  1. I guess the dollar really is in the toilet. M&M 1/60 Yammies for over $150 each???? How long has it been like this? And HLJ's prices for 1/48s have gone nuts! WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad I bought them when I did. WHEW.
  2. A dremel with a buffing wheel would do it faster.
  3. You guys kill me. LOL Funny that Kanata and I were in negotiations for me to purchase his parts stockpile. He dropped off the planet on me again. I'm very bummed... I need his stash...
  4. Swap the peg out or file it.
  5. This is probably above my paygrade but........ The absolute finest sandpaper you can find.... For polish I would use a jewel cleaner. NOT brasso. Brasso would probably stain the plastic back. Try it on a small piece first and test it.
  6. I have an aZZload of -1S heads... Almost all are Jetfire heads...
  7. Sand and polish or repaint. Only options I know about.
  8. The longer you soak it the cleaner it will get. It depends on your patience level. It should remove EVERYTHING.
  9. Leave it in PINE-SOL for a week and do not touch it. Just let it soak. Trust me. The reason it takes a long time is the thing that keeps your plastic safe. You don't want to dip it into something that's gonna' eat the plastic. I remember once as a kid soaking a model in paint thinner. HA HAHAHAHA! Woops.
  10. 1) Paint thinner dipped rag. Wipe as necessary until paint gone. 2) Lemon-Scented Pine-Sol Soak. Submerge it in that for a week or ten days. This will remove all paint on the part.
  11. Banda 1/55 Valks. Gives it added poseability, particularly in GERWALK. Poseability depends on thigh cut angle. I optimize mine for Gerwalk because that's my favorite.
  12. Here are the swivel thighs I completed for a fellow member. Bear in mind that the set my wife threw in the trash was actually even better than these, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think these turned out great, regardless. I should probably do a little more sanding around the gap fillings on one of them but other than that they came out a-okay. The seams are actually tighter than shown. I didn't press them all the way in for the picture after having them slightly spaced for priming. But you get the idea. I also need to remove some tape that you can see on the fourth one... WOOPS. Enjoy. http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Mo...wivel-Thigh.jpg
  13. Okay you asked for Battloid/Battroid pics. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT THE FINALIZED APPEARANCE OF THE CUSTOM. It has not received its final weathering or flat clear coat. I am still applying some decals to it. There are a few other details still to be added as well. The weathering is intended to be seen flat not gloss so as far as I'm concerned it looks like sh*t right now. Go back to the picture posted first to get an idea of what flat looks like. Now that you have been warned...
  14. I will be here!
  15. No harm done! 1) On backorder. 2) I work mostly with water-based stuff for weathering because I can wash it off when I screw it up. - Sand *EVERYTHING* -- A LOT - Rustoleum is your friend - For weathering pencils and water-based Pactra/Testors are my favorites. Just pick a color slightly darker than what you use for your base coat (or mix it) and just blotch and drag as needed. Pencil scribbled heavily on paper works great as well. Just use the paper to smear the graphite around. 3) A very thin brush. Painted by hand. I went back and fixed some mistakes that are visible in those pictures but never got the chance to take more shots of the final product. The owner has been promising me some for awhile. I hope he does it soon!!!!!
  16. Oh that is a PRICELESS quote right there. SMOOTH!
  17. Now *THAT* is funny!!!!!!!!! Amazing that the nation that first codified the idea of the right to self-defense now sees no use for it. Don't worry, the USA isn't far behind... Guess I'm a little touchy as it seems every week some idiot councilman tries to come up with another restriction on the good guys--as if the bad guys care.
  18. It's an American thing, not just a Texan thing. A man has a right to self-defense. Period. My wife was a rape victim many years ago in part because she was unarmed. She will not be caught without the ability and skill to defend herself with a handgun ever again. If you don't like 'em then don't have 'em. I do and I do, responsibly and with skill. I suggest we steer clear of this topic before the thread gets locked.
  19. What's that supposed to mean? There's absolutely nothing wrong with owning and enjoying firearms. They're valuable tools. Some of our funnest family excursions are to the gun range. My nine-year old has been shooting since he was five. My five-year old even knows how to shoot and she's not bad. My hobbies: Females Flying Firearms The Three Fs.
  20. LOL! Touch? Hell yes. Hey, I'm the guy who made the first low-viz... Nobody ever gives me credit. *pout* Seriously though... Battroid pics sure. I'm still not finished with her yet though... Gimme a day or so to post them. Heck, I haven't truly completed ANY of my customs yet other than the Marine Low-viz, Alaska, and Tiger Valks. They are all in various stages of completion while my house is built. I have a section in the garage that will have a work bench intended for ammo reloading/gunsmithing and Valk building. WOOT!
  21. What's my Low-Viz, chopped liver??????????? http://robotech-aod.com/images/ValkToys/Ha...lur-Fighter.jpg
  22. I may have found my next project...
  23. Looking at HLJ's site I don't see a scale for the Revoltech VF-1s. Are they 1/100 or something? Thanks in advance.
  24. Needs red stripes on the wings still...
  25. Looking good!
