Thanks everyone.
I have an IAF (Israeli Air Force) in build also. Will be finishing all of the previously posted models (exception: Luftwaffe) with luck next week. I just have some decals to do and that's really all.
Now, to answer the question on the paint....
This is a technique I used with ME-262 models back as a kid. I usually use two greens and two grays... I also use three or four grays... It is a blot technique and works very well. On this plane I am using only two grays so far--will test on a boot and decide if I should do more.
It is stunningly simple (I messed up some on this one and will have to probably go back and fix it but no worries).
1) Paint your model with one solid base coat.
2) Take a wide bristle brush and dip in a bottle of your second color.
3) Blot the brush very harshly onto a piece of paper until it stops leaving a solid circle of paint (it will get "wiry" for lack of a better term).
4) Dab the model at random.
5) Repeat.
LOL!
Well when one tries to respond to multiple threads...and with a quick typing speed...
Thanks for making the change. Sorry you are still dealing with bots...
Hi guys...
Is this a mistake? 120 seconds for flood control? Any chance you can change that to something a tiny bit more user friendly? Say...30 seconds or maybe even 60 seconds?
I feel like I'm waiting FOREVER to post a follow-up and I am sure all will agree I am not a flooder.
Many thanks.
A little before and after...
Second swivel thigh installed. (This will be replaced with another one later--the angle is slightly off--once the new part is painted.)
Here is how you fix a canopy.......
- Under running water sand with fine sandpaper in a circular motion.
- Work your way to finer and finer sandpaper.
- Finish with BRASSO or some form of metal polish (no need for running water here! LOL).
- Dip in Future.
Yes it can. Names are recycled.
The F-22 is not the first "Lightning" for example (see P-38, English Electric, etc.).
The F-4 is not the first Phantom either. (See FH-1.)
Thanks for the pics. Awesome job there.
No offense, but that thing is hideous.
Where's the one the chick flew? I think that registered higher on the cool meter.
From a yellowed, broken Jetfire.....
This will put it in perspective for ya...

Thanks bro. I dunno if it is my skill with paint or with the camera! LOL At least I am slowly learning the lighting techinques required to make things look on film as they appear in life.
Nice job. Wish I could do that myself! LOL
Yes the LV has lights and such. I haven't painted those in yet though.
Still working on matching up the gray splotches so they blend in a bit better.
