  1. That's pretty close to it. I will check my camera settings when I take some for real. I tried taking some photos of it indoors but you simply couldn't see any of the details (panel lines, etc.) because it was so dark....
  2. Also, it *is* midnight blue. I have pulled it out and held it next to the TV about fifteen times since everyone started questioning me on it. It is the right color. Why the camera sees it as light blue I cannot say. I did notice that some of the photos I took at the airshow this week look lighter than they are, too. I may have bumped a setting by accident. I shall investigate. At any rate, it's the right color blue, I swear.
  3. Yeah, the right arm was left off for the photos. I didn't use any screws to hold this thing together. I just stacked the parts up like a jigsaw puzzle to test the fit. I decided to try and take a picture but getting the other arm on was just too much work.... It will be completed soon. I'm having problems finding decals for it, though. I need Anastazi to get back from vacation so I can get some markings for it!
  4. Nice diorama, but why is that hose plugged into the intake fan? I would move it up underneath and on the inside of the leg or something. It doesn't make much sense to have it in the intake....

    MAX TV VF-1A

Nice. Now just go after the panel lines with a .05mm Lead Pen and you're set!
  6. Hey, if you're ignoring email, what should I do to place a custom order from ya'?
  7. @#)($@)(#*$)(*!!! HOW do you guys do that stuff? ARGH! HOW AWESOME.
  8. Yep. I also have paired gunpods for him. He looks mean wielding two GUs.... Did you notice the feet? :) Really proud of those. You haven't seen anything yet. Jake's signature paint scheme (emerald green and sky blue) is nearing completion and it will blow your mind away. (I am currently repainting the fuselage as the clear coat I used ate all the paint off. Talk about peeved, I am.... But it is a gorgeous airplane, better than anything I have done. I searched for two years to find the right color green...
  9. I've done sheets like the ones you are looking for on an individual basis. A few customizers have asked for them and I'm happy to help out. Got any for 1/55s?
  10. Mine is super-dark blue just like the show. The light plays tricks on the camera... Like I said, it was just a quck snap for fun so I wasn't too worried about the lighting. Give me about a week.... I forget the episode, but it is within the first six (it's probably in Ep. 5 or 6).
  11. I like them, but guys, can't you provide those of us who customize things with a sheet of decals/stickers of nothing but UN Spacy kite roundels and numbers? I have five nearly-intact decal sheets that I paid out the nose for only to get the roundels....
  12. I would almost suggest putting clear tape or a clear decal over it. I've done that before with my Bandais and it works really well. If you get magic invisible tape you can't tell it's there.
  13. Here's the original....
  14. The right foot thruster is still being worked on (the seams will be filled on both sets, but I haven't done it yet) so I apologize for the way it looks....
  15. This is just a sneak preview. This Valk is seen in the Macross TV series for about three seconds. I just pieced the parts together for a test fit and thought I'd take a picture of it just for fun. I still have some painting to do on it, but at least this gives you an idea of what is coming down the line....

    FAST PACKS ARE COOL

Sith, that set of pics in Fighter Mode looks pretty good. I wonder if the light is throwing off the others. In all the pictures I have seen (but the ones you just posted) it looks like it clashes horribly.
  17. That's typical Yamato QC. (Glue doesn't stick to paint all that well, Yamato!) Half the parts on my DYRL "A" fell off as the glue just pulled the paint loose under pressure. I took an X-acto knife and scraped some of the paint off then Super Glued the parts back on. They work fine now....

    FAST PACKS ARE COOL

No offense intended, but... Those things look like crap on the Bulky Lee! I'm glad I passed. I hope the TV version is a different color (like black or deep gray).
  19. Let me see what I can dig up. In the meantime, any chance you can use the Alaska Valk images? They are the clearest I have.... Marine http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...rdian%2002b.jpg Alaska http://www.macrossworld.com/cgi-bin/mwf/ik...;hl=alaska+valk
  20. The reissue boxes look bad, though. I don't like that. What I am after is a "paintbrush" effect. Basically what I want is something like the one with the ELINT/planet background shown in the links above. The guy took a model photo, pulled it out and pasted it onto a background then made the whole thing look like a painting. It looks so realistic. I would love to do the same with anything of mine at this point. Even that Alaska Camo Valk would work--the photos of it were very sharp. I'm so bummed that I can't do this.....
  21. Hey, don't everyone volunteer at once....
  22. Like the second one.... http://www.macrossworld.com/cgi-bin/mwf/ik...=8;t=6217;st=20
  23. Remember the "painting" of the Elint Valk with Saturn (or Jupiter) in the background? It was gorgeous... I know people have seen it. I'll try to dig it up...as it is posted on the old site. I would like to see a couple of these done that way, though I am not sure which one(s) is (are) the best candidate.... http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...ttloid%2006.jpg http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...%20Jet%2015.jpg http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...%20Jet%2022.jpg http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...rdian%2002b.jpg
  24. One of our resident MWorlders made a gorgeous Elint wallpaper "painting" out of some photos of a model he made. Anyone out there willing to help me do so with a couple of my pictures? I don't think any of the photo editing programs I have are capable of doing it....

    Customized Valks

I have some customs on my website: http://jaddams.csw.uic.edu/aod/images/Valk...s/ValkToys.html I will be updating this site soon now that I have a digital camera that is worth a darn. (I also have two Bandai customs coming out... Customized features I have added include paired gunpods, swiveling thighs, and tapered foot thrusters. When I get some guts I will try some of KKs more difficult mods.)
