  1. Two Jason's here. Better make sure we know who you are talking to (and I know it isn't me).
  2. I think it is Rosario's stuff. I've sold Valkyries as high as $595 on Ebay. I wouldn't dare try to make a living doing that though.
  3. You can actually sell a custom for 150 bucks these days? It is worth it to me. I do the building for fun then use the money for more stuff to build. Used to be more lucrative I agree, but none of us could earn a living at this even at the market's hey day.
  4. Nah I just happen to have a set of armor and nothing to put it on. So I thought that if someone really wanted one I could give it a shot.
  5. Well I thought of doing a Super O as a "service to the community" but if they will only pay me 50 bucks for it... I'd keep the thing for myself.
  6. I don't have the full image displayed but it is in the Variable Fighter Report art book. Anyone made any of these yet? I want to do this custom next. http://robotech-aod.com/images/FramtonHO/FramtonHO2.html
  7. Looks great (as usual). But man, that design looks...well...frightening. What was Kawamori thinking?
  8. All I know are Anasazi's and Takatoys. They sell both decals and stickers and they are awesome. Wish I could tell you more.
  9. Well for example, a 1/55 Bandai Super O like KidKorrupt's referenced in another thread... Even with Yammies out I bet KK could get at least 500 bucks outta that Ostrich. But I don't see them on Ebay any more.
  10. My advice to you is to stick with what works. You may have a valid point regarding the types of plastic. The age of the plastic and the method used to strip it could also affect the paint. Don't do what I do without using a small test specimen first.
  11. I *DO*. That's what I am trying to get these guys to try out.
  12. Paint the tail lights red? Why? Are NAV BCNs on the tail of the VF-1? Hmmm. Never thought of that...
  13. I definitely use FORD BLUE. That is one of the best ever. I use HIGH HEAT AND REGULAR. They all work tremendously well. Racing Green was a little too "NEON" for my needs sadly.
  14. Yes it is FUSION. I used FUSION because it was the only way to find this color green: http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Dr...tcher-Valk.html It was the biggest cluster*#$ I hav ever dealt with in my life. Engine paint is no thicker than any other paint. It is simply more durable. Add to this the fact that you don't need a primer coat... It's thin and handles many transformations with ease.
  15. *sarcasm on* AWESOME!! Pre-yellowed Yammies! WOOT! *sarcasm off* I think they must be wearing out their molds for all these QC problems.
  16. I was thinking... Is there still any sort of demand for Customs of the 1/55s that were *NOT* issued/re-issued like the VF-1D, ELINT and the OSTRICH?
  17. Krylon fusion and similar products are designed to adhere to plastics better, don't need primer, and have an enamel hardness that stands up better to "play" than model paints, without needing to add a top coat. It's great for us unskilled quasi-hobbyists. 364124[/snapback] I wholeheartedly disagree. Fusion paint is by far the worst paint I have ever used. It does not do what it is advertised to do. It rubs off very easily. Unless you clear coat it you will regret it. If you sand your Valk and leave it just a slight bit rough...any paint should stick to it very well without primer. I recommend DUPLICOLOR engine paints.
  18. Krylon SUCKS. Take my word for this. I have been around the block with just about everything. It does not dry fast nor hold up to wear very well at all. I would highly recommend using DUPLICOLOR ENGINE PAINT. It holds up to serious abuse. Krylon just wears too easily.
  19. Nice custom. I am sorry you used FUSION on it. I have used the Fusion paint and it positively *SUCKS* for wear. Your best bet is to go to AUTOZONE and purchase high heat DUPLICOLOR engine paint for anything dealing with customs. It dries fast and is hard as nails. The only thing that will save your hard work is to find some DUPLICOLOR and CLEAR coat it then go back with a Krylon MATTE clear (I don't think DUPLICOLOR makes a non-gloss clear coat). Otherwise you'll be constantly touching up your Valk. DUPLICOLOR IS THE BEST. Better than Rustoleum. Better than Krylon. Better than anything you will find. Their HIGH HEAT CLEAR COAT is awesome.
  20. Thanks, KK. It took me forever to get around to finishing the other leg but I decided to take photos this time for sure. Glad to see you back.
  21. Good to see you back here bro!! You are one of the all-time greats. We miss you around here!!!!!!!
  22. I have used both sets and they are excellent. Kudos to Anasazi for making a custom set for me (and being patient when I took forever to pay him after some minor early-life crises).
  23. Does the anime GU-11 gunpod have the telescoping range finder on top like the Bandai toy has? I think I am going to break those things off if they don't belong there. I get the impression they exist to "shoot" the "missile" out of the toy.
  24. Thanks. Just posted an updated version. Take a look when you can (kill markings changed).
  25. Yeah I just need to make some emblems for the vertical tail on a 1/55. No bending expected. I still may hit Anasazi up for it. Hmmmm.... I wonder if I could take a decal sheet to PINKO's and let them run it through the color laser....
