At least the game looks like it will be as playable as the previous one, nothing like a charged transform punch in Transformers or Macross games -
Yesterday there was a feed from a helicopter news team who were flying over the devastation and it clearly showed a JR line train in the wreckage and mud in a large field. The U.K news team totally missed this as important as they were more interested in the reactor issues. But now I guess that this was one of the missing trains. There was also footage of a guy on a bicycle peddling for all he was worth to out run the slick of mud and water chasing him up a country road, he's about 100m in front of it and they cut the feed before we see if he's safe. There was also footage of some cars trying to get away, one of them clearly performs handbrake turn in the road and then floors it in the opposite direction, again the news feed was cut before the fate of these people was shown. That kinda thing clearly brings it home the plight of those involved, I sure hope they got away. Bicycle guy made it to the front pages on one of our news papers, not much solist for his friends and family if he didn't make it though.

That said there are reports that the water is receding on the coast of Hawaii so the waves are coming. Hold tight guys. Watching it all unfold here at about 9am GMT all our news channels are alive with reports of it all. Apparently there is a Nuclear power station that has broken it cooling system in the quake, and they are trying to put out a massive fire at the fuel depot outside Sendai. Everyone I know in Japan is mostly o.k or well outside the affected areas thankfully. When I was last in Tokyo there was a "small" M5 quake I was amazed at how the Hotel workers just carried on as usual and didn't seem bothered, Quake precautions in Japan are amazing. That said this is quite bad to say the least.

WOW!!! Do I need to say more Master Macross Modeler indeed.

I find that the best way to avoid disappointment is to totally avoid all reviews by so-called "professional" film reviewers. More than once I have listened to those supposed experts, who said the film sucked or didn't suck only to find IMO they are the ones that suck. Just unplug your sense of logic buy a soda and some popcorn and enjoy.
-
I dont think there will ever be a film made where someone wont be able to say that they stole an idea from another film, however small the similarities may be. I just want a good pre summer popcorn flick, with not to many plot holes or unobtainium.

Yup when we get invaded, if I don't get killed in the first few salvos of the inevitable orbital bombardment, and provided they aren't 50 foot high clone with greenish skin and parchant for 5 foot tall singing chinese girls I'm gonna be trying that line out.

We can't be that many clips away from being able to make a live action version Macross from all those "rip off" movies. At least we could take it to Lucas and show him what it could be like

This thread just got so much better I wish I just had a gun like Prime's slow mo or otherwise. -
I supposed it is. If you have ever put an old headfone speaker face down on the table and pushed the volume up they do hover along to the beat.
-
One step nearer the totally powered by sound car, no engine just bass speakers to push you in the direction you want to go. BURR DA BURR DA BURRRR "what's that ?" "Oh it that kid across the road coming home from the mall".

I think the problem with them is the wires always pull them out and they never quite fit well enough. I have Sony ones which are ok but also have some of the large clip over your ear type which were popular in Japan a few years ago. I had a chat with a friend a while ago about it we thought the solution would be make a cast of your ear (the sticky out bit) inside and mold it in silicon with an ear bud set in the middle. A custom made set would be more expensive but companies like B&O have been making to measure for years, my friend has some. They are great but as in our discussion he would like a total bespoke fit for his money.

That would be nice I'm sure the Complex guys would let you know how its done.

Yes in blighty we use 110th on building sites and in bathrooms for razors etc, although it is double isolated so much much safer. 3 phase over here is 415v and that stings. Ive come across a few houses with it, mostly for things like potter kilns or casting pots etc.

About 12 years ago I was working in the refrigeration industry for a while. Most of the engineers were saying the whole change over was an expensive waste of time purely for bureaucratic reasons. Change for change sake. Arc fault breakers by this do you mean current and rcd breakers. If you do then in the U.K they have been law on most types of. Circuits for domestic use for years. They do work as I have worked on systems where they saved house and user a few times. In the U.k we have 240v mains so the higher volt issues can yeald higher fault currents I'm not 100% on the earth requirements in the U.S but you guys use the more "safe" voltage of 110v so not so sure if they are as "needed".

The Xbox style ones have their place but you cant beat a game that works fine with you 80's Quickshot II Love my M$ Sidewinder though great for Mechwarrior etc. All in all though it harks back to the point that games used to be simpler and our expectations were lower. I could spend hours with Galaga and such like.
