Will roll through them all then d the movie edition (culdn't find my old DVD).

Arcadia could have the perfect version if they would redo the ankles with ratchets and also do ratcheting wings with detents for normal and high speed modes so it would notch into place. Perhaps a third notch for battroid would be ideal.

Always wanted a 1/60 team of TPS/Low Vis with 2 x VF-1A, 1 x VF-1J and 1 x VF-1S. Or at least an unassembled and/or unpainted kit so I could do it myself. I could go for brown CF team in each model, too.

Definitely would add a couple VF-11C and Protect Armor if Arcadia released it.

A shame about the yellowing. And the Mission Packs are apparently a different size from the VF-31 Delta toys. Would be nice to see a v2, perhaps with a variant of one of the color schemes from Macross 30 (blue stripes?) And VF-31 Mission Pack compatibility.

Yeah annoying they can't include the booklets like they used to. How much could that be? Or have a SKU with booklets and a SKU without.

Take the picture and a little T will appear in the corner when you look at the picture. I have a couple hundred pictures in a folder I made just for Mac 30, including some of the special feature area. I thought about organizing them for the story but have been blowing through most dialogue screens again. The Samsung UI is more intuitive than Google's though yeah there more than a little gibberish in there and it translates acronyms, etc when it doesn't need to. You can actually be somewhat selective and do what you want but for ease of use I would just hit the translate button which does it all. The LLM are progressing pretty good, but contextual stuff will probably continue to escape them for awhile unless specifically trained for a genre.

Wasn't I reading somewhere that Battle Astrea was thought to be salvaged from Battle 21 aka Battle Galaxy after it was destroyed by either Battle 25 Frontier (Mac Frontier series) or the Vajra (movie version)?

Looks much more stable than the Yamato design in transformation. Funny to see a similar t-bar design. IIRC mine is cracked on my YF-21 FP (but I'll probably never transform it again since it's nice and tight in fighter) and looking perfect in it. I transform the Gamlin VF-22S periodically though and had it in Battroid and Gerwalk for awhile but back to fighter for now. Love everything about those legs, especially the feet collapsing into the thicker ankles. Arcadia could totally do something similar (telescoping in rather than folding but definitely would suggest better ankles and two piece feet). Ratcheted hips would be a must for stability, as well. I also like the fixed lower rear fuselage area much better than the Yamato. Always kinda gappy on the Yamato design.

First shot in awhile that made me kinda want this again. Can tell the backpack is too far back, but the proportions look great and works from this angle and tampo and accents are really making it pop. Elbows and bicep area look really good too. Need a v2 from Arcadia. PF would probably inflate the price.

Samsung phones have a translate feature that helped with the story some. Helps with gameplay to a lesser extent. Some of the Guild bounty and inventory stuff can be obscure.

I've been replaying through my surround on my 85 inch TV and enjoying it much more. Need to complete my Ultimate re-run to go for the Platinum trophy. Not anticipating a good time with some of those spammy boss fights, especially the 2nd Kamjin battleship. This is making me want a new Macross 40/45 game for PS5, though. No artificially low atmosphere ceiling (want to do that Isamu dash to orbit and then free fall in Battroid). Space travel and might as well as add interstellar to boot (Fold boosters and capital ship menu travel, similar to Mac 30 for latter) but perhaps a starmap selection. Some sort of instanced 1 to 1 galaxy map like Elite Dangerous or No Man Sky, etc. Bring in capital ship combat a mix of instanced set pieces and letting valkyries attack individual turrets, boarding them, attacking reactors or shooting Bodolza in the face, etc). Individual valks should have their own flight models and characteristics. One disappointment from Mac 30 was that Battroid in VF-19 and VF-22, which should be at least as fast and maneuverable in Battroid as a VF-1 in Fighter (or at least Gerwalk). Energy weapons on valkyries should have no ammo cap (can have similar recharge/reload/cooldown mechanism) - head lasers, wing roots on VF-19, but gunpods definitely should not be limited, though perhaps this could be linked to difficulty (Easy - as is, normal - limited, though not 'realistic' while hard should be very limited to the real published numbers) and magazine change introduced with YF-19 was a feature of the design. Most players would want to carefully ration their gunpods and rely more on their lasers otherwise. Have play modes where the players could control/command an expeditionary fleet (the 42 or 45th or whatever?), create names and logos and name the captain, pick their main, valkyrie types and have to manage the resources of their fleets. A reason to pick VF-11Cs and carefully decide to upgrade to VF-19 and/or VF-171, etc. Pick special forces valkyries, use Project M / Sound Force / Jamming Birds for Minmay attacks for Culture Shock or rely on Macross cannons reaction weapons and Colonies like Earth and Eden would have dynamic zones of influences along with Bodol-zer command ships with economies (exports/imports). Players could send squadrons for battles which could be calculated or fly there and participate with their own 3rd person control of valkyries in normal game play. Random chances of running into Protoculture ruins, aliens like the Zola (with their zones of influence and trade, etc)

Got the Max. Pretty cool. Nice and tight (so far anyway). The turret is kinda awkward. It works of course but it's base connection seems too thin to suspend disbelief and is pretty limited in motion in battroid. The super pack is pretty heavy. Perfect in fighter. Surprisingly stable in battroid with it. Main issue I've noticed so far is the shield barely stays connected in fighter.

Max YF-29 First Valk from (US) Amazon. Box pretty beat up and mangled/ broken seal but appears new inside. Got the transformation to Gerwalk and Battroid fine but got stuck going back so went back to Battroid. All the Super parts make the back really heavy. Liked it better on fighter. Everything nice and tight.

Some of the Macross 30 schemes were cool, too.

Is this an ongoing problem or something fixed? Concerned about the Arcadia IFire Valk just got a couple months ago.
