  1. WITH TAPERED SWING BARS NOW!!!!!!!!!
  2. I realize this is the same custom but I wanted to show you the two swing bars I have trimmed down. The blue one is longer than the skyblue one. They will be incorporated on the appropriate Valks. I put the color mismatched bar on first for contrast. Hope you like this. It sure makes a difference in the appearance of the Valkyrie. Swing Bar Images I thank my lovely assistant, Charlie (my daughter) for her help.
  3. Man I want to be like you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta' get into real estate someday. Or owning a franchise.... I'm still a lowly corporate jet pilot...
  4. I have two hand ideas I am doing. One of them I am filling in the sliders on the arms and making the fist removable and reversible. You pull it out and flip it around depending on the mode. In fighter mode it looks like doors over the wrists so to speak. The other method was to use a paperclip and melt it into the fist. A small hole with a flat plate in the arm would allow you to move the fist to any angle. The only problem is that you have to store the fists when in fighter mode... But it allows poseability in other modes.
  5. It was a Jetfire Bandai 1985 mold. The feet were custom sanded. I just grabbed a file and went after it. All my customs will now have the feet like that. It's pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it. I would recommend filling the feet cavities internally with JBWeld before sanding. That way if you get too deep and go through the plastic you won't lose foot integrity.
  6. It's a custom paint job. He's an ace and all. (The guy in my icon. Hint. Hint.) I just love it!
  7. Thanks! Kids are really so great. She is actually adorable as heck. She likes Chunky Monkeys, too. Her nickname is Chuckie so I guess it fits. Chuckie Monkey. Chunky Monkey. Thanks for the Valk kudos. I am desperate to get this thing done. Soon.....
  8. Use the tip of a file and heat it with an oven burner, then MELT the fist from the top. You can use the heated tip to shape it to the perfect gunpod grip. Works like a charm.
  9. The SWING BAR taper looks like this:
  10. You can see the weathering I am working on both inside and OUTSIDE the Valkyrie from this shot. Rear View (LARGE)
  11. Finally getting back around to it. Please ignore the unpainted head and the unmodified hips. Those will be dealt with later. THERE ARE MANY OTHER PAINT CHANGES to be incorporated. The top section of the battroid where it folds in half will be all sky blue (not some green some blue as seen) so it will look much cleaner. I gave up on painting the nose cone the way I wanted because I could never get the paint lines to line up perfectly and I got sick of doing it over and over and over again. The one time I got it right I dropped the stupid nose and ruined the paint any way..... This is a custom paint scheme I came up with back in 1990. The main character in my novel flies a Valkyrie with this paint scheme in the years leading up to the VF-1's retirement from active duty.
  12. Hehhe, funny man. I'm with my pal on this one. I think people (KK and Fulcy come to mind) were working on poseability on Bandais long before the Yammie came out. I know I had the first leg done almost two years ago. It has just taken me FOREVER to get around to finishing the other one. It is very time consuming.

  14. Texas and Oklahoma are the best kept secret in the USA. I just hope nobody finds out. I like keeping the place to myself.
  15. I can get twice the house *WITH* land for the same price in Texas. AZ is a total ripoff. NICE ICON MYK. Who is that?
  16. Yep. The only saving grace of this place is that my house has almost doubled in value since I moved. All the Californicators moving out here I guess.
  17. Can you get these at a hobby store by any chance? Do they flop around or are they fairly stiff ball/sockets?
  18. That's great! Wish I could find some ball/socket assemblies somewhere. How much friction do they have? Would a Bandai be too heavy to do that with? I like that idea. Might work better than mine. Would certainly be faster.
  19. Strippers...strippers...and more strippers. JUST KIDDING. Hmmmmm.... Money. What is that? 1) House (this thing cost me a fortune -- I HATE ARIZONA.) 2) 1969 Dodge Charger - $20,000 Restoration. I owe $9800. 3) Kids. They just cost me a lot of money what can I say? 4) Aviation Artwork. All the aces from WWII are getting long in the tooth so I am buying as many signed prints as I can find before these great men are gone forever.
  20. Then you file the other section of the elbow.... It should look like this. It goes in the top section of the thigh (the shorter part). When you get it all together go ahead and do a test fit, then JB-WELD (use JB-KWIK instead) the top part together with the swivel in place. When it dries glue the bottom. Sand. Install in the Valk.
