Trying to get EA Games to consider a Robotech/macross first/third pers
big F replied to llPREDATORll's topic in Games
I agree with Zinjo. With HG in the mix you'll never have anything that the western world can use. Better off just putting your resources towards learning Japanese to help you play games from the far east software houses, -
StarWars Underworld: Live action series
big F replied to Omegablue's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well back in the day Space precinct cost a million an episode, so add up inflation costs and It would probably be nearer Ricks 5 Mil an episode. Just hope it doesn't suck half as much. That was a great idea that was executed, quite literally. When it was first hinted about in the U.K it was billed as a kinda Blade Runner crossed with Star Trek, but with puppets. Sadly I guess if this ever comes to anything other than a bunch of fan boy dreams and rants, crossed with Lucas Arts Sabre rattling to generate interest in an already massive cash cow, I will be amazed. I think they should either finish up the trilogies make the much rummer'd final three parts, or just go out into the Star Wars universe and do something familiar but different. If that means setting it 1000 years/cycles or what ever before the Midichlorians even think about Darth Vader, or some where else in far away from the core worlds then so be it. -

I too had one back in 85, they are IIRC as already said more anime than real plane/robot as say a Hasegawa would be, but in my opinion you'd be better buying it for a keeper than building it up. Just go out and get the Bandai version and build that the same as the Imai one and display it next to the minty boxed one. Back in 2007 I nearly got one at Mandarake in Shibuya but put it back when I found more stuff that I couldnt pass up, IIRC it was the same price then, although the exchange rate was far more favourable then, still a good price. As far as the noise cone I have in my collection a Macross book that shows the modification needed to correct the nose issues. I may be able to dig it out if needed as it is in storage at my parents place.

Thanks for the info, I got an email from them the other day saying they were using a temporary site address, but I didn't go there, as I was busy and even a quick visit usually takers hours . Today though I got an automated email telling me that a thread I participated in had a reply, but due to time I still didn't go there, kinda glad I didn't as I'm not sure which is real and which is not, so I guess like others I'll sit this out till the storm has passed.

I'm gonna pin this thread, awesome work so far.

I'm not sure if I would want to get it on BD just yet as, I cant really shell out that kind of money, on something that I kinda already have. So I'm gonna let all you who are buy it and then let me know if it is worth the bother.

Ok I will try and get over there this week and break em out, I will photo them with a ruler and get measurements etc.

Not trying to de-rail the thread but I have some of the old Ral-Partha Battletch lead figures. I Specifically bought doubles of the Macross "stolen" ones because I had a chess set in mind, OMG that was 20 years ago. Still sat storage in my parents loft, when I say parents loft what I really mean is Macross, computer, Lego and Transformers storage area in my parents roof space. Maybe we should work out which and what is needed to make a chess set of U.N Spacy and Zentran forces. I think it would sell, well at least one set

How did I miss this thread The designs are great and if you just slipped them into the macross mechanical manual as a concept I doubt most would notice, they look very Kawamori. I used to do sketches of transformers and battletech about 20 years ago on paper. Not really done any proper artistic drawing since then. Seeing these has really made me want to bust out a, pen and pad, and maybe use my Wacom tablet for something other than a mouse mat. Mr March I love the way that you colour the individual parts to aid in location. I have used your idea when drawing plans out in 3D for computer parts and concepts.

They look awesome, and about the right size for a Macross chess set. Obviously I think you could recast them, and you'd have a list of buyers.

Well you can add me to the approval list.

Maybe you can take out some kind of court injunction that says he has to make the rest

Cesar, just out of interested where you put the batteries for the LED's on the 1/72, they look great. Hands up who's gonna be gluing and painting come Christmas day when T.V gets boring and everyone else falls asleep ?

I really came across it at the same time that Transformers hit the U.K in 1984, I was 12 and the anime style cartoons were my favourite so Robotech was an obvious choice to me to watch. Transforming mecha was and still is to me the finest thing from anime, so even though in 1984 I had never heard the word Anime, I knew that all these cartoons I liked were from Japan. Japan also happened to be a country that fascinated me as a kid. So When I found Arii kits in my local toyshop It was all good. Happy days when the U.K T.V networks showed Robotech and I had more to watch than the single video tape of the compressed story Global tells after the return of the SDF1 to earth. It all kinda stagnated for me in the U.K for a while but towards the end of the 90's while working at IBM I got talking to a collegue about Japanese cartoons and we got onto Robotech and then as we were working nights and had little to do we just Yahoo searched it, and then several Yahoo auctions later, eBay didn't exist back then. I was re hooked. Mac Plus came out and I had DVD's shipped from the U.S. I funded trips to the Land of the Rising Sun and came back with cases full of Macross and posted several shipments back to my self each visit. Some time later after getting banned from Robotech.com for talking about "propper Macross" I found Macross World, done deal now as far as I am concerned.

To me they look like the feet that go on the bottom of the v1 BT Homehub see my attached picture. I've got quite a few of these sitting in my spare cupboard.

LOL that could almost be the first draft for half of M7.

Recast recast...... LOL nice I'm sure not so many people have tried mecha costumes of Macross subjects before, plenty of Transformers though, good job.

A thing of much greatness

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
big F replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Could this be "Epic Fail!!!!!" Not sure it would work any which way, but as long as they at least get some Iconic bike designs in there and i dont mean just dressed up Hyabusa GSXR's eaither. Although we are more likely to get..... We will see though -

Yup " I hate (fill in blank) for killing my childhood memories" But hey I want a forth film just to see what happens when you remove Bay from the equation. -

You see that show casing a lot in movies when it comes to using the military. Look at ID4 you'd think the entire U.S military only had one type of plane. Last time I was on a military base there were a whole mixture of hardware. Granted there were a few new tech items that us Techs got all steamy about, but the majority of kit was tried and tested dented and scratched. Sure you could argue in the case of ID4 the aliens wiped out every thing except for the small group of F18's IIRC they were the plane of choice at the time. Getting back to DOTM you would expect military units to be made out of the cutting edge hardware as it would be made available because of the known threat. I would have also expected to see a ton more military might sent Detroit's direction. The feeling I got was there had been a limited military fight and then Megatron had been given the key to the city and been told your the Mayor now. What we should have seen was a massive military strike decimated, local inhabitants subdued and small resistant cells trying to fight, also covert special forces infiltrating the city while the military try and make head way in the skies above using drone recon etc. I think that would have made it more gritty and better story wise. In Megatron's Master Plan the Deceptions are far more ruthless, and remember that was a kids cartoon and Bay directly plundered the story arc from that. -
Very nice, don't get that kinda service much anymore.

It's been in it for literally years I commented on it way back when I first joined Macrossworld, but also mentioned it to Macross loving friends back in the late 90's. I dont watch it much but as the wife has it on I do take a peek every time the Cafe is in it. Everytime I see it I remind her of it,she really hates that Ironically it is the only thing that was saved when they blew up the cafe a couple of years ago. My guess is that some one at BBC Elstree knows how much it is worth.
